WIN ROUGH LINEN ON THE BRIGHT SIDE PROJECT!!!

{please visit rough linen here}

I love rumpled sheets. There is something inherently appealing about the idea of a well loved bed, don’t you think? The timelessness of pure linen is perfect in its imperfection. Sure, those fancy hotels and their starched sheets look pretty, but I always wake feeling like I’ve let someone down, irreparably ruined the staged design. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to sacrifice beauty or style just so I can be comfortable. Now I don’t have to.

Tricia Rose’s Rough Linen is a collection of bedding and pillows based on her collection of old linen from her grandmother’s house in Scotland as well as her own home in France. The texture is surprisingly soft on the skin while still retaining the homespun texture and natural, undyed color. Each piece of her collection is sewn the old fashioned way, with French seams and pre-washed for shrinkage as well as to enhance the texture.  I’m going to be honest. There isn’t one set of bedding in her collection I don’t want. Perhaps it’s because Rose works from a seaside cabin in beautiful San Rafael but this brings California Dreamin’ to a whole new level. The type of level I would like to curl up on every single night.

Most definitely. I was able to carry my children to a healthy deliverable date. I have very serious reproduction issues, a bicornuate uterus. My children were early but both were very healthy and beautiful! My dream of a family had finally happened and I treasure every moment with them! I know it may not be the unique dream, but for someone who it told they most likely can’t have children, it was a dream and a miracle!

Absolutely! Besides meeting the man of my dreams who always puts me first, I was able to get my Masters of Gerontology (the study of aging) and I feel like I’ve completed a huge goal! I have a passion for helping older adults and I’m glad that I got more education so that I can serve them even better!

    Cecilie says:

I’ve had an actual dream come true once. I dreamed about a man that walked into my life where I worked, that he only looked at me and we would walk away together.
It was a very strange feeling that I two years later get a customer looking exactly like the stranger in my dream, giving me his order and then walking out. It actually felt odd not to follow him.
    Ah well.
Many of my my dreams, things I wished for, has come true as well. I finally found a boy that is nice and lovely, I have my own apartment and one day I’ll hopefully manage to live on my sewing skills.

It’s pretty cliche – but I am marrying the man of my dreams in 2 months! He is the greatest guy with so many wonderful qualities – hard-working, caring, and a man of integrity. I think reality is sometimes even better than a dream :).

Oh I love the look, feel and natural-ness of linen!
Okay, now to the question……..I fall into the same category as many of those who have posted. I am happily married to the man of my dreams. I know it sounds a gushy to some, but he is truly the man that I was meant to be with. So yes, this dream did come true!

i had always dreamed of spending my life with someone i just truly enjoyed being with, whether we were doing something mundane, like washing dishes, or on vacation somewhere dreamy. happily, i found that man and we’ve spent four great years together, and look forward to growing old together… in 50 years, Lord willing, we’ll be wearing matching tracksuits and rocking on our front porch together, still enjoying one another’s company.

Yes!  My dream to be a full time illustrator just came true.  I worked hard at a day job for a little over a year while building up my portfolio in my free time and eventually I got to the point where I was making enough income off of my art to do it full time!  It’s been the most incredible month so far!

    mc says:

not yet….i am still holding my breath for that day. its okay, i know it will come, i just have to be patient. good things come to those that wait… and work very hard with due diligence, right? i don’t consider myself unfortunate that it hasn’t happened yet, i just like to think that i am still paying my dues, and that the best is yet to come.

My dream was always to have my own little boutique where I could share some of the things I create. Now at 63 I just closed that little boutique to go on to a new chapter in my life. Creating from home. I will be selling a few of my creations to shops just like the big time people! Little ole me, 63, it’s never too late to dream and to accomplish that dream. If you dream it, you can achieve it. That’s my motto.

my then-boyfriend was over one night, we watched a movie and then i went into the bathroom to take out my contacts. unbeknownst to me, he went in my room, took a pillow that had the word “LOVE” embroidered on it, and hid it underneath my covers. i found it later that night when i went to bed…one of those cute, perfect, simple surprises. my dream for love came true that night.

Of course dreams come true – I always wanted to be a wife and mother and I have three beautiful children with my high school sweetheart. I have had some nightmares that I am very glad have NOT come true and my childhood dream of receiving a pony in the mail has also never come to fruition. But by keeping my dreams small and realistic, I have had some success – well on my way to being a marine biologist, I have started a small oyster farm and I own a working vehicle. What more could you want?

  22. 172
    AmyJo says:

Literal dreams, non? In which case, I’ve experienced nary a dream-come-true. Which, considering the bizarre dreams I tend to have, is probably for the best. However, should George Clooney suddenly take a liking to me, I’ll be sure to let you know!

My CV has been accepted by Emergency!
I am a nurse, I studied to be able to help people. My dream has always been to be able to go into a war zone, in a poor country, to help people who suffer the most, to bring a smile where childrren cry.
After studies I started working in neonatal intensive care unit, a place where the smaller and sicker babies can heal. After three years of work and experience, I sent my CV to Emergency to go and help poor children, children victims of war and to help their mothers.
So yesterday, after several interviews and some tests, I was qualifying!
I am happy, this is a dream come true! I do not know when I leave and where I will go go, but now I’m sure I can donate my skills and my love to those who really need so much

As a young girl, when I was asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” l I would always respond: a shoolbus driver! I admired all of my bus drivers a great deal and couldn’t imagining becoming anything but. Now as I graduate college with a double major in Econ and Spanish, my dream of becoming a bus driver has faded, but my mission of putting a smile on strangers faces, as my bus drivers did for me, is in full force.

I think I started to realize as I got older the one thing I wanted was a job I enjoyed and no matter the money (even though that would be nice) I needed to love my job. I have had the same job since College and I LOVE IT. Not to say sometimes I need a break from the job, but I really do love it and that’s what I always wanted – that would be the ultimate dream of mine coming true – I do have to work the rest of my life so I better love what I do!

After nearly a year of marriage and so many hopes, I still did not have a child that we had longed for … Then one night I dreamed a great light. From this light, he walked a small child who took me by the hand and said “Come home, mummy …”.
I woke up with the security of being pregnant and in fact … Leo was born a few months! I do not remember the look of the baby in my dream, but I’m sure it was just him …
