{please visit evapaul here}

There are “Evite” invitation people and there are “hard copy” invitation people. As with most things in life, I fall somewhere in between. I love the ease of an “Evite” but offer me a sumptuous tangible invitation and I am much more likely to attend. It’s faulty logic, but it’s mine.  Rising above the competition is no easy feat given the overwhelming number of companies specializing in custom invitations. Nic and Kirsten Bingham, the husband and wife team behind evapaul, rise above with ease, class and impeccable style.  I found myself planning a fake wedding to justify falling in love with so many of their designs. The typography nerd in me is partial to the ‘ANNA’ save the date card while the PAISLEY invites make me want to get married right this very second. The ‘HAZEL’ invitation makes me want to wait until summer. Sigh, fake weddings are hard to plan.

Here’s a secret:  evapaul doesn’t just do weddings. They will customize any design to fit your needs and will even create a new one for you. Yes, they are that amazing.

Miss Krista, our Weekend Editor, is a mother, a lover and a big believer in the power of a cupcake. She loves double entendres but is not a fan of the high-five. She blogs about the corners of her heart at my life as i see it.

Evapaul is giving away a custom wedding invitation with up to 50 invitations (with more available at a discounted rate.) Not getting married? No problem. They will design a custom invitation for any event you have coming up. No events? No problem. They’ll make you simple notecards, thank you cards, etc.In order to win, please answer the following question by Thursday, March 4th., 2010

    Jenni says:

    I would spend it on there beautiful earrings that would be perfect for my sister to wear in the wedding. She is my maid of honor and they would look perfect with her dress. A little something extra to let her know how much I love her. :)

    Leslie says:

    Jewelry, baubbles, and sparkly things to make an old outfit new again!

    Susan says:

    $100 can seem like so much to one person, and so little to another. Give $100 to a child and their eyes glaze over like they’ve just been handed one million – just think of all of the toy and candy options! Give $100 to a family just making it from paycheck to paycheck, and visions of groceries and toilet paper, and maybe that one special extra splurge for the makings of rootbeer floats for her family’s weekly game night, drift in the mother’s head. Give $100 to a millionaire and perhaps she or he will say thanks and tuck it away in savings, or maybe go out to lunch or hand the money off to someone who needs it more – one can hope. Give $100 to a homeless man and just maybe he’ll find a cheap hotel and hand his hat up there for a couple of days with a comfy bed, a roof over his head, a hot shower and a place to wash his clothes and have some privacy.

    Give $100 to me, and as much as I wouldn’t mind taking it to get the haircut I’ve been dreaming about for years (yes, it’s been years since I’ve treated myself to a professional haircut) or asking a friend I haven’t been able to hang out with for over a year out to a nice lunch or going on a lovely family outing to the beach where the snacks would be plentiful and the cost of gas wouldn’t matter so much and the purchase of those new kites would bring such wonderful smiles to the faces of my children… I’d probably say “Thank you very much. This is so generous of you. But would you mind very much if I took this money and gave it to someone whom I know who really and truly needs this gift?” And if you said, “yes, of course,” I’d immediately run it over to my friend who was aid off from his job over seven months ago and is still very actively but seemingly hopelessly looking for work and a way to provide for his family. Sure, the $100 wouldn’t last very long, but I know it would go toward necessity and would bring a small glimmer of hope. And that would be more than worth it :)

    Laura D says:

    I would selfishly spend it on a new outfit to wear after my first child is born (any day now!!). I am all-too-sick of my one pair of prego jeans and the 5 shirts I have been rotating through.

    Gali says:

    I have an obsession for old postcards, I love going to thrift and antique shops and looking for the funkiest cards available and then sending them out to people. I often joke that postcards represent about 10% of my monthly budget (yeah, stamps aren’t cheap these days!)… I could send quite a few cards with an extra $100. My family probably would hate me though, they’re starting to run out of place on their “Gali” walls.

    I, too, would give the money away. I’d give it to Heifer International. I’m slightly jealous of the people who get to live with animals in such an intimate way… even more so than American farmers. I have always wanted to donate to Heifer International.

    I’d give it to the Bansang Hospital Appeal in the Gambia, in West Africa- I worked there for heartbreaking four months, and I’ve never come across a place where so little money can do so much fr so many. $100 would buy them so many basic medical supplies that they’re severely lacking!

    The selfish part of me would want to spend the $100 on me – me- me! Maybe a nice bottle of wine, a day of pampering, a fabulous dinner, or a new scarf (love me some scarves!)……………but the RIGHT thing for me to do would be to donate to my favorite charity – Project Night Night (http://www.projectnightnight.org/) – this money could provide for four children in homeless shelters to have a blankie, book, and stuffed animal. Wonderful program!
