PLUM PRETTY SUGAR
{please visit plum pretty sugar here}
Can you believe our 5th month of brightening up the internet ends today? I don’t know about you, but I am ready to curl up with a book on the sofa in my favorite robe. Preferably a super rad robe I won for free at one of the internet’s brightest spots on the web. {Hypothetically speaking, natch.} I love robes, of course. Comfy, cozy, simple, sexy–I own robes for each season, and can’t imagine padding around the house in the early morning or late evening without one of my beloved robes. In fact, I will go out on a limb and say you need not buy blankets with arms off late night television when you own a proper robe.
And I am challenged to find a robe more delicious than this knee high silk number from designer Charlotte Mills of Plum Pretty Sugar. Mills seeks to exalt lounge wear, as if their mission is not painfully obvious. The robe is made from habutai silk from India in colors of turquoise, pink, and white. It’s knee high, self tying, and oh so sexy. It’s also yours, our final gift to you in celebration of June’s Print + Pattern month.
Plum Pretty Sugar is giving away one kimono silk robe to the luck reader who best answers this question by Tuesday, July 7, 2009.
What color makes you most happy, and why?
Please start checking the winner’s box on Wednesday, June 8, 2009.

My most favorite color of all is green…. might be due to living in the mountains in Colorado for a long time where everything is burned-out and and dusty looking – then moving back to Pennsylvania where there are more shades of green than I can count.. from almost neon green to lush dark emeralds… just makes me happy.
red makes me most happy, and always has – I’m still amazed that my mom let me have a largely-red room for all of my childhood. Now red’s a little less everywhere, but I smile when I see it in my husband’s dark lips, in the roses growing outside my door, on the cans of Coca-Cola that I always have at hand, on a pair of pretty shoes. Wearing red just puts me in the right frame of mind to have a good day, no matter what.
Orange! It is the happiest of all colors, after all.
pink. when i was little my room was absurdly pink and i hated it. {it’s funny because i think that the only reason i hated it so much was because it was chosen for me!!} now i love pink because it reminds me of how much i’ve changed and how i’ll never stop growing and changing as years keep going by.
many colors make me happy, so it’s hard to choose. today i’d say white — technically it contains all the colors, and it represents a fresh start, a clean slate, a bright hope, and a clear, unashamed joy.
Light yellow makes me happy – It feels like crisp linens with a lemon citrus smell that I could just fall asleep in.
orange when you have been thru hades and back nothing makes you more happier then family and the color orange and i try to surround my enviroment in it my curtains are orange a throw rug a few of my wind chimes ectera ectera go orange
BLUE – there is nothing more calming or exciting than blue – it goes with anything and looks good with everything – my eyes are even blue !!!!
i gotta go with aqua. same color as the “submit” button!! score
I love bright, slightly blue-ish white. It reminds me of ice skating and hours upon hours of hard, satisfying work.
Orange of course! It’s always happy, and brightens my day every time I see it. I think you have to have an open heart to see it everywhere too but its always such a reward when you do – in the sunset, in autumn leaves, in glassware, in the beautiful glints in auburn hair, in the relflections of light that my new engagement ring casts on my face :-)
While I enjoy all colors, and especially unique combinations of them, I LOVE robin’s egg blue… it reminds me of my mom, her eyes are the same color and when she was little she raised a Robin as a pet. She also passed her gorgeous eye color on to me… so every time I get a compliment on my eyes I think of her.
Turquoise. It’s so bright and fresh! It reminds me of my mother (it’s also one of her favorite colors), the beach, the sky…sigh. It’s marvelous.
A deep red can lift my spirits. It reminds me of the blood constantly rushing through my veins, allowing for love, and life.
Pink is my favorite. It makes me feel girly. =D
I almost can’t look at this robe, as it is so pretty!
I could only imagine wearing it!
RED! Like all colors, it comes in a myriad of hues and shades.
It looks great on Me … dresses, undies, & bikinis, whatever. It makes a great neutral for shoes and handbags, including my red Converse and red flip-flops for the casual days. It’s the color of my Mom’s beautiful hair and the color of freedom on the stripes of the US flag. It’s the color of hearts and of love and red roses too. The color of childhood; red rosy cheeks, my first red wagon, red tricyles, red sleds. Red plaid dresses with winter red stockings. It’s the color of Christmas; red striped candy canes, Holly berries, and Santa. The color of my Dive flag, as well as warning signs and lights to keep me alert. Strawberries, cherries, pomegranates, blood oranges and beets! YUM!
Red nails, red lips, red wine, red velvet dresses, red velvet cake! Red glowing ambers in a campfire. Red doors, fireworks and red winter noses. Red hots, red hot racing cars and the red earth under my feet while hiking. Dorothy’s ruby red slippers, red rubies for that matter! And red in the sky at Sunrise and Sunset! I could go on….
Turquoise is my favorite color because it’s cool and deep like the ocean but has hints of the desert’s warmth, where the stones are mined. It also carries with it the power and wisdom of the native american cultures that used the stone of this color in reverence.
Bright greens, they are so fresh and clean feeling!
It’s a color palette for me: deep blue, sunny yellow, and pops of orange, with a hint of plum and magenta. It’s the color of the summer sunset!
sea foam – i laugh every time it is said aloud. I laugh because my boyfriend, a boat builder, told me with great earnestness, that seafoam was his favorite color and he paints some element in every one of his boats this color. it makes me happy to have a boyfriend who will admit such a thing.
The deep wild grey of the Baltic sea, peppered with the dark gold of our late winter Scandinavian sun. It might sound like a dull and depressing color but there is nothing more exhilarating and nothing more inspiring than the depth and wild force of that salty hue.
Cerulean. It was my favorite Crayola in the box when I was little, and the color still makes me smile!
I love the rusty red/brown of my dog’s chin. She’s black everywhere else, but for some reason she’s grown a really long reddish beard. Somebody had shaved her when we found her at the pound. Over time we noticed that she was developing a really cute old-man-with-a-beard-and-crazy-eyebrows face. It was such a funny surprise. Watching her scraggly red beard come in and totally change her look has been such a silly source of joy. She looks ridiculous and we wouldn’t change it for the world (much to the dismay of our fancy pants groomer!)
My most fav color is TEAL, it remainds me of the ocean, just fresh and clean!! I love the convo of colors on this robe they are Amazing!!!
Greenish-yellow: That’s my version of happy sunshine! Fresh, optimistic, bright — that is what makes me smile when I see that color.
Pink…anything and everything pink!
Red because of the life and passion it brings. I believe we need colors in our lives that suppliment our weaknesses and fears. We are drawn to some colors that we can hide and rest in, but there are other colors – colors unlike us – that challenge us. Red is one of those colors for me.
