WIN MARLO NOEL ON THE BRIGHT SIDE PROJECT!

{please visit marlo noel here }

In any industry or field there are always those that are set apart from the rest. Retail is no different. Designers who use fine materials, produce quality pieces and have a unique style stand out. Marlo Bontempo owner of the up and coming shop Marlo Noel definitely catches my eye in this way.

Like many jewelry designers, Bontempo began perfecting her art at a young age with her earliest sales being to friends and teachers at school. Since those days some things have changed but her eye for detail and quality craftsmanship has only gotten better with time.  She still does all of the work herself and Marlo Noel’s pieces are designed to be timeless not trendy–perfect for daily wear and special occasions.

By hand picking gemstones from a company that follows Indian Diamond and Colored Stone Association guidelines. This ensures that workers producing the beautiful baubles have a safe working environment and are paid reasonable wages. The very supplier for Bontempo’s work is the same who produces stones for Tiffany and Co. and other fine retailers. These seeming little details make all the difference in creating pieces that not only sparkle but will stand the test of time.

Inspired by life, Bontempo draws creativity from her days on the California coast and travel memories alive with color. Her collection is anything but typical as she uses festive hues and detailing to reflect the personality of her clients. In her shop you’ll find lovely treasures direct from her imagination but custom jewelry is Bontempo’s pleasure. No matter the occasion, event or outfit I am quite sure that Marlo Noel is a one stop shop for statement jewelry!

I’m pretty sure the first responder never wins, but everything is so pretty I couldn’t wait! I would get three Mary necklaces (either the X or the VII) for my two besties and myself. We are physically separated around the world from each other, and I like the idea of a sophisticated version of a “best friends” necklace to tie us together and remind us of each other every time we wear it!

  2. 2
    Wendyl says:

I would choose the Alice earrings – the rainbow of sapphires are gorgeous! I would wear it with a simple black dress and heels out for a night on the town. I don’t think I’d be able to give them to anyone else!

  3. 3
    Pam says:

I would wear Marlo’s Sophia X Earrings (Peridot) because they look so sparkly and regal. They would brighten my day because of the little dangling jewels and the lovely shape of the larger main jewels; I also love the color green, so my ears would be singing all day long. I would definitely have to pair the earrings with a special outfit—probably my sequin wrap-around sweater, which would complement the sparkle of Marlo’s lovely creation!

  4. 4
    Grace says:

I love the Avery Necklace, and I would wear it to prom!

  5. 5
    Martha Davis says:

I love the Anna II necklace. It would look great with a black turtleneck in the fall and winter and amazing with a flirty little cocktail dress in the spring and summer. Beautiful pieces!

    eleonora manenti says:

I love the Avery Necklace, and I would wear it for a romantic dinner!

  7. 7
    Suzi C says:

I am in love with the Brooke Bracelet.

I would wear it throughout my pregnancy (I’m currently almost 13 weeks, yay!) and beyond…and then give it to my daughter/grandaughter one day as an heirloom.

It is beautiful and I would feel beautiful too, even with every new stretch mark.

  8. 8
    Sara says:

I love the Lucy VIII Necklace … London Blue Topaz. Just looking at the photo of it has brightened my day already. The clear, deep blue of that topaz is mesmerizing. I would wear it whenever I needed a pick me up!

  9. 9
    Sophia R. says:

Maribel III necklace, clear goes with anything, although honestly, if I had the money, I would want one like it every colour to match all my imaginary outfits and it would become my signature necklace. Because those are seriously classy looking drop necklaces. They draw attention but not so much that it would overwhelm an outfit.

  10. 10
    Jennifer says:

I love it all, but I would choose 4 pair of the Sophia VI earrings in smokey quartz for the ladies in my family; mom, sister, sister-in-law and me. The neutral palette would work on all 4 of our very different skin tones. More importantly, it would tie us closer together though physical distance separates us. And who doesn’t love receiving a gift in the mail?

  11. 11
    abir says:

    I would buy two of the Mary XII necklace in different colors, keep one and give one to my mom. {or buy the Lucy IV necklace that one is beautiful as well}

  12. 12
    Roseanna says:

I love the Olivia III necklace (in silver) and the Lucy necklace( in silver)
I could wear these a thousand different ways. Beautiful and feminine jewelry!

  13. 13
    Katie Gill says:

I would give the whole experience of choosing something stunning from the online collection to my niece. I haven’t seen her for years and we could talk about what each piece would go with which outfits and where she’d where them too and then she could choose her first piece of grown up jewellery, she is such a girls girl but the rest of her family just don’t understand her!

  14. 14
    Amanda says:

I really like the Anna IV necklace! I’ve been wanting a charm necklace like this one for a while but haven’t yet found one that I really liked! Hopefully, I will win the contest & finally be able to get one that has caught my eye! :)

  15. 15
    Emma L says:

I would wear the Sophia VI earrings every day. I absolutely love the smokey quartz and that hue brings out the best of my own coloring. I would wear the Sophia VII earrings when I hop off to a cocktail party on Saturday evening as the gorgous pink picks up on the pink tones of my fantastic new cocktail dress, the matching earrings for which I have been dreading to find (so YAY Marlo Noel for making these! They are simply perfect!). Then I would give the Sophia IX earrings to my sister who loves all things ocean colored and especially beautiful earrings, but I would ask to borrow them for my wedding later in the summer; they would be borrowed, and blue, and hopefully still rather new (I’ll have to ask her not to wear them too much, which might be difficult considering how beautiful they are!). The last piece I’d pick is the Maribel III necklace. My grandma is a down-to-earth, cookie-baking 89-year-old superhero who does not have enough pretty jewelry to emphasize her unending grace and beauty.

  16. 16
    Cathy K. says:

The Anna II necklace would be my choice, love the subtle colors for myself – I could see it around my neck for both every day with jeans and a T or dressed for special occassions, love pieces like this. For my sister it would be the Sophia VII earrings, my sister in law would love the Oliva III necklace and I’d gift those to them.

  17. 17
    kelly says:

the sophia X earings…would mak a wonderful mothers day gift for my wonderful mom!

  18. 18
    AmyJo says:

Well, I’m fairly certain any of the pieces from Marlo Noel’s Etsy shop would brighten even the gloomiest of days! I’d love to give the Brooke Bracelet – in Champagne Citrine, Rhodolite Garnet, and Blue Topaz – to my mum. She would adore it, though she would never purchase it for herself. She’s always much too busy giving to someone who “needs it more.” So I’d give it to thank her – for giving up so much for me, and my brother, and countless others. Also, to remind her grand adventures are still in store (for this bracelet reminds me of our travels to Copenhagen … I can’t put my finger on it … but it does).

  19. 19
    Patricia says:

OMG, let me start by saying beautiful, really really beautiful. I also expected to find a large price tag on these pieces when I visited the shop and was happily surprised, definitely going to add to my Etsy favs.
Now for my answer…I just love the Lucy VII necklace, I have always loved rose quartz and to see it like that so pretty, and I also loved that you know that rose quartz should never be on gold, gold will do something wanky to
the energy of the rose quartz.
I would wear it every day all summer, I can see it resting nicely on my neck with a hint of a summer glow.
I would also get my sister a Lucy necklace, I’d just need some time to
figure out which stone for her personality.
The great thing about all the Lucy necklaces is that they are so classic that they will go with everything.
Now I’m off to your shop.

    cindy c says:

I want them all and would wear them or give them to every woman I love. Marlo Noel is a creative genius, and I proudly wear many of her pieces already.

    B. Dukes says:

Holy cow, the Rachelle necklace is amazing! But I instantly connected with the Mary XII. I think it would match my dark blue eyes, and I can see myself both adding it as the final touch when I’m dressed to the nines, and throwing it over even the drabbest of work outfits and feeling just a little more exotic and special. My birthday was last week and I was miserably sick (not to mention 4 months pregnant), so it was a very quiet affair. This would be a wonderful belated birthday treat to myself. I would also have to get the Olivia I for a dear friend who just finalized a tough divorce and followed her heart to move to a new state and start over with a new job. Her birthday is coming up on the Ides of March and her budet is pretty tight right now, so I’d love to get her something special, and the Olivia I fits her personality so well: classic, versatile and so much fun.

  22. 22
    Jessica says:

I love the Blair necklace; it reminds me of a calm day by the sea. I’d wear it now, feeling landlocked by both winter and geography, to carry the spirit of fresh air and cool water with me until it’s summer again–and then I’d wear it on my next trip to the shore, the windows rolled down, the wind in my hair, the sun on my smiling face.

  23. 23
    styleezta says:

my heart goes thump thump thump for the Rachelle Necklace! I would wear it with a little black strapless dress :)

  24. 24

All of the pieces are gorgeous, but I love purple, so I would choose the
Lucy IV Necklace … Amethyst for me. Of course, I’d want to brighten my Mama’s day, too, so I would snag the Charlotte Earrings for her!!!

  25. 25
    jude says:

I’d give the Avery necklace to my mom who has bright blue eyes. This would be the perfect accent to one of her outfits where she wears a nice shirt paired with jeans.

  26. 26
    Jenni says:

The Lucy necklace is stunning. I think I would have to get it in two different colors!! Amythest to wear at all of the activities leading up to my wedding (It’s our color!) and perhaps the blue topaz to fulfill the age old tradition of “something blue” or even “something new” !

  27. 27
    vivi says:

I loved the Taylor necklace. I would wear it with a little black dress and go out to meet my “Mz Fitz” group, a group where great Women meet great Women.

  28. 28

Love the Sophia V earrings in Citrine!

  29. 29
    Lisa says:

I loe the Maribel III Necklace in Champagne – the twists are lovely and the champagne colour could go nicely with a white T or a fancy dress!

  30. 30
    Gretchen says:

Love the Blair necklace…and that is my son’s name. Perfect! I would wear it daily as the colours match just about everything I own. Gosh, it’s really beautiful.

  31. 31
    Deirdre says:

The Sophia X earrings (in Peridot) would brighten my day, because of the beautifully bright color that reminds me of springtime. I would give them to a friend of mine who is marrying her childhood best friend this May, among all of their family and friends. It will be a wonderful wedding, but an even more wonderful marriage.

  32. 32
    Shannon says:

I would choose the Sophia VII Earrings. My best friend in getting married in April and these would go perfect with the bright blue goddess dress I am wearing as a bridesmaid!

  33. 33

Your Madeline III necklace is classically beautiful and caught my attention straight away. Pearls and garnets are two of my favorites.
To complement the necklace, one of your bracelets with a touch of garnet would be lovely.
I see myself flitting around my kitchen wearing your jewelry with a favorite pair of jeans and t-shirt. Topped with my cherry print vintage apron I’ll be a vision of domestic beauty for my dear husband!

  34. 34
    Kara C. says:

I love these pieces!! My favorite is the Taylor necklace. Not only is the mint quartz stunning, but the clasp is so cute and adds a little hidden charm. Despite my love for this piece, I would give it to a coworker – Shirley. She is an older woman that works in another department at the bank who’s pride and joy is her only daughter Taylor (ironically). This necklace name and piece itself totally made me think of her and her daughter and their relationship. She talks about her daughter all the time (good & bad) and despite the bad, she is totally enamored by everything that her daughter accomplishes.

    i love the lucy necklace!

  36. 36
    Ms. Elizabeth says:

No contest – the Lucy VIII (Blue Topaz) is the most beautiful thing I can imagine to wear for my 10th wedding anniversary party! Actually, the necklace would only be on loan because I would give it to my daughter. The necklace that I wore for my wedding (family heirloom) was meant to go to my daughter, but was somehow lost. We were heartbroken and I have been looking for something special to pass on. I can’t think of anything better that I know we’d both love! (And will match both of our eyes!)

  37. 37

My best friend and I backpacked nine Central & South American countries after we graduated college, and on that trip, even though we were about 87 kinds of broke, we both bought these gorgeous wrap dresses at a little street market in Argentina. Now we’re deep in the midst of grad schools on opposite ends of the country, and I haven’t even seen her in nearly a year.

I would get her the Mary III Necklace in Champagne Citrine. We both completely adore looong necklaces, and this would just be stunning with those dresses. The subtle hint of pink under the beige in this stone would really complement her fair skin and strawberry blonde-ish hair, and of course I’d have to get myself a matching goody! I would go with the Mary VII Necklace in Fluorite.

We’ve been talking about getting together for ages, but plane tickets are crazy expensive. I think we have a big reunion planned for Austin City Limits, this massive, epic, wonderful music festival every year. I think that we would have to rock our gorgeous necklaces at this very occasion. With your incredible prices, I suppose I’d have to get her some matching earrings as well – perhaps the Claire Earrings?!

  38. 38
    LRP says:

I adore all of the Mary necklaces, but the XII and VII are my favorites! I would wear it to work – the place where my day needs the most brightening. Oddly enough, I spend my days reading texts from 16th and 17th century England, so the Mary would fit right in. It would remind me that even though I’m just reading about kings and queens, I can still look regal while I do it. I would have to share the brightness by giving the other Mary necklace to my coworker, Olivia, who is always so cheery even on the snowiest and dreariest of days.

  39. 39
    Emily B says:

The Blair Necklace. The subtle shades are so lovely. They remind me of refracting water. I would wear it out on the few dates my husband and I get to go on. I am a new mom and most of the time look like I’ve been dragged in from the street. Something pretty like this would make me feel like a sophisticated woman again, rather than one with rice cereal and spit-up all over her shirt.

I love the Lucy necklaces! I would buy one for myself and one for my brother’s wife. She’s such a beautiful woman and I’d love to treat her to something special and fabulous!

  43. 43
    Samantha S. says:

I would buy the Catherine bracelet and the Madeline VI necklace (the pearl one) and give the Madeline to one of my friends for her 21st birthday, along with a copy of “The Raven” that I’d done in calligraphy. The Catherine bracelet I’d wear with a plum maxidress; immediately go out and have an adventure, and then have wonderful stories to tell when I passed it on to my daughter.

  44. 44
    Susan McA says:

i’m a sucker for earrings..the kate & alice earrings are by far my faves. flirty & fun!

    erika says:

What a gorgeous selection of items!
I like the Mary XII necklace…London Blue Topaz long in sterling silver. I also like the peridot earrings for my Mom. I love to buy her beautiful jewelry and I know they would brighten her day.

  46. 46
    Linnette says:

These pieces are absolutely beautiful and I love their classic nature. My favorite is the Rachelle necklace. I love silver, but my skin tone works better with pinks or browns and I’ve been looking for a necklace with these colors, that also has the versatility to be worn long, or doubled up to be shorter. This greatly increases the amount of wardrobe that it can work with! You can tell it’s a quality piece that is hand made due to the stones being slightly different in shape but still work together beautifully. This gives it texture, but also unity. Keep up the great work!

  47. 47
    Heather says:

I would love http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=27347867 The Lucy VIII in blue topaz. The blue is beautiful and I would wear it everyday!

    Sue Krei says:

Which one?? Now, you are asking the impossible!!! I have to say….”one of each please”!!!!

Your jewelry is so beautiful and I saw several pieces that I’d love to have!! I’ve narrowed it down to three…The Olivia II necklace, the Catherine bracelet (I’m a bracelet freak), and the Lucy VIII necklace. Simple but gorgeous pieces. Your work is fantastic!

  49. 49
    Terry says:

My daughter’s name is Taylor . . . she is a senior in high school and shopping for her last prom dress, leaning towards the teal, pale blue colors. How perfect and special the Taylor Necklace would be and how wonderful it would be to present her with something seemingly made just for her!

    Deneen says:

The Amy & the Lucy necklaces! They’d be my everyday necklaces, and I’d switch back and forth depending on my gold vs. silver mood. Lovely. Simple. Perfect.
