WELOVEHUE_BSP

We thought we would take a moment to announce the theme for our February 2010 project and do our regularly scheduled programming of calling to arms both contributors and sponsors.  February is our ‘We Love Hue’ project as the name suggests we will be focusing on color.  After a bleak winter we want to infuse the inter webs with some hue , no?  We our currently scouting items that have a fab color story and trust us we are looking at anything and everything, if it’s cool we will consider it, don’t be shy now. Need some exposure?  Well the hundred of thousands of visitors that stop by to soak up the rays here are happy to take a peek at your wares and vi for your prize. So if you have a product that you think fits the theme –color, color, color (and sure pattern thrown in too we’re easy) than please feel free to send a link over to our editorial department for review: sunshine@thebrightsideproject.com|Subject:: We Love Hue too!

If you want to help keep this boat afloat then we would love to have you as a sponsor, yup we sure would! We love our sponsors because they help keep the lights on here and let’s face it, it takes waaay more than a village to keep this place going, ask our weekend editor, our web designer, our lovely crew of volunteer guest editors and Miss K etc.  Don’t worry we don’t expect somethin’ for nothin’ email us and we can discuss how to help your brand shine! sunshine@thebrightsideproject|Subject: Shine me up! or the less corny Subject: More ad info please…

For the 1st quarter of 2010 we will start implementing a few new things ’round here:

  • A couple times a month we will be using the Random number generator to choose the winner.  This is for all those folks out there that have sent emails complained, cajoled and admitted that they were just plain too lazy to answer a question, we hear ya and this one’s for you.
  • Our weekend editor Miss Lindsey will be helping out a bit more with posts and graphics throughout the week so Miss K and myself can get ready to launch our much anticipated Besotted Brand LLC and my new blog that will include our new virtual classroom The Show & Tell (being that our designer just gave birth this weekend we may be tardy for class). Please be sure to sign up for the launch and be our pen pal.
  • We will be trying convince at least one Guest Blogger a month (maybe, maybe not the linked blogger will be up for Feb?) to pop by, which you know what that means?  That means that the chances increase that you will win more than one of their ‘favorite things’. Yes we spoil you rotten we know, but we love you all so.
  • We are going to add in some regional projects, our first one will be launched in April called California Dreamin’ .  We will be focusing on California designs, products, artwork or California inspired works with an emphasis on eco luxe products.  If this description fits you drop us a line.
  • If you haven’t already be sure to join our Facebook Fan Page (more like BSP clubhouse) this is where we have been quietly adding all the discounts that are offered to you dear reader by contributors, sponsors and sometimes superstars like these folks will let you know about their top secret sample sales!  Just sayin’.  You will also get the inside scoop on who will be guest blogging, what future themes might be and also you can feel free to make suggestions on what prizes you might be interested in or anything else you might wanna let off your chest.

Thank you to everyone that stops in each day, answers (or not) for telling your friends, family and complete strangers about the project (you are doing this aren’t you?)  Thank you to our contributors and sponsors for their continued generosity. We love having you over and can’t wait to lavish you with even more goodies + good times.

xo,

Miss B

I love your site . . . and I don’t usually complain, especially when somebody’s giving away free stuff every day. But I cannot believe that someone would complain about not winning a give-away when they’re admittedly too lazy to post a response to one of your questions. I am just starting a blog and there will be give-aways there. And I plan to pose questions just as you do. Most of the other sites that have give-aways ask you to follow their blog, subscribe to their feed, follow them on facebook and twitter, and blog about the give-away with a link back to them. So, I said all that to say this . . . if you can’t answer the creative, thought provoking questions that you pose on your site to solicit winners, the folks who are too lazy to answer won’t have a prayer of winning something anywhere else. I love answering the questions! Just my two cents . . .

I’m all for creative thought provoking questions, but I didnt major in english lit or psych in college and my answers are not always 2 pages long. There are writers on here who win every month! So YAY FOR THE RANDOM GENERATOR!!!!!!

I look forward to answering questions each morning. I have started to copy and paste my anwsers into a journal. Im trying to be as honest and pure as I can in answering. I love looking back in my journal and reading bits and pieces about me… It will be a nice book to give a grandchild someday. Most of us never write down our thoughts and feelings, it very rewarding .. for me, and Im sure when Im long gone it will be cool to have a peice of my thoughts and everyday routines written down. Thanks Bright Side!

    Thanks friend!

California Dreamin… All about it! Born and raised, and coincidentally enough.. I am running a series of 3- 1/2 marathons this year (I will also be running my first full) any ways, if you run 3 particular races you get a HONKIN’ medal at the end in the shape of California the racing series is called California Dreamin! Heck to the yes. Let me know what you need, I love glue, bright colors, art deco pens and the sun.

I also save all of my responses to questions on the brightside (in a now very large Word doc)! I also have to say that I feel I’ve gotten to know some of the regular BSPers through their postings. I would hate for that camaraderie to disappear in a random number generator. Thanks again – ladies, contributors, and posters – for a lovely diversion to my day!

BRILLIANT! I am going to copy you!! THANKS BSP!!!

Thanks so much for everything you do!
I agree, though, every other site uses a random generator for their giveaways– it’s nice to be able to prove your merit on BSP!

    Rebecca says:

Mmm, I understand doing the random generator occasionally (especially now that there are SO many answers for contributors to look through!), but as someone who enjoys answering the questions [and looks down upon those who obviously don't put thought into it], I feel it’s a bit of a cop out! But I know you can’t please everyone!

  16. 16
    Miss K. says:

A cop out for who? Miss B. and I? The contributors? I’m not following, so please explain! :)

Once a month or so a contributor will tell us ahead of time that they do not have time to read the comments. Sometimes they tell us this AFTER they have promised to read the comments–they procrastinate, see how many there are to read, and decide they don’t want to pick a winner after all. In the past, Miss B. and I have gone through all the comments, which does take a while. We thought this would be a good opportunity to please the people who email us daily that “they never win” while taking a little work off our plate.
