In any industry or field there are always those that are set apart from the rest. Retail is no different. Designers who use fine materials, produce quality pieces and have a unique style stand out. Marlo Bontempo owner of the up and coming shop Marlo Noel definitely catches my eye in this way.
Like many jewelry designers, Bontempo began perfecting her art at a young age with her earliest sales being to friends and teachers at school. Since those days some things have changed but her eye for detail and quality craftsmanship has only gotten better with time. She still does all of the work herself and Marlo Noel’s pieces are designed to be timeless not trendy–perfect for daily wear and special occasions.
By hand picking gemstones from a company that follows Indian Diamond and Colored Stone Association guidelines. This ensures that workers producing the beautiful baubles have a safe working environment and are paid reasonable wages. The very supplier for Bontempo’s work is the same who produces stones for Tiffany and Co. and other fine retailers. These seeming little details make all the difference in creating pieces that not only sparkle but will stand the test of time.
Inspired by life, Bontempo draws creativity from her days on the California coast and travel memories alive with color. Her collection is anything but typical as she uses festive hues and detailing to reflect the personality of her clients. In her shop you’ll find lovely treasures direct from her imagination but custom jewelry is Bontempo’s pleasure. No matter the occasion, event or outfit I am quite sure that Marlo Noel is a one stop shop for statement jewelry!

The Blair Necklace would brighten my day. The softness of the colors with the pearl remind me of winter but the hint of spring is near. I would wear the necklace with everything from turtlenecks to t-shirts, from work to play.
The Sophia II Earrings would definitely brighten my day. I would wear them on special occasions such as a birthday or upscale party.
There are so many beautiful pieces to choose from! I chose the Blair Necklace…Green Fluorite, Iolite, White Topaz, Amethyst, Keishi Pearl….I would give it as a gift to my granddaughter, Valerie, on her 21st birthday this year. She has beautiful blue eyes and auburn hair, and this would be the perfect necklace for her. She is my first grandchild (of 14) and has always been a delight to be with. I haven’t seen her since last May because she is studying at the University of Alexandria in Egypt. I know she would love that beautiful gift!
I love the Lucy Necklace- I would give to my BFF for her 25th bday in March!
The Brooke Bracelet is a beauty and would go with everything with all the colors. It would be a toss up to keep it or give it to my daughter.
Wow, I really love all the items in her shop. If I won I would be able to get my sister a birthday present AND keep something for myself. I really like the London Blue Topaz necklace or the Rhodolite Garnet earrings. And free shipping is awesome!
Marlo Noel’s jewelry inspires such beauty! If I were fortunate enough to win a piece, I would cherish it as it travels with me around the world. I just recently left my steady ad agency job to search the world and be a writer, and a piece of Marlo’s jewelry would go with me everywhere. The Lucy V necklace in Citrine (for my November birthstone) would be thee necklace that would pull me out of my travels and into elegance whenever an unexpected party arises! It would be perfect for those nights when I just need to be a girl again : )
I would wear the Lucy Necklace in the Champagne Citrine on my Honeymoon in Exuma. It would look great on the beach with my bikini and tan skin set against the azure blue waters and dressed up at dinner each tropical night!
I really-really love the Amelia Necklace: Ruby and Sapphires.. it would be perfect to brighten up jeans and a tshirt for everyday wear.. something to pass on to future generations.
I LOVE the Lucy necklace! It would definitely brighten my day- it makes such a statement, yet is still delicate.
absolutely love the Emma Necklace and I would wear it everyday with jeans, with dressy clothes. I would keep it for myself but share with mom and sissy;}
Thank you for the opprotunity!
Just love the “Catherine” bracelet…it’s so feminine and sparkly…yet not gaudy and junky like some of the bracelets out there. I’d wear this summer with white bermuda and jean shorts and soft, pink or turquoise t’s. Would make me feel very feminine.
the Alice earrings in sapphire & citrine are delectable! the question is not “what would i wear them with” – it’s what wouldn’t i wear them with? their candy hues go with EVERYTHING in my colorful wardrobe! i embrace color and i want these earrings to embrace me!! yummmy.
The Sophia IX earrings are lovely! I would wear them with jeans and a T-shirt or a formal dress. They are just timeless-not to mention sparkly!-and could be dressed up or down. I love sparkly!
I love all of the Lucy series necklaces, they caught my eye right away, something just so magical about them….now deciding exactly which one I would want might be a little bit of a challenge!
Oh, I just adore the Olivia II Necklace in the shades of blue. It is delicate and lovely, and I like the versatility of changing the wrapping to alter the length. I would love to incorporate something so lovely into my every-day looks. I like the idea of being able to wear a perfectly glamorous little piece to the office without it looking out of place, or feeling it’s too flashy. That’s kind of how I strive to be, a little bit of brightness in someone’s day, while never drawing too much attention to myself…
I really love the Mary III Necklace … Champagne Citrine Long. I would wear it with something simple and solid. The smoky color draws me into that amazing stone. It’s as though there is a little world full of adventure just waiting within those streams of light dancing around those facets.
Wow. There are so many items in her shop I would wear! I really liked the Rachelle necklace and the Mary XII necklace. Beautiful!
Oh my, I am in LOVE with the Amelia necklace! The colors and design are breath-taking. I suspect I would end up wearing it most of the time!
The Emma necklace would brighten my day because Emma would be wearing the Emma necklace. The opportunity for Emma jokes would then double, allowing me access to an unlimited well of comedy.
Oh my word, the Claire Earrings are divine! Love those colors. As cheesy as it may sound, I would happily give these earrings to my friend Claire!!! who just got engaged 2 weeks ago. I was back and forth on an engagement present and now I know exactly what I would give her. Maybe she could even wear them on her wedding day?!?
Oh my, oh my, oh my. This will take some planning…
On Monday I will wear the spectacular ‘Blair’ necklace to feel radiant, weightless and beautiful as a mermaid.
On Tuesday I will wear the ‘Sophia V’ tinkling citrine earrings, with a tan suit to feel feminine, professional and confident. I will glow in my morning meetings.
On Wednesday I will wear stunning ‘Rachelle’ necklace and shine through the mid week blahs every time I twist the beads.
On Thursday I will wear the ‘Anna IV’ necklace with my hair down and a girly flowing skirt. I will radiate femininity.
On Friday I will wear the seductive ‘Mary XII’. I will be a black hole on this day and draw the light and warmth to me.
On Saturday I will wear the majestic ‘Anna III’ out for dinner and dancing. I will twirl and reflect the candle light and make my date fall in love with me.
On Sunday I will go to brunch with ‘Mary XIII’, we’ll be laid back and elegant together. Sometimes we’ll go alone – just the two of us basking in the sunshine.
It is all great! I think I’d love the Maribel IV Necklace… Mystic Pink Topaz Briolette. It would go with everything from jeans and a white blouse to a little black dress for evening.
I love the Blair Necklace- I would definitely put it in the permanent work to night file! I love the ability to pair it with great work stuff and then still have something fabulous to wear out at night!
The Lucy IV Necklace … Amethyst would definitely brighten my day. Amethyst is my birth stone. My birthday was actually on Feb. 20th. I have a life long curse of having terrible birthdays. This year, I was “quarantined” to my house with my 3 year old son who brought home strep and RSV. So, the Lucy IV Necklace … Amethyst would brighten my birthday and maybe break my bad birthday curse ;)
The Rachelle Necklace…Tourmaline is my absolute favorite. I’d wear it long with a long t, tights, and boots, or wrapped a couple times with a cute tank and a skirt. Or wrapped a bunch of times around my wrist. So many options! Not a chance I would give it to someone.
WowWowWow. So gorgeous. I fell in love with the Amethyst Amy necklace and the Catherine Bracelet … Pink Tourmaline, White Topaz, London Blue Topaz. These simple, elegant designs and stones speak to me. I find I haven’t worn as much jewelry since having a child, but would enjoy wearing these so much, as if I were a butterfly emerging from a cocoon of practicality.
The piece of jewelry to brighten my day is undoubtedly MARY XII! I gave it to my girlfriend, who loves so much blue and jewelry simple and refined, so her smile lighting all my life!
The piece of jewelry would brighten my day is Amy Necklace Amethyst! I would like for myself, because I love the bright color and delicate. I wear it at night, to light my favorite dress: a little short dress of black velvet. I could then attach a Rachel Sky and London Blue Topaz Bracelet, Mint Quartz, Amethyst and Iolite, to create a point of light on my hand …
the ANNA II necklace because it’s garnet and that’s my birthstone!
oh my gosh EVERYTHING in the store is sooo beautiful! if i got to choose anything from this store i would pick the Mary III Champagne Citrine Long Necklace and the Mary VII Necklace Fluorite on long chain-the champagne one i would give to my mom (she loves neutrals and is a big fan of dressing casual, this necklace would help dress up any outfit with ease) and i would take the flourite one (i have green eyes and i am always looking for jewelry that enhances them since they are a dark green and often people think they are hazel)
Wow, to choose from so many beauties!
The Alice earrings are wonderful! The colors sing and I imagine that the swing of the earrings would capture everyone’s eye. I would have to keep these beauties for myself to wear on sunny days and brighten up the gray days, too. I suppose I could share them with my sisters… ;-)
Tough question. How could you possibly choose? Maybe one every month? For now . . . . I would choose the Taylor Necklace – I think the mint color could sit in for my birthstone – aquamarine?
Wow…everything is absolutely stunning!
I would love to have the Champagne Citrine Lucy necklace for myself and the Claire earrings as a gift for my sister.
For sure the Madeline Coin Pearl and London Blue Topaz necklace. Not only would it put a smile on my face but also my mothers. I am getting married in July and I think that necklace would look absolutely beautiful on her. I couldn’t think of anyone else that deserves it more than her.
The Alice Earrings…Sapphire and Citrine would brighten my day because I would feel glamourous wearing them. All of the different colors would brighten my day because all of those colors are in my life and represent different aspects of my life that all combine into one thing..me.
Wow, all of the pieces are so beautiful – it’s really almost an impossible choice! I would go with the Emma necklace, just because I absolutely love the combination of colors! I would wear the necklace over a solid colored tank (I live in California, so the weather is relatively warm) with dark skinny jeans!! I would also allow my sisters to borrow the necklace or would even consider giving it to my sister if she really liked it :)
All of the pieces are beautiful – making deciding difficult. I love the colors in the Emma necklace. But, I think I would choose the Anna V Necklace. As far as what I would do with it….that’s easy….I would give it to my new daughter in law. Either that or just let her choose what she would like. I’m positive that would brighten her day. She absolutely loves bead jewelry.
I love the Blair Necklace! I would wear this piece to my organizing seminars, with a simple black or grape colored top to give the participants something interesting to look at while I speak. Nothing like a little sparkle to add interest to a presentation!
Wow! All I can say is ” How do you make a choice”? Her jewelry is so fantastic. Her attention to detail is amazing and her use of colors is impeccable. I love the Avery necklace and would wear it dressed up or with a tee shirt and jeans. I know I would be the envy of all of my friends.
I think you meant to say “wear” not “where”, but you know, you’re the supplier of the sparkling awesomeness so I’ll just ignore that. (I am a spelling freak.)
I would probably snatch the Brooke Bracelet up without another thought because the deep rich pink of the Garnet is so pretty with the crisp blue… [:
And how would I wear this? Duh, on my nose. I mean, it’s a bracelet. What else do you do with it?
wow…what amazing art. I would choose the Lucy V– the champagne color is amazing. I would give it to one of my best friends, Lacey for her 30th birthday. It would be perfect with her hair and skin tone. She has been a great friend to me for 17 years and this would be a perfect way to show my appreciation.
About halfway through looking at all of these lovely pieces, I had decided the Olivia II and III necklaces were definitely my favorite, when I saw a piece that not only had the same name as me, but had the same spelling too! I still think the Olivia II and III necklaces are my favorites, but I would be very torn between the Elisabeth earrings as well…I love their ethereal quality, and the fact that they were inspired by flowers is very evident! As for how I would wear either of these pieces, I think I would go with Marlo’s own suggestion and wear them with a simple tank top and cardigan so that they would be the focus of the outfit.
I would love the Anna V necklace, and it will look beautiful with a soft, short-sleeved sweater cardigan in light blue that ties with a satin sash in front. Gorgeous, and I will wear it to celebrate the clear blue skies of Spring!
I am loving the Olivia VIII necklace – it would coordinate beautifully with my vast array of little black dresses!!
I love the Taylor and would wear it with my jeans, a button down white shirt and a killer pair of shoes. Simple and casual mixed with a little va va voom!
I really love how Marlo has her gems cut, It makes them stand out to other jewlery. I thought the prices were really resonable too. So reasonable in fact that every woman in my family could get one, AND mothers day is in a few months, the necklaces would make great gifts. The Annabel II necklace would look good on my mother, plus the cut is exquisite, it’s dynamic just like my mom. The Anna IV necklace would be perfect for my grandmother, it has timeless qualtiy and look. My little sister was helping me pick out the necklaces and liked the Anna III necklace. It would be something that she could grow up with and still wear as an adult. Then last but not least I would love the Madeline III necklace for myself. I have a weekness for pearls and red gems and Marlo presents them well together.
I love the Olivia II Necklace, I am imaging myself going to a chic restaurant with it :)
Stunning pieces! Thanks for sharing.
I would choose the Lucy VIII necklace – the blue topaz is amazing.
I would wear my hair up with a simple, white sweater and jeans to show off the necklace.
Where would I wear it?
It would be good occasion to ask my husband out to dinner.
I love the blair neclace! I think it’s dainty enough to work with flouncy skirts, boyfriend jeans, or dress-up dresses. So lovely!
