Fall has finally shown up to stay here in our neck of the woods. All of this springing into Fall seems to have worked! Does anyone else find themselves drawn to housewares at this time of year? For some reason, all of my linens, artwork, tchotchkes, and knick knacks seem like they need a fresh start. Perhaps it is the start of holiday decorating taking root but I’ll take any excuse to introduce you to the best little shops I can find.
Curly Willow Collections is the online shop of designer Vicki Shead. Shead had me at her mission statement:
“Curly Willow Collections is a small business focused on art prints, motivational cards and digital patterns. I hope you enjoy what you see, buy it for your home and it inspires you to live a beautiful life.”
Some personal favorites are the Sunshine Art print (shown above), this Tea Towel, and this gorgeous card. (I apparently have a love affair going with yellow these days.) But don’t be hindered by my monochromatic color scheme. Take a look around the shop and find something for yourself that makes you fall in love with your own life and home again. After all, it’s called “Fall” for a reason!

Harold and the purple crayon, I love the imagination and possibilities of the book!
Little Women!!! its the perfect 1800s novel for girls. It has it all
I have the fondest memories of being read to by my best friend’s mother. She would visit our classroom to read a chapter to the whole class every week. The book was “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeline L’Engle. It became my favorite book, and my favorite author, and the experience fueled a love of reading that continues to this day.
Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry. I remember reading it in middle school.
I have a favorite series of books. The Bloody Jack series by LA Meyers. It is a series of books about a young girl from the late 1800′s and her adventures around the globe. Really fun and a good audio.
The litle Prince
because of the message that last forever and through all generations!
Good omens. By Neil Gaiman and TErry Pratchett. So funny!
“Where the Wild Things Are”
The World According to Garp by John Irving. I first read it around forth grade and could not put the book down. I revisited the novel when I was in highschool and couldn’t help but wonder how my Mom could possibly have let me read the book while still in 4th grade! It’s still my favorite book though, and right now the husband and I are on a quest to find a first edition copy at secondhand book shops and garage sales
