{please visit FrEEna here}

There is a four year old boy in my daughter’s class who wears a bow tie for every special occasion that pops up. From birthday parties to holiday pageants, he is (by far) the best dressed kid there. He even puts some of the adults to shame. He also has inspired me to step up my game a bit where my own style is concerned. His inspiration is both metaphorical and literal. See, I have this bow tie necklace that always makes me feel incredibly special with I wear it. With a deep red background, my plaid bow tie makes me feel like I can conquer the world. And look good doing it. Paired with my favorite jeans and a white tshirt? Superhero status.

Therefore, I felt compelled to share with you a find that made my superhero heart skip a beat. Cristina Newton of FrEEna Design creates crochet and lace jewelry, bows, and geometric designs destined to become your armor when you need to feel like your best self. Newton has taken the bow tie necklace and turned it into a wearable work of art that you can customize any way you see fit. These Hair Bows provide the perfect accessory for your daily runaround and I’m pretty sure these Modern Crochet Earrings will become a staple in your wardrobe. You may not change the world while wearing your new FrEEna accessories, but at least you’ll look like you can.

Fr33na is giving away one set of five bow tie necklaces (in your choice of colors!) to one lucky reader. To enter to win, please answer the following question by Wednesday, August 1st.
If you were a superhero, what would your power be?
Start checking the winner’s box on Monday, August 6th, to see if you’ve won.

When I was little, I always wanted the power to read minds – but that wish has slowly faded with time 🙂 I think that more than anything, I would want the ability to transport myself anywhere, instantly. Living a plane ride away from family and friends, it would definitely make staying close a ton easier!

The ability to fly would be awesome. Actually a super-power I really want is to be those moms who have all that energy to work, cook, clean, love on my hubs, be crafty, play with their kids, do charity work and look fresh and relaxed while doing it all!

Tough question! I would probably fly, I could do more in a day if I could only get there quicker! Less time driving, more time with the kids, and my mom, and maybe go to lunch with the hubbs! Yes…..FLY!

    Erin M says:

    If I were a superhero…
I would be a less assuming hero. I would not like the power to fly, bend bars or read minds. My super power would be to make people laugh. I would render villains powerless with debilitating laughter. (You know the kind of belly laugh where you double over, snort and then pee your pants? Like that!) I’d spend my off-days hanging out with kids and seniors perfecting my fart-noises.

My super power would most certainly have to be time travel! I would love to go back to the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s to see how they dressed, how they drove, what music they listened to, the technology, etc. To put myself in a time where everything was clear and original, and vintage!

(First of all, I’m from Germany.)
If I were a superhero? I think I would like to have the power “is able to build a teleportation thing”. I would build million of these things (question of money? Everyone would support such an idea!). I have a great problem with planes and trains need a lot of time to get to a place that is 300 km away. Last year I had to go by a train to my boyfriend and lost everytime 6-8 hours of the time I wanted to spend with him. Planes are for such travels too expensive and… yeah. I would like to teleport from one point to another. And I mean, this would be for every long-distance relationship a good thing 🙂 (Fortunately we moved together some weeks ago :))

  27. 27
    Maire says:

To manipulate the minds of others. Wicked, I must say!

  28. 28
    Echo says:

The power to inspire positive, creative actions! I really could use some inspiration and motivation myself, and I would love to know I was helping others achieve their goals as well. Since this is a superpower I could probably have if I just worked a bit harder at it, I will also be able to FLY.

  29. 29
    jane says:

the power to clean anything and everything with  snap of my fingers! so my parents won’t need to do so much backbreaking cleaning. every saturday’s “housekeeping day” so my parents, my older brother and myself do a thorough cleaning of the entire house (vacuuming, mopping etc.) all 3 stories and my parents aren’t getting any younger, but they won’t let us do everything on our own…

  30. 30
    Madeline says:

The ability to travel in time!

  31. 31
    Amy M says:

My superpower would be good timing!  I feel most situations can be fixed by a bit of timing: a well-placed apology, compliment, light admonishment, or friendly surprise can make someone’s day, diffuse a tense situation, or take a load off of someone else.

  32. 32
    msilba says:

I would want the power to instantly make someone happy!!  Just think how many circumstances or events may have turned out differently if a person saw the bright side of a situation instead of feeling angry, or if they felt great instead of sad or depressed, or if their anger suddenly turned to cheerfulness:)

  33. 33
    Lauren Guilbeau says:

I would want the superpower to see the future!

  34. 34
    Jennifer says:

I would have the ability to stop time for everyone but me. That way I could do things like rush into the street to pull the child out of harm’s way before he gets run over or catch up with the bad guys before they get away.

  35. 35
    Amy Grace says:

I would have the ability to read men’s minds and to play cupid and help all my fellow single ladies out there.

  36. 36
    Loretta says:

I want to fly! Free travel? Come on, who wouldn’t want that?!

  37. 37
    Shelley Gajus says:

If I could only have one superpower, it would be to control the weather (not like the girl on X-men who can do it in one specific spot, but the weather in general all over the world).  If I could do that, maybe I could end the droughts and plagues and help some of the 3rd world countries provide themselves with food and trade. If not, I’d want the whole superhero package like superman!

  38. 38
    Jessica says:

Teleportation, but only if I could teleport whomever I’m touching too. Hopefully superpowers don’t always have to be for the greater good. Because I’d choose my superpower for purely selfish reasons. Who doesn’t want to go wherever they want anytime the want?

  39. 39
    Tabetha says:

Super speed! That way I might have a shot at getting all the things done that I need to get done in a day!

    Tashi says:

The ability to communicate with and win the loyalty of the animal kingdom! Can you imagine what you could accomplish with nature on your side? I don’t need to know how to fly if birds are my friends or have super strength if a grizzly bear is my ally.

    Theresa says:

The ability to make people calm and/or sleepy :p

    brenda says:

my superpower would to be invisible..so, i could eavesdrop on my friends when they are voicing complaints about me. (no one can truthfully claim they don’t mildly gossip about even their best friends,. it’s human nature) i wouldn’t want to hear their complaints as to get angry…but, to change the things about me that bother people.

  45. 45

I would be able to give anybody an (invisible) hug when they needed one. There are so many days when a hug will make things better for most of us, but we don’t often get it. My superpower would be able to identify these people and envelope them in a huge bear hug full of love and positive energy. Now won’t that make the world a better and happier place?! 🙂

  46. 46
    Faye-Louise says:

My superpower would be the ability to locate lost objects. I seem to spend my whole life searching for things I have put in “safe places”, I honestly think I have Borrowers living in my house! Being able to find things straight away would save so much time and stress, I think I would be rich too with all the money I misplace and never find! 😀

  47. 47
    Lisa says:
