Growing up, I was a stationary hoarder. I had a giant box in my closet full of cards, notepads, envelopes, what have you. I would write letters to friends, mail birthday and get well cards, stash perfect cards away for every possible occasion. Sadly, with the rise of email some years ago, my letter sending habit came to a screeching halt. Lately, however, I have been finding myself drawn to the card section in stores. (When that doesn’t do the trick, a little online searching usually fixes me just right!) I have started slowly creating a collection of beautiful cards and notes. My love of all things paper has returned and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Flowers in May is the gorgeous shop of artist/designer Emily Dumas. With her line of beautifully illustrated prints, greeting cards, calendars, and wrapping paper (genius!), Dumas strikes the perfect chord between modern simplicity and whimsical humor. Her designs are edited to perfection and create a fun, engaging atmosphere. This Laundry Day Print is adorable and would go perfectly in, well, my laundry room. And the 2013 calendar? Yes. Please. Talk about “The Perfect Gift.”
