CHANDRA RUGS

Every so often a product comes along and makes waves throughout the design world and the blogosphere. In August of last year two equally talented forces combined talents and the internet definitely took notice. Chandra Rugs and Amy Butler collaborated to offer her amazing designs on their high quality rugs and that my friends, is when floors of the world were forever changed!
Chandra rugs are among the most coveted in the industry and for good reason. At Chandra, they know the importance of personal style and strive to create fresh, modern rugs that will stand the test of time in both function and fashion. Ravi Tiwari, Vice President of Chandra says their motto: “High Design. High Value” is a simple statement that says it all.
When working to produce the collection Amy Butler traveled to India to work with Tiwari and his team. Together they selected the finest 100% New Zealand wool which textile masters carve using special scissors. It takes three men two days to carve each area rug by hand! The company uses no harsh chemical washes, the industries safest chrome dyes and natural latex adhesive to create their fine rugs.
The Amy Butler collection keeps with Chandra’s mission to promote traditional handmade Indian rugs while defining a new area in design. It is a perfect marriage of classic and modern elements. The rugs are available in 19 patterns based on Butler’s original designs and come in two sizes.
I challenge you to find a home whose style would not be instantly amplified by one of these rugs. An entire room could easily be designed around a Chandra rug and conversely these rugs are the perfect finishing touch to any room that needs an extra touch. At the moment I’m contemplating turning my home in to a mini Chandra showroom. The only problem? I don’t have 19 rooms!

I would put this rug in my front hall! I haven’t been able to figure out how to cozy up our entryway and this would be great. The dogs aren’t allowed up there, and that way everyone would see this beautiful rug!
Oh my! You have got to be kidding! Wow….this rug is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t believe how good to us you all are! I would definitely put this beautiful rug in my living room. It is the perfect colors & we spend all of our time in there….it would make the room so cheerful & perfect! Thank you so much for this opportunity everyone. I love, love, love it!

I would love to put a rug in our living room, but the colors of this rug just scream to be put in the master bedroom, as it would coordinate with the colors of that room so much better
I would put it in the dining room. It would brighten up the entire room! It would be perfect!
That rug is phenomenal! I’ve never been a rug person, but after seeing this one I definitely want one for each room when we get a house. Right now since we’re in a small apartment I would put it in the living room. This would add some color and personality!
Oh my! I can hardly contain myself. This beautiful rug is a piece of art. It is stunning and I want it. I have a lovely writers loft in my little condo, which is nestled in the forest next to a lovely lake. It is my inspiration place. This stunning rug emulates my personality perfectly. To be able to put my bare feet on it while holding a steaming cup of coffee in the morning, well, I know words of joy would gush! No need to struggle with writer’s block if something as lovely as this rug were in my creative space. Oh joy!

This beautiful rug wouldn’t be unrolled until I stepped into my new home in the mountains of Colorado. My current house is way too dirty, I would want it to rest in a sacred place.
oh my goodness, this just may be my favorite bright side project piece of sunshine yet! i am about to be a newlywed and we just graduated from college, aka- can’t afford a rug! we will be living in an apartment and i would love love love this beautiful rug to go in our living to spice up our apartment.
thank you!
Oh my goodness!! Wow! I would definitely put this in my craft room. This is the room where I create, dream, experiment, and smile most. (not to mention that the colors would match perfectly in the room!)…. I am also wanting to jump in to the world of sewing – and this…being an Amy Butler design (my absolute favorite fabric designer – by the way — honestly. I’m not just saying that!) would really help me get in the sewing-mindset!
It would be perfect in our living room! We just have hard wood floor in the living room and that plush looking rug would definitely take the room a more “grown up” level.
I would put it in our solarium so that it would get a lot of sunshine and hopefully grow another beautiful rug.
i would wrap it around my body like a sarong and wear it all over my house! :) truthfully, i would lovingly place it in my living room, which moonlights as my “home office”. . . this rug would make me happy while i worked all day, and when i relaxed at night. .
thanks for such a wonderful offering!! amazing!!!!
WOW! Wishing On Wool! … When I was 19 I took my bike to NZ for 3 months…helped out at a farm during sheering season… I’ve never forgotten this incredible time in my life and always hoped to get back there as an adult…. this beautiful rug is most likely the closest I will come…any chance of the sparkle of those gorgeous colors of NZ countryside in my life right now, would be an absolute blessing.
I would actually gift this rug to my brother and sister in law who lent me a rug for my first apartment…which let’s just say is MIA….This rug would look amazing in their living room….colors match perfectly to their walls and sofa. Would make a perfect fit. I own them one. Big time!!! Help!!!!
Either the dining room or bedroom, it would look awesome under my farmhouse table or in our bedroom next to our huge black bed with white bedding!
I would put it in my bedroom because I have 4 sons and I’d want to enjoy it without worrying they’d destroy it. It’d be a little piece of heaven in my sanctuary.
I would give this rug to my mother and we agree the best place to put it is in the dining room. It is the heart of our home, where everyone gathers for good food and conversation. It’s a place where everyone could see it. The dining room is also known as the “art room” where we display art made by members of our family on every wall. The room would be complete with this artwork under our feet!
our apartment is really only one room…but it needs color, we have a grey carpet now!!! LOVE your carpets!!! the advantage of having this carpet in a studio, is the carpet is enjoyed from everywhere in the apartment!!!
I would totally show this rug off in my living room! The colors would coordinate PERFECTLY with our current design scheme! Oh how I will covet this rug, and cross my fingers and toes to win it!!! ♥♥♥
I’ll put the rug in the conference room of Wild Ones Niagara, Niagara Falls, NY home to 6 million plus tourists, annually. We’ve restored a 1930’s building on Main Street, with vintage style, rosewood stained beadboard and arts and crafts color. Perfect.
first of all… I love Amy Butler designs!!!
I have a large master bath… this run would be gorgeous in my master bathroom! I would use in my bathroom because that is the room that i spend nearly an hour every morning getting ready for work, and what better way to be inspired first thing in the morning!
Wow, I can’t even imagine winning this beautiful rug! But if I do it would go in my Living Room where I spend the majority of my time. I could enjoy it daily as I read, create, and dream up projects. What an inspiring piece!
Definitely in my sunroom. Although if I win we’re going to have to learn to “hover” because I’m not sure I could handle walking on such a glorious piece of art! Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration!!
Ohmigoodness. This is the best prize you’ve ever had up for grabs here! Oh I LOVE it! If I won, this would sit proudlyand gorgeously in our living room where I could show it off to guests, and starting that say we will have a “no shoes on inside the house” household policy ;)
I would probably put it in my at-home-office. It is an extremely well sunlit room, since it’s on a corner. Deep dark wood window panels and trim, with offset white walls; it also have french doors leading into it. I think if have I the right amount of color splash could really pull this room together, to make is that much beter! I do feel a rug could/would do that.
Amazing rug! I’ve been eyeing these for a while. I would put this rug in our spare room. The room is fairly small, so we had to say sayonara to a traditional bed and put a sleeper chair (in light blue–perfect with this rug!) and dresser in the room… but the floor is bare. This rug would really ground the room.
In this room I’m in right now since the walls are a very pale blue. It’d make the room cute and warmer!
Easy – Our living room!! For the past 10 years we’ve rented a lovely home with the most heinous green wall-to-wall carpet. We finally have our landlord’s blessing to install hardwood! In the next two weeks our living room gets its long awaited, way overdue makeover!!! This gorgeous rug would be the most amazing finishing touch!! Not to mention the fact that the colors would look lovely with our green and gray walls and our chocolate leather couch. A girl can dream…
I would put it smack dab in my livingroom! Not only would it work nicely for the summer color scheme in my (freshly painted this weekend!) livingroom, and fit my love of bright unique lovely things, it would be a nice treat for my hubby. See, I love wood floors. Love love love. He loves carpet. Love love love. But he loves me, and so he ripped up our carpet to get to the wood floors underneath. Now he has cold feets and I’m hoping to find a lovely rug to keep his feets warm when he’s sitting down in the livingroom, because I love him too. Then everybody’s happy! I’d just buy a rug but I want something nice and also we’re doing hard and heavy renovations so money isn’t exactly pooling at our feet.
It would absolutely go into my daughter’s room. She’s just beginning to exert her own personal sense of style and design and she peered over my shoulder and went, OH WOW! when she saw this lovely room accent. For her birthday (in May) we’re letting her re-design/decorate her bedroom and BOY would this be an amazing way to start! =) Sure, I’d be jealous, but a Mama must foster bold, bright aesthetics in her child young!
Let’s see. I am 5′6″. If I wrapped it just so, it would allow 3 inches for breathing and 3 for toe wiggling. I wouldn’t want this beauty out of my site.
I know exactly where it would go! Into my new studio! It would be seen by every client that comes in, and it is VERY likely that I would photograph kids on it too! It’s beautiful!
in my new dining room, because there are so many windows and I think this would look awesome in the light…So beautiful!
OMG what a fabulous giveaway. I’d love this rug in our “Love Shack” and would place it in our combination dinning/livingroom area. So fresh and new, just love the bold graphic pattern that is still classic.
Wow… this rug is beautiful. I so gravative to those colors. We are living in my mother’s basement right now. She is elderly and so we are helping her and financially it is helping us. This rug would so make the basement smile! I think it would actually go with our furniture and it would be perfect with our wall colors. I would place it in front of our sofa and find a fitting coffee table to let the rug shine through. Thank you for the chance to win this wonderful prize! This sight does really brighten up ones day!
That is one gorgeous rug! I would put it in our living room, where the whole family could enjoy it. I don’t want us to be one of those families that save the nicer things “for good” or for later, I want us to use our lovely things.
I would love to put this in my office. I work from home and just redid the entire space to make it more comfortable, stylish and relaxing but it’s still missing something. This would add the perfect accent to a room I spend so much time in!
what ever room it chooses…
In my living room. It would match perfectly with my turquoise couch!
WOW this rug would go straight to the everything room…tv, dining, dressing/closets, and office. Oh the joys of little apartment living. It would be the perfect addition to our newlywed life.
oh this would go beautifully right in front of my white dresser! the lovely floral colors would absolutely pop up again the clean white look of the dresser.
This rug would be perfect in my family room, which is very homey, beachy, and fresh, but also BIG – so it would be a great place to show off this brilliant rug!
My grandmother, Zella, would have ADORED this rug… had it been purple (she was an amazing but monochromatic woman). My daughter, also Zella, would cherish this rug – its beautiful colors, textures and pattern. She’s a very tactile being and as she has been dubbed Zella Blue this piece seems fitting. For all those reasons, if we were graced with this fabulous piece, it would reside in Zella’s room.
I would put it in my studio. I need to spend more time in there creating and this rug would inspire me to do that.
Wow. I would put this rug in my bedroom so that when I woke up, it’s the first thing my feet would touch. That would make me smile.
Then I would move it to the hall, just outside the bathroom door (wouldn’t want to risk damage by bringing it into the showere room with me!)
The rug, I think I’d name her… maybe Pauline? She and I would then make our way to the living room where I’d gaze at her from the dining room table as I eat my breakfast.
The really hard part would be carrying her down the three flights of stairs to the car for our trip in to work. No elevator. I might have to hire someone. We’d find a way.
In short – she’d be my new best friend. (Sorry husband)
It would have to go in my bedroom, because that is the last place to get any attention and this would be an easy way to “spoil” it in a big way and make up for lost time.
If I won this rug, it would make it’s way straight into my bedroom. Its calm, comforting hues and bold patterns would make my room relaxing and friendly but the commercial space is not, so it is nice to come home. I also do all my homework and research in my room, so it can’t be simply comforting because that wouldn’t be profitable.
If I won this rug, I would put it in my jewelry room. It would go great with my white shelving and calm ambience. Oooh, I want!
Our living room, it’s where we spend the most time. And it matches our decor!
I’d place it in the living room, which is also the office and then den of our one-bedroom Portland apartment. We’re students, so building a collection of un-student-y furnishings and textiles is an uphill battle, but this rug would certainly help…
