Clothes makes the (wo)man, yes? I am a firm believer that personal style says a lot about an individual. Fashion speaks to who we are inside, who we want to be and each different role we play in between. In this day and age, it’s not hard to stand out from the crowd in terms of style alone. The issue, more often than not, lies in the financial viability of interesting and stylish clothes that don’t look like something you can pick up in just any store you happen to walk by. No, what we’re talking about is entirely different. Unique and well-designed clothes with an affordable price tag fit for a true independent.

Tulle is an online store destined to be bookmarked. They have created a venue where an ever-growing team of designers work to bring a mix of modern and vintage styles with an affordable price point direct to you. They are the “perfect blend of effortless chic and glamour” and you will find yourself filling your virtual shopping cart with look after look, piece after piece. The ‘Pleated Front Dress’ and ‘Snap Front Strapless Dress’ are fighting it out to become my new summer staple and I’m starting to believe that being a true “Independent” means not having to choose. My personal style is “both.”

Tulle is giving away a $40 gift certificate to one lucky winner. To enter to win, please answer the following question by Thursday, July 22nd.
What makes up your typical summer wardrobe?

A breezy, brightly colored sun dress I can throw on to run around town, enjoy lunch with friends, and dance the summer night away at a music festival. I own a dozen sun dresses and love each one for their practicality and them memories I’ve made in them.

Light dresses in dark colors with simple jewelry and metallic flip flops.

My typical summer wardrobe is tank dresses and sandals….and pencil skirts with tanks and 3/4 sleeve cardigans for the not-quite-80-degrees days. :)

    JAMI BEN M. DANIEL says:

First off, lovely dresses! I like their simple lines, and they boast some of the sweetest pleatings and ruchings I’ve ever seen, especially the sleeveless ones you have on sale. (Kinda reminds me of Leifsdottir, but with a lot more reasonable price tag. I sure wish I could add another one or two Tulle pieces to my summer wardrobe staples. So pick me, please! Am yet to win anything from a contest in my entire life!) But to answer your q:

1.) Cotton summer dresses. Especially the white simple ones, that has gone through several washings, giving them that soft, well-worn, and comfy feel ( and the only possible way to get them that way is by wearing your favorites over and over and over again )…

2.) Rubber soled flip flops. I still use the ones I got from J. Crew a couple of summers back. Just needed to give them a good washing now and then ….

3.) Pony-tail holders. I especially like the elastic ones glammed-up with a fabric rose or two …

4.) Rompers! There’s something about them that brings back summer memories of when I was 5 years old. A very recent addition to my wardrobe staple is a denim number I got from Ross (I think), and a black twill one from Sears …

5.) An L. L. Bean Stainless-Steel Water Canteen. A very green alternative to plastic water bottles. Water stays cold and tastes pure. Plus, it manages to make me look good that I started considering it as part of my summer wardrobe staple. I practically never leave home without it.

    Thanks for the chance, Tulle!

Tulle next time (i know, ugh!), Jami B.

I love maxi dresses and skirts, white jeans and bright colored tank-tops.  I don’t think I’ve gone one day without donning my Havianas flip-flops for at least a few hours.  I also love sunglasses and toggle between my gold/pink Ray-Ban Aviators and Tom Ford Jennifers.

    Rebecca says:

    Skirts and Birks.

  12. 462
    Eleonora says:

A pair of silk shorts with a cotton tank top and cardi for casual ice coffee dates, and the same shorts with a silk top on top for going out. Havianas or other flats for casual, sandal wedges for evening.

    Danielle says:

Layers of everything cotton and wool on top of a dress with sunglasses – summer in san francisco is a special kind of affair.   Everyone the same ritual of dress and peel.  it’s more about the time of day than the day as a whole so one dresses for a process over dressing for a moment.

  14. 464
    Jessica C. says:

Typically shorts, and a t-shirt. As simple as possible.

  15. 465
    Kristin T says:

Lots and Lots of dresses with cute cocktail rings.

    Nicole says:

A bikini, covered by simple cotton sun dress, neutral colored flipflops or TOMS, ray-ban shades, a BIG watch!
