DIY :: Personalized Mugs

Thursday, December 5, 2013

Hi there, friends! This house is full of crafting at this time and I wanted to share a quick and easy idea for the loved ones in your life. Personalized mugs are an obvious choice in this house because we are serious coffee drinkers. And a good mug is never a bad idea. For my first round of gifts, I’m working on some handwritten white mugs. All you need is a mug (I got some great ones from the dollar store!) and a paint pen. Make sure the mugs are clean and dry and then bake them in a low oven for a bit to set the paint.

Another great option is to get a ceramic tube of paint and create art! I let my daughter draw on the mugs with a sharpie and then I traced her writing with the ceramic paint, baked them, and let them dry! (Hello, grandparent gifts!)

This idea has been floating around the internet for quite awhile and I definitely would suggest googling “Sharpie Mug DIY” for some research! There is a cute tutorial on A Beautiful Mess and a ton of helpful tips on DIYopolis.

What about you? Do you have some crafting going already? Send us some ideas in the links!

      I’m not sure how a dishwasher would hold up. (I don’t own one.) But my handwashing has done really well so far. Also, the porcelain paint works amazingly well. I have mugs that have held up for longer than a year with no chips in the paint at all!

    Hey do you have any of the vinyl toys for sale? If so, how much? Any other pattern for the laryands? Also, what method do you use to get the print on the pillows? Love the design but I’m hoping it isnt the type that will crack because it’s basically a big sticker.. bad explaination but yeah!So cute! Love your style, found you on depthcore this month.
