Art is subjective, personal, emotional. It moves us, makes us think, reflects our inner selves. . It is the jewelry of our home and we put it on our walls because it means something. In honor of this month’s theme, Adorn, we are so excited to bring you some of the most joyful artwork we have encountered. Because we wouldn’t really be The Bright Side Project if we didn’t  focus on the joy!

Mishel Valenton was in a bit of melancholic state and made the conscious choice to write a new story by creating Aeropagita Prints.  “I felt I had to change something in what I was doing so I decided to create my idea of joy instead.” These prints combine Valenton’s painting and sculpting background with technology to create vibrant and colorful pieces of art. Perosonally, I am inexplicably drawn to the Radiate print. This print embodies joy in a way I’m not sure words can do justice. Peek around the shop. Find your joy. Then adorn your walls with it.

Aeropagita Prints is giving away a $100 gift certificate to the shop to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question by Tuesday, May 29th. Comment’s now closed…Good luck!

My morning coffee ritual. When I lived in the states I always did the grab and run. Now I wake up a tad bit earlier and make a really great (and much more affordable) coffee and just sit and drink silently to ease into my day.

My good-morning from the cat. I’m not a morning person and hate getting out of bed, so I usually do it in a bad mood – but as soon as I come into the living room (where he’s watching birds from his seat at the window) he immediately comes running over, flops down on the rug and starts rolling around in happiness to see me. He’s not often one for being petted but he *adores* it when I first wake up – it’s like a greeting, like he missed me while I was asleep. It’s so adorable, and he puts a smile on my face first thing every morning.

Every morning when I wake up I love spending at least 5 minutes just lying in bed, having a morning cuddlefest with my husband and our puppies. In the morning our Boston Terrier’s fur feels like velvet and its the only time our papillon is relaxed and snuggly. I love waking up with my husband and sharing a moment giving scratches and playing with the pups before we begin our day. Mornings that are rushed and don’t allow this special time always end up being just a little bit less sunny. 🙂
