Have you ever written yourself a love letter? Told yourself all the pretty little things you whisper to others? There are moments where I think that the best gift we can give ourselves is the gift of self-love. Complimenting ourselves shouldn’t be such a hard thing to do, don’t you think? We should be able to love the best parts about ourselves so that we know exactly how to share them with others. Let’s make a pact this year to celebrate ourselves, shall we? First step: the right stationery. (After all, the best kind of love letter looks pretty.)

Felix Doolittle is a favorite go-to for stationery that stands alone as a miniature work of art. Created by artist Felix Fu, each piece brings a level of personal sophistication and artistic integrity to the table. I am absolutely in love with these Personalized Everyday Writing Papers and I’m pretty sure a few Petite Love Notes stuck in my daughter’s lunch box would start the most fantastic chain reaction of love letters. You supply the words, let Felix Doolittle provide the venue.

Felix Doolittle is giving away one set of Petite Love Notes (in choice of style) AND one Charmed Pendant with Deerskin Lace to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than February February 6th.  Comments now closed…good luck!

Dear 22-year-old-self: Life was good at 22, right? It’s still good at 32, in fact it’s great, but I don’t want to give anything away.

My favorite Petite Love Notes are the Sweeties.

Hang in there… those babies are growing up right before your eyes. I know you are swamped with 3 under 3, but try, just try, to sit back and watch them for a few minutes a day when you can. You are so incredible blessed, and you are doing a terrific job as a mom. Just wait to see them in 10 years. You will be so proud of yourself.

My favorite design is Ikutan in Love. So cute!

I would tell myself to eat better and not to sweat the small stuff. Worry less about cleaning and the have-to’s, and just sit and enjoy the little moments. Don’t wish the kids were older. Love Love Love them being small. Don’t take your health for granted.

P.S. That boy you fell in love with at 16, is still your best friend. Good job.

My favorite petite love notes are “Love Spell.”

    Dear 19-year-old self,

Enjoy life. Do exactly what you are thinking of doing. If you do, you will end up just where I am at 29, and it is a great place to be.

Ikutan is such a character! I adore the personality of this little bird so those would be my little love note selection. Let’s see, 10 years ago I was graduating college and was so uncertain of my future. I wauld write that the road will be bumpy but the destination is SO worth it!

(in the Simple Touch “hug” love note) I would write myself about how beautiful life is and how much my love and affection matters to my husband and sons.  I would hint at the adventures to come and offer some words of wisdom that would be meaningful to me alone.

I would say…enjoy those crazy moments when the kids are screaming “MOM I NEED…..” .when they leave for college  you will miss screams…it will be quiet…and even for just a moment in time…you will wish for those days to return.

There are so many things I would want to tell myself: don’t worry so much, don’t be so hard on yourself, focus more on doing than achieving, spend time with those you love, don’t worry about the haters, don’t play games…  It’s not that I think I’ve done a bad job these last 10 years, in fact things have gone pretty well.  But I could have done just as well and had an easier time of it if I’d loved and trusted myself more.

I love the Love Found petite love note collection. Gee. There’s so much I would say to myself 10 years ago. I was just a kid. The things I regret in the last ten years are moments when I could and should have been kinder and given people the benefit of the doubt, and I didn’t. So, I would tell myself to be kinder to others and myself, to refrain from judgment, and to love others more fully. Not to mention, enjoy every stage of life because it all passes in a heart beat.

My favorite love note is the Sweetie collection. I’m 27, so what I would say to my 17-year old self is, “Don’t lose that determination and motivation, because all that hard work will pay off in the end.”

    {Love Found} petite love notes 🙂

To the 12 year old, awkward girl that tried to hard to fit in,

You are so loved even though you don’t know it. These petty fights and squabbles that occur that seem like the world is ending, you will forget about them in a few years. You are strong enough to overcome this and you have the best support system behind you, even though you don’t see it.

    Keep going.

If I could talk to my 18 year old self…
To my 18 year old self,
Life is going to have some bumps in the road over the next few years. Through all of them, know that things will always end up working out and that everything happens for a reason. Do not hold back on expressing your love or your creativity. Hold fast to the simpler things in life and always maintain your childlike outlook on the world. People may make you doubt your talents and who you are from time to time, but do not listen to them. Never try to be cool by being mean, or having smart retorts. Always treat people the way you would like to be treated and smile often. Love your family, and tell them often. Spend as much time with your grandmother as you can, and cherish her smile, her stories, her laugh and her entire being. One day you will hope to be just like her.
Yes, life will have it’s bumps. You will get bruised. You will feel alone from time to time. Just never give up, smile often, laugh freely and love unconditionally. You are a beautiful girl, full of unlimited brightness. Do not let anyone smother your light.
    xoxo- Me

my favourite is ikutan in love! adorable 🙂

To my 11 year old self:

life is more than studies and grades, even if singapore society doesn’t seem to think the same. play more, dance more, sing more! don’t give up on your interests because you’re scared. if you love it, don’t bother about what others say; do it because you feel happy when you learn how to play your favourite drama theme song on the piano. when you sing in a choir. when you finish ballet floor exercises without your legs wobbling.

cherish the people around you. talk to grandpa, even if he doesn’t talk much. he won’t always be around for you to talk to him. you won’t be able to watch grandma cook forever, because she can’t always be strong enough to lift that heavy wok. even when dad and mum work less, you’ll be stuck in school more, so treasure those family dinners with home-cooked meals. tell them that you love them. hugs are always appreciated.

Always give thanks to God. He is always watching over you, even when you feel dejected, disappointed in your own inadequacies. life is bigger than yourself. be glad that you are privileged enough to have the chance to make a difference in someone else’s life. 🙂

    Dear 13-year-old self,
You are beautiful. Even though you feel  incredibly awkward 98% of the time, life will not always be this way and someday you are going to realize the beauty that is within you. And it will shine so brightly! So love yourself, and good luck with 7th grade!

My fav is definitely the “Love Spell” line. There is something so classic and pretty about old keys, I just love them. 10 years ago I would tell myself that there is life after high school and to enjoy the moment. I would always say ” I can’t wait to” and my dad would tell me “don’t wish your life away” and it’s so so true. I would also say lay off the ice pink eye shadow.
