RUSSELL + HAZEL
{please visit russell + hazel here}
When in search of chic accessories more often than not you’ll come up shorthanded at your local office supply. This is where today’s contributor, russell+hazel steps in with fresh options in colors and patterns that function as beautifully as they look.
The world of russell+hazel lies at the intersection of color, function and style. Founded in 2003 by Christine Plantan, russell+hazel is a headquarters for productivity tools for school, work and home. Abiding by the philosophy “that good design is not over-design or design for design’s sake, rather pleasing design with loads of functionality.” Plantan has grown their collection to include binders, notes cards, totes, and more.
Whether shopping online or in store you can customize their systems to fit your needs both functionally and fashionably. Signature binders come in fantastic hues of book-linen, have dry erase interiors and sturdy rubber bands to keep contents secure. SmartDate planners complete binders for easy scheduling and organizing. For brides-to-be, russell+hazel’s wedding collection offers pretty planning for the betrothed. Self adhesive note sets, stamps, memos, leather cases, and paper pockets round out their offerings for a stylish office.
The options russell+hazel offer have my mind spinning with possibilities. Color-coordinated organization and pretty paper products are on the short list of things that make my heart pitter patter. Head on over to to their Minneapolis store (if you are lucky enough to be close by) to check out their Binder Bar where you can build your perfect system all while enjoying snacks and drinks. But trust this southern girl who is no where near there that shopping online is equally as fun. And with a slogan like “add life to you work” you’d expect nothing less!

Erasers are my favorite office things ever. They’re not really office supplies, but they’re there, you know? I love them because they smell so rubbery and you can erase your pencil marks and you can make eraser dust and annoy people! >:]
My favorite office supply has to be post-its. I use them for everything!
My favorite office supply is the humble highlighter. I have ‘em in a whole rainbow of colors, and as a college student, it sure comes in handy! Blue for equations, pink for definitions, yellow for general info… and when I was taking a very difficult immunology course last term, it was very helpful to associate different colors with topics! Everything that had to do with B-cells got blue, CD8+ T-cells got green…
color makes studying sooo much easier. :)
I love office supplies! My favorite ones are things that help me organize my scattered life. If it’s got compartments, it makes me happy.
Paperclips!! Gotta be colored ones – plain old silver just won’t do. And the choice of a paperclip isn’t random with me… the color must speak to the recipient. And, oddly enough, right now I’m wearing a paperclip bracelet made by my 7 year old daughter.
Love, love, LOVE my label maker and am a HUGE fan of Russel + Hazel. Thanks for the chance :)
I am a teacher (and English teacher at that!) so I love office supplies. I think my favorite is my black and silver pen. I’m not even sure where I got it or what its brand might be, but I love it. It’s weighty and different and writes beautifully. I’m a sucker for a good pen.
“Live this moment really well. It’s the only one you get to hold.”
And I have a sick love of office supplies. particularly yellow No. 2 pencils.
“Dont rock the boat, just flow with the current” -me
And my favorite office supply is my fountain pen :) I love to write in script.
Instead of using the usual ‘have a great day’, I prefer to use my tagline. Make the day great!
My tag line (for life and for my business) is “Do something sweet for yourself!”
I’m a sucker for pens. Every time I go to an office supply store, my hubs begs me not to buy more… and I always do.
Paper clips…they are the epitome of great design, functional, attractive, inexpensive and clever!
tagline: live simply.
it’s so hard to narrow down my favorite office supplies! i love anything simple and organized… i am currently living by the “bible” of the russel + hazel wedding planner!
my slogan would have to be ‘less is more’… it’s a good one.
Recently, I have developed a secret love for highlighters. I try to find them in unique colors. I like to add designs to plain papers or make my recipes look stylish. My office has rows of stacked black binders with all kinds of writings in them; I really appreciate a highlighters streak of fun color.
I love all office supplies, but my favorites are notebooks and writing utensils. I *love* a good pen or pencil or Sharpie.
Love these binders…they speak to my con-tain-it site/store where my tag line is “Solutions for Storing in Style”…and I have a second tag line blog in the works…B.O.B.I.’s and the tagline is “Business of Bliss & Inspiration”…Bobbi is my nickname and love this acronym.
live life like its the weekend stolen from a jimmy buffet tshirt or tommy bahama’s {cant remember which one} and i love the new sharpie pens thats retractable!
As a Humanities teacher I’m constantly wanting to take notes about what I read, whether it’s a text I intended to read for class or just something I picked up that’s speaking to me, but I can’t abide writing in books. Tape flags to the rescue! Love, love, love tape flags! I love that I can write on them, and that they stick right next to the specific text I want to reference. Brilliant!
Pens any that produce the thinest blackest line possible. I just have a thing for pens and throughly detest the fact that pens are now sealed in those impossible to open plastic prisons. One must hold a pen to check on it’s balance (Cross pens have great balance but not so great for a very fine black line of ink) and when they’re sealed in their plastic armor well…. ’nuff said!
work as hard as you play.
and i have a weird love for the most basic black and blue ballpoint pens. i can’t imagine a world without them…or rather don’t want to.
Paper, lots of paper, post-it-notes, pads of pretty paper, pads of plain paper. etc etc. I use all of them to make lists and just to write down ideas I have.
My slogan would have to be “Look deeper. Things aren’t always what they seem.”
And, believe it or not, my favorite office supply is binders. I collect magazine clippings, ideas and fashion photography. And they all end up in binders.
Binder clips. I love to find colorful and unique binder clips. They are extremely functional and they cheer up any document.
Is pens any many different colors; cork boards with pictures of inspiring and fun things o it;}
Thank you for the opprotunity!!
My work slogans:
1. Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life: )
2. Many things in life will catch your eye but only a few will catch your heart; pursue these.
OK, I am positively drooling. I was already coveting that binder set to help me organize my design files + years worth of grad school papers/syllabai/etc. As for office supplies, I love anything that helps me to get and stay organized–extra points if it’s also beautiful. The Brother labeler is my latest favorite!
My tagline is: It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. SO…live as you like!
my slogan would be:
“Life of my own party”
Cause really, if you don’t make everyday fun for yourself, who’s gonna do it for you?
My slogan is to spend each day noticing the blessings, and have every day be blessed.
My favorite office supply – my colored pens! And no, I’m not a middle school girl – but I find that different color pens for different tasks in my planner ALWAYS makes me feel like I have a stronger grip on my week!
Thanks for the inspiration :-) LOVING the supplies!
My slogan is:
cups of tea fix everything.
It’s true.
My favorite office supply is post-its! I absolutely love all the different colors and they’re so useful for jotting down quick little reminders :)
After (too) many years of schooling, I hope that I am now finishing my career as a professional studier by preparing for the bar exam (only 10 days left!!). I have spent so so much time studying in the past weeks, and have come to look at office supplies as my empathetic partners in misery, and my cheerful supportive friends. I love my collection of colored highlighters for brightening my long days. I love my little patterned post-it container with the suction cup on its bottom, and I delight each time I pull a post-it from it and it successfully stays firmly attached to the table. I love the how the rubbery grip on my ball-point pen becomes warm in my hand. And my notebooks: I am thrilled to see the pages full of my writing beneath their colorful covers, and inspired by the empty pages that remind me of how much more there is to do. I especially love my red notebook, because there on the last page I keep a list of all the things I am going to do to celebrate once the bar exam is over :-)
My favorite office supply isn’t really a supply, because I don’t think it’s really a necessary part of any office. It’s my embosser! It has my initials on it in pretty font, and I use it on all the envelopes that I send out to people. It’s so pretty and fun, but I don’t know if it could be considered a supply…:)
The rally cry:
“Do hard things. Bring cake.”
I really REALLY like pens. It’s an awful obsession. If I’m anywhere near a pen aisle I will almost always buy some different ones that I do not need. We have an obscene stash in our house… magnets, too, I think are wonerful!
Oh.my.goodness. I have an office supply fetish. This giveaway is perfect for me. My favorite office supply is probably a colorful post-it pad. Although I love colored sharpies like I love chocolate cake. But I’m a list maker until the end, so I have to have my nightly post-it list!
My tagline for my life is ‘Always a guaranteed smile’.
My Tagline is also my blog’s. And part of my company’s! :D
“A life condensed and full of love!”
But I couldn’t help but answer both questions. Because when it comes to office supplies, I am in heaven. Tis why I worked at Office Depot for years. I love everything. Paper. Pens. Pencils. Random little one use objects made out of plastic. *swoon*
I’m such a procrastinator so I have to constantly remind myself to: “Just do it!”
I have to say I really like novelty shaped paperclips!
It’s a toss up between Sharpies and Post Its!
Glitter! ;-) Sorry. That’s not really an office supply. My favorite supply would have to be index cards–I use them to keep everything organized a la the Hipster and would definitely be in trouble without them.
I love cute notebooks and black ink pens the best. :)
I would like to answer both:
Slogan: “Stay You, Stray True”
Office supply: Staplers. I can make things look professional and put together by stapling them. I can suggest to my reader how to put things together. I can put like things together, different things together, I can make things fit. I love staplers.
i’m a technical writer for educational software, so i spend a LOT of time flipping through paperwork and editing. if it wasn’t for colored paper clips and post its, i would go crazy!
I love office supplies in general and specifically I love those little acrylic do-dads that hold individual slips of paper. I cannot remember what they are called…I’m tempted to call them pads, but when I think of a pad, it has at least one side bound. Know what I am trying to describe?
My favorite office supply has got to be colored pencils, neatly sharpened, in rainbow order. It makes me happy just looking at them.
I think my slogan would be “I can always clean later” LOL! With 5 small children there is always cleaning and laundry to do but I decided that in 10 years I won’t really wish that my house had been neater I’ll be wishing I had done the things I wanted to – so now, I do them because, I can always clean later! :)
My favorite office supply is my daily planner. I plan plan plan both on my planner on paper to plan my time and on an excel sheet where I keep track of my projects and responsibility and decide what tasks to accomplish each day. Yes, I do love planning and my office reflects that!
I use double sided tape all the time- cannot get enough of it! Although, my most used “office supply” is my iphone for sure.
For a slogan, I’m all about “choose joy”
