Shakespeare once wrote “Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments.”  Melissa Dubbs, the face behind Madison Reece Designs, merges two true loves of mine in every piece she creates. Dubbs combines unique and rustic silver jewelry (love no. 1) and custom personalized design (love no. 2) to turn out stunningly sweet necklaces, charms and bracelets. Lean in, put your ears close. This jewelry speaks.

The Fine Silver Birdie Necklace whispers sweet nothings to your clavicle. The Fine Silver Giving Tree, adorned with a pearl and crystal, reminds you to take a break in the shade.  The Rustic Silver Collection – As I Wait effortlessly allows you to carry spring with you, no matter the season.  Are you feeling the love yet? I thought so.

“If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved.”

    Katie G says:

‘Will you be my girlfriend’? Said shyly by my 30 year old boyfriend after weeks of dating. He said he had no right to know where I was the night before and he hated no knowing so he asked me officially. I hadn’t meant to say yes but it was ‘yes’ that came out, and we were married on last Saturday, 3 years later!

    Jessica says:

My (now) husband wrote me a song when he proposed – in it there was a line —

And I won’t care if all your hair turns grey – and you no longer fit in that old wedding dress. Together forever.

    Tasha says:

I would have to say it is “I love you” I know simple, but my husband says it to me all the time and it is still my favorite thing to see OR hear. I guess because I know he really means it.

    Mae says:

When I was in college, I read Anne Morrow Lindberg’s Gifts from the Sea, which describes the different stages of love. My husband of 38 years has written many beautiful and truly touching letters and poems expressing his love for me and has even composed a song for me. We’re at stage in our lives that it’s just the two of us at home so we usually do the dishes together. He continues to touch my heart with his thoughtfulness when I hear him say, “I’ll do the dishes tonight. You rest.” Now that’s what you call wooing!

    Sarah says:

I am think my answer maybe cheating, but the most romantic things my husband says to me, are the things he doesn’t say. My darling husband i so patient with me and supports me in so many ways, but most importantly he accepts me. I am so racked with insecurities that there are times I question the color nail polish I am wearing. But the one person that I don’t have to question myself around is my husband. When I am having a bad day and stomping around he is understanding. When I am acting crazy he laughs with me. When I decided to start a blog that features a lot of recipes he gave me cooking utensils for Valentine’s day. It’s not like he doesn’t say sweet things. But when I think about the most romantic thing he “says” to me, I think of the ways he says that he loves, accepts and cherishes me by not speaking.

    jennifer says:

it happened when i was in college….

the boy of my dreams (at the time) was a waiter a a local restaurant. we knew each other well and had been flirting for months… but neither of us had made the first move. a girlfriend and i went to the restaurant for lunch one day. said boy of my dreams brought the check, and left it face down on the table. on the back was my name – JEN ….cute, i thought..

when i turned the check over – instead of my bill, was a question:

    How do you spell Beautiful?

……. i think it took me a minute, but then i felt butterflies in my stomach, and then… you know the feeling – like walking on air

    Tina S. says:

The most romantic thing that was ever said or written to me was when my boyfriend at the time, and this was way before the internet, spent days researching how to say “I love you” in different languages. He sent me a letter filled with I love you. Too bad it didn’t last!

    Carla C. says:

My husband and I walked down the aisle to “Ice Cream” by Sarah McLachlan. For a wedding present he got me an iPod with “It’s a long way down…” inscribed on it. Every time he gets me something, he quotes our song. One time he bought be flowers and the card said “Better than chocolate, better than ice cream.” with no name. And for our fifth anniversary, he’s replaced my iPod with another slick purple one. Yet again “It’s a long way down…”

  9. 209

When my husband proposed, he wrote a song for me. A musician and songwriter, he had never played me any songs that he had written about me. He called me up in front of a group of 300 people and say and played the song for me, saying words like “40 years could not tear down the love I have. And if your stricken ill I’ll stay forever by your side” & “I love you with all that I now can, can I hold your hand forever”. “stay with me & I’ll stay with you- please say I do”. 5 years later it still makes me swoon.

    Connie says:

    “Your eyes… they sparkle.”

    erika says:

The most romantic things from my husband are his actions; taking care of me when I got sick during both of my pregnancies, caring for our babies late at night, and then being there for me when I had a tumor removed last November. He loves me and he shows it.

  12. 212
    Jann says:

“You are so beautiful.” This is one of the first things my hubby said to me when we started dating. Almost 17 years later, when I lament the fact that I’ve gained a few pounds, or I have developed a crepey neck after going through menopause, or I am suffering with one of my migraines and look and feel horrible, or when I am harried and tired after watching grandchildren all day, or even when I get up in the morning and gasp when I look in the mirror –this sweet man tells me every day, “You are so beautiful!”

  13. 213
    Sarah S. says:

My husband wrote a song about me long before we were ever dating. He was moving to France and was thinking about how hard it would be, but the line, “And he tries it, without her…” that one was about me :)

  14. 214
    Jennifer says:

When my husband proposed, he sang the Old 97s song “Question”. Aside from our wedding day, it was the best moment of my life.

  15. 215
    Carlee says:

“Follow your dreams. I’ll follow you.”

It makes me feel a little more brave every time I think about it.

  16. 216
    Rachel says:

When we first started dating (six years ago!) my boyfriend sent me a text message that said, “Smile.” It did make me smile! And I loved how the single word contained so many meanings – he selflessly wanted me to be happy even though he was not with me, he wanted me to be physically affected by his message, there was an implication that he liked my smile, and it made me think of him. I still smile when I think of him (so cheesy!).

  17. 217
    Christy says:

My husband set up a personal greeting for me on his cell phone. Every time I call him and leave a message, I get to hear him say that he is glad to hear my voice and that he loves me. So sweet!!!

  18. 218
    Jennie says:

The most romantic thing a man has ever said to me is that he never wanted to have children until he met me, the woman with whom he wanted to have children.

  19. 219
    Meghann says:

When my now-husband was studying abroad while we were dating in college, he sent his best friend to serenade me with “Beyond the Sea” in my dorm, in front of everyone, while his friend’s gal caught it all on video.

  20. 220
    Kim F says:

Since I’m a very tired Momma of three I have to say the most romantic thing is my dh saying “you sleep in hon, I’ll go get him”. LOL:)

  21. 221
    Jane S says:

While I lived down the hallway from this guy, I could never get a handle on him; I wasn’t sure if he liked me (not just in the romantic way–I couldn’t tell if he enjoyed even seeing me around). He was skittery and I was nervous, and it was mixed signals all over the place. The night before he moved (without warning anyone in the building), he left one of the most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever received on my doorstep. I still don’t know exactly what happened, but I do know that I won’t forget it.

  22. 222

The most romantic thing my husband ever said to me was when he told me about the moment he knew we were forever: “when I saw you walking down the stairs, you looked so beautiful, I knew I had to marry you…”
and that he told a friend that he “couldn’t get me out of his mind”. We have two beautiful children now and have been married for 13 years.

  23. 223
    Rebecca says:

The most romantic [and moving] thing? My husband saying “i love you” and “you are my best friend” after 29 years of marriage :) Simply perfect.

  24. 224
    jenn ravey says:

The most romantic thing – In an email from a man I love dearly: “Just wanted to point out that because of you, the sun is shining, the sky is still blue, and on the day of your birth all flowers were born.”

    Swoon.

  25. 225

Whenever Paul suddenly has to say I love you and I love our life randomly – it is so spontaneous and true and makes me feel great and loved.

  27. 227

“You complete me”. Oh wait, I keep having to tell myself I’m not Renee Zellweger. Time for the meds.

    Mona says:

When he said “Take off your glasses”. So I answered “But I wouldn’t see then”. He replied “But I’ll see” .

  29. 229

My boyfriend in college wrote me a beautiful song about seeing me glowing in the moonlight and knowing he loved me. He took me to the spot of our first date and sang it to me as my birthday present. It was breathtaking.

    trisha says:

… one time a boy flew across the country to see me before I left for college. It was sweet. he is just a best friend though… a very wonderful best friend.

    amymarie says:

on my 6 year anniversary, i took the day off but my guy had to work so i was predictably sad. little did i know what would be waiting for me when i woke up… there was a trail of rose petals (my favorite color even!) leading from my side of the bed out of the room. when i opened the bedroom door, it was to a sea of hot pink balloons filling up the entire living room. granted we were living in a smallish apartment but there must have been hundreds! it took my breath away to see and then made me laugh (no wonder he wouldn’t let me in the office for a week!) like a girl i ran then sank into them when i noticed many had writing on them. on 100 of the balloons he wrote in black marker one reason why he loved me. i was still sitting in the center of the sea reading one balloon after another, just weeping, when he came home – of course he had taken the day off! the thought and effort that went into making that day special still makes my heart smile :o)

  32. 232
    TiffyB says:

My love has done a lot for me that shows me everyday that he loves me. But since you’ve asked for words this is what I have. I’ve kept a text I received from him in the very beginning of our relationship. To me it was wonderfully romantic but at the same time very realistic. It said “..I feel like i finally found you…but you aren’t my destination, you are part of my journey.” I am very much enjoying our journey together.

  33. 233
    Jenni says:

My husband likes to think he isn’t a very creative guy. But when he proposed to me, he presented me with an amazing scrapbook of mementos from the 5 years we’d been dating. We lived together, and he’d even been staying up after I’d gone to sleep to work on it so it could be a surprise! There were so many romantic statements wrapped up in this gesture it was incredible, and it was the absolute perfect proposal.

  34. 234
    Jennifer says:

I still fall apart every time my husband tells me that I’m his best friend, and always will be!

  35. 235
    Meg T says:

After a month of being friends, my (now) husband kissed me for the first time and as we kissed he kept saying thru smiles “I KNOW you, it’s like I KNOW you” We like to think our souls had kissed before… long, long ago,

    Katy says:

I can’t recall but I do recall the least romantic thing disguised to be romantic thing someone has said to me:

    “You’re a cherished distraction.”

  37. 237
    mari says:

“You’re a blossom in my springtime,” was shyly, but daringly, whispered in my ear.

Thank you for your beautiful pieces!

    Courtney says:

“You can’t marry him. You need to marry me and let me love you forever.”

    Brenna Kathleen says:

I’m afraid no one has ever written or said anything romantic to me before, you see, I am still very naive on the romance side of life. But I have lost count on how many times Mr. Darcy has told me how much he ardently admires and loves me.

    Karyn says:

Only seconds after giving birth to our first child my husband said through tears whilst looking down at our gorgeous little boy “you are so amazing – I l♥ve you”… still to this day he tells me how amazing I was at growing and nurturing our baby for 9 months and then bringing him into the world. It still brings a tear to my eye when I think of that wonderful moment.

Oh I love these! I don’t have any one grand gesture, but my hubs says a little sweet thing to me every day, whether it be “i love you” or “you’re the cutest” or “you’re my favorite”. We remind each other every single day of how important we are to each other <3

    Susie says:

When my boyfriend, now he has been my husband for a little over a year, and I moved in together we got a house phone. I did a standard recording for the message machine quickly without much thought. Well I called it on my way home from work a few days later to realize he had changed it to say, “You have reached Susie and Miguel please leave a message. And baby if that is you, I love you.”
It was so sweet and so adorable. If I called and he didn’t pick up I still got to hear how he felt about me. Almost anyone who called would spend the first few seconds of their message saying how freaking cute he was. And I have to agree he is.
