MAY BOOKS ON THE BRIGHT SIDE PROJECT!

{please visit may books here}

Our first Thanksgiving feature!  We are happy to launch this Thanksgiving (and hope that it’s the first of many more!) with Mica + Jonathan’s May Books. This couple is terribly impressive; they not only live together but also work together and happen to pull it off seamlessly.  The secret? Per Jonathan, “Mica’s always right.”

Just like their marriage, May Books is a combined effort.  Mica’s leanings toward whimsy and Jonathan’s penchant for functionality make for a happy union when it comes to their product.  It is a perfect balance of both. May Books not only looks good but is good.  The green e-certified canvas covers are resilient and water resistance, their sewn binding (in their words) “by the all-famous, old school sewing machine,” makes for a book that will not have loose or ripped pages and they are cute to boot! This is a win-win situation if you ask me. May Books also offers a custom option for those who seriously want to give something (or keep something) special! We think this would be the perfect gift for that person on your list that wants modern design but doesn’t want to sacrifice functionality, hmm? The Mod Type-A? The whimsical pragmatist? I will let you decide…

May Books is giving away 4  books to one winner (remember to share!). In order to win, please answer the following question by Thursday, December 3, 2009.

A perfect holiday is a small and cozy affair with my husband and three children. No one gets stressed out or gets in someone else’s way, voices stay at a normal decibel throughout the day and we just enjoy the day, the food, and each other with lots of laughter and discussion.

  12. 112
    Alanna says:

My perfect holiday is when I get to see both sides of my family and experience all the culture that comes with the time of year – I have strong Irish and Danish backgrounds and I love the blend of cultures that results around the holidays.

My perfect holiday is one where I get to sleep in, then chill in my PJ’s with my man and sip on morning coffee/tea while listening to holiday music and watching the fire. Then we venture off to our families house where we have a scrumptious brunch and carry out our holiday traditions with my most favorite people!

My perfect holiday would be to go to Turtle Island in Fiji for my honeymoon – you know the one – Blue Lagoon!

This past Thanksgiving was pretty close.
My husband’s family invited my parents to their thanksgiving dinner, which meant we didn’t have to choose one or the other. No one had to spend the day alone.
    For me, this was perfect!

the perfect holiday is christmas-with lots of family and lots of friends-all in one place!

  21. 121
    Trish T says:

my perfect holiday is warm on the inside, cold on the outside. snow is preferable, but only if everyone can travel safely. christmas lights and a fire in the fireplace. laughter and little tiny finger foods that don’t take a lot of prep, but are so good… because you only get them once a year.

    Susan K says:

My perfect holiday hasn’t happened but it’s a visit back to Sweden in the summertime (where my daughter was born) with us visiting friends and family with no hard times from her father. Everyone will have at least a week off so we can really visit well, going to beaches etc. Nice time!

  26. 126
    Susan says:

My perfect holiday would require something artful to be made (an ofrenda or a decorated tree?), something delicious to eat, a lovely libation, music, a moment of reflection and friends and family to share it with.

  27. 127
    Cara says:

My perfect holiday would be no “stops” to make — just a small group of friends and family together in one location, so we could all take as much time as we wanted to relax, prepare food and eat it, sit around and sing Christmas carols, crack up over a White Elephant gift exchange and watch It’s a Wonderful Life. Oh yes, and if there were some BSP goodies under the tree, that would be perfection.

  28. 128
    Jennifer says:

One spent at home with great food, great friends and family, and great memories!

Option one would be spending time at the beach with my hubby & two small boys, making fabulous family memories together
Option two (and most appealing at the end of a long day!) is two weeks away on a tropical island with NO CHILDREN!
    woo hoo!
