Giveaway :: HALF UNITED
{please visit HALF UNITED here}
We hope you have enjoyed our month-long journey into wanderlust and all that it represents. We hope you feel inspired to make your mark on the world around you. We hope you feel the need to travel, to make a change, to occasionally step out of your comfort zone so that coming home is that much sweeter. We hope you spread your wings and open your heart to all of the possibilities laid out before you both on the road less traveled and on the well-worn path. In honor of our finale this month, we want to introduce you to a company that embodies everything we love about wanderlust (and beyond.)
The brother/sister duo of Christian and Carmin Black founded HALF UNITED three years ago with the idea to giving back and helping those in need through the perfect marriage of humanitarianism and fashion. The way it works is simple: for every purchase you make from HALF UNITED, half of the proceeds go to NGO (non-governmental organization) partners who fight world hunger. But let’s talk about the fashion, shall we? The Original Fighting Hunger necklace is an absolute favorite of mine for two reasons: aesthetics and metaphors. Not only are these necklaces simply gorgeous and clean, they also represent taking something discarded and generally seen as negative and turning it into a statement about beauty and worth and perspective. Besides, when it comes to ending world hunger, shouldn’t we just collectively bite the bullet and do it already? There is nothing more inspiring about visiting the world (either physically or virtually) than knowing we have the ability to change it.

Open a non profit store where women could come and trade clothes instead of disposing of things.
No doubt – fly like a bird!
swim in the Olympics
I would start my own business.
Jump from the tallest building in the world and make the wind my wings.
I would try living and working in a foreign country
I would start my own company which after a few years of hesitation I’m finally doing. I just got my business license and seller’s permit and I go back to school next month to brush up on my business knowledge and work on improving my craft. It’s incredibly scary to know I might fail at something but I had reached the point where I either needed to act or give it up. I couldn’t live in limbo forever.
I would apply to a school of pharmacy again, knowing that this time I won’t fail and I can do what I want. Now I think I’m not confident and I don’t believe in myself enough to do it.
I would be a full-time, globe-trotting philanthropist and humanitarian – and run marathons. Unfortunately, my bum knees don’t seem to want me to run 26 miles at a go! I’ve done a bit of volunteering abroad, so I think I’ll focus on THAT possibility instead!
I would definitely travel–never been out of the country but I neeeed to see historical Europe! And Africa.
I would run for president!
I would up and move somewhere where I cold start over – maybe open some type of needle shop – I love to cross stitch and may have said that I should sell what I make but I usually only make them for family and friends.
hmmm, this is question that always confounds me because i often think that failure breeds success. when i fail, i learn from my mistakes and make the next attempt stronger (at least i hope i do), so…i guess i would do everything!
Wow – what an amazing question. I would be rich – ha ha! Lame answer but I do most of what I want anyways. Thanks so much for the chance!
Own a food truck!
Write a novel, my favorite dream.
Start my own business!
I would create a ton of paintings that people would love to buy.
Open a book store or a summer camp… maybe both!
fly an airplane!
Run my own gallery.
be the best dancer ever.
Go into politics.
I would leave my husband and marry a man who truly loves me for me. . . . . . sounds sad i know, but if i KNEW i would be ok, i think i would do it.
Try to get one of my novels published…
Open a Studio/Gallery for challenged kids
teach during the day and run a badass bakery/bar at night.
All sorts of things, run marathons and write a book and open a dance studio and move to the country with a slew of animals! I need to be more fearless….I’m working on it.
I might run away and begin again. Erase the years of tears and heartache.
I would find a career in the music industry
Call me cliché, but I would fly. Realistically though, I would sing in a band.
Manage a band or become a librarian.
Farmer artist.
fall completely and hopelessly in love.
If only I knew I could not fail… I’d quit my current 8-5 cubicle job at a large law firm & go back to school for photography then travel and sell my prints. What a nice thought that is!
I would homeschool my three children. I would love to be the one teaching them and seeing their world open before their eyes. We would travel the world, plant gardens, paint, serve others, go back in time and conduct amazing science experiments. Though once we got past 5th grade math I may have to do a little outsourcing : )
Make my living as an artist!
Start an “Elect Women” initiative in Canada. AT the current rate we’re electing women to Parliament it’ll take us 130 years to reach 50% women representatives. Speeding up that process is close to my heart, and if I knew I couldn’t fail, I’d go for it big time.
Run for President. If I couldn’t fail, that means I could solve so many of the world’s problems….
switch to being a part-time at therapist and go back to school from graphic design so i could make wrapping paper and greeting cards
I will also go on a date with one of my best friends! so cliche…but it’s true!
