I was quite excited when Sarah Robinson of be still homewares sent me an email last month wanting to contribute. You see I am well versed in Ms. Robinson’s offerings. I just moved and am in the middle of trying to make my house a home and ‘ be still’ has been bookmarked as one of my Etsy faves for months. I have tried  in vain to choose my favorites but each pillow I seem to covet more than the next. I have been eyeballing the gray Ikat pillow as well as all the striped variations (I am partial to stripes) but then the Kalaidaspoke starts to call my name and I have to start the decision process all over again.

be still homewares was started in January 2009 by Robinson, an Industrial and graphic designer by trade. “On moving to Bangkok in 2008 I was amazed and excited by the fantastic fabrics available here. I’ve decided to do something with all of this fabric. I currently live between Australia and Thailand. be still is a diverse range of cushions with something to suit almost any modern interior. With a broad range of colours and patterns ‘be still’ has something to appeal to any taste. Made from designer fabrics sourced from manufacturer’s warehouse outlets, this range delivers high quality at an affordable price,” states Robinson.

We have found that a lot of  ‘The Independents’ have an altruistic bent and Robinson is no different being as generous as she is creative. From July 1, 2010 onwards, 5% will be built into the price of be still products and will be donated to Sister Joan Evans various projects that assist the slum community of Klong Toei in Bangkok.

“Klong Toei is in central Bangkok only about 2 or 3 km’s from where I currently live. Thousands of under privileged people live and work in this slum. Sister Joan’s projects include milk and supply kits for babies, funds for school equipment and uniforms and food for needy families” says Robinson.

One winner will win one pillow of their choice from the be still etsy shop. In order to enter to win, please answer the following question by July 13,  2010:
What is your favourite way to chill out and be still?
Good luck!  Please check the yellow winner’s box on Wednesday, July 20, 2010 to see if you have won.
