Here at the BSP, we are always inspired by people who do what they love and love what they do. Nothing represents “Awakening” more, don’t you think? Following your passion is a serious undertaking of love and the endurance and determination is only equaled by the sense of fulfillment that engulfs you at the end of the day. Finding these artisans to showcase here on our site is a driving force behind our work and one of the reasons we, too, love what we do.

Justine Jones is a perfect example of someone living their dream. Her line, Jewelry by Justine, is inspired by the beauty of nature and her environment. It should be noted that Justine is from the island of Oahu, so natural beauty is inherent and on a level many of us don’t see everyday. (I used to live in Hawaii and I’ll admit, I can smell the plumeria when I visit her website. True story.) Jones’ work is unique yet inviting, inspired and elegant. Her online shop will be open soon but don’t hesitate to drop her a line if you are interested in a piece. Or, you could always fly over to Hawaii for a shopping trip. Hey, any excuse we need, right?

the best vacation i even went on was driving cross country with my husband about 8 years ago. we drove from CA to NYC and took the train home. so much fun! what didn’t we eat? we determined that Chicago has the best pizza, neither NYC or Philly has the best cheesecake (CA does–who knew?), and that the best bagels are definitely in NY.

Nothing in the whole wide world compares to a kid’s first trip to Disney World. I was in third grade and my parents took me and my two younger sisters. It was magical!

My honeymoon was the best vacation I have ever been on! My husband and I visited Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas. It is a small island but full of wonderful people. We had such a great time and made so many memories. I ate lobster everyday, literally every single way you could possibly consume lobster (fried, baked, poached) I ate it! I can’t wait to go back.

My best vacation (so far!) is definitely when I spent a week in Florida last summer. It was my first adult working vacation and the first time I took off more than a long weekend at my job of 3 years. It was AMAZING. I was able to completely shut off digitally (aside from instagram to make everyone jealous) and relax. I traveled alone and my aunt and uncle were gracious enough to be my hosts. I ate amazing home cooked meals as well as some amazing mexican! I had a great balance of relaxing by the pool, seeing some sights and shopping. I can’t wait to do it again!

Before I gave birth to my first, my husband surprised me with a trip to your native Oahu. I’ve never been so surprised. That man! Just the two of us for one week, the last getaway before the lovely complication of children. Food on this trip was the name of the game. I researched restaurants for months before we left. My favorite thing to do was to stop at fruit stands around the island and just pick up crazy-looking fruit and eat it on the spot. Passion fruits! Sigh. We also spent an amazing night at Alan Wong’s (have you been? ohhh my!). I still remember everything we ate. Two kids later, we haven’t been able to travel alone together since then, but that time together in the sunshine and the rain always puts a smile on my face.

When I was 19, my older sister surprised my mom and myself with a cruise to mexico. We did had such a great time! We sipped through the forest on a zip-line, did lots of shopping and had fun just being with each other. We have 5 brothers, so it was a lot of fun to just have a girls weeks.
My favorite thing that I ate was a ruben sandwich, I had never had one before, and it was so good!
This was the trip that fueled my love of travel, and over the past 10 years I’ve done much more!

The best vacation I ever went on was in the October of 2007 with a former boyfriend.  It was my first trip to Europe and we went to Paris, Romania and Prague.  I fell in love with the old architecture in Prague and Romania and the food and beauty of Paris.  In Romania we went to a Serbian restaurant and it was my first time ever eating head cheese.  I also remember that we were trying to save money in Paris so we bought a loaf of bread, a huge bottle of orange juice and a block of cheese to keep in our hotel fridge for breakfast.  the cheese ended up to be terrible and we talked about the stinky cheese for the rest of the trip.
what I wouldn’t give to be able to go back to one of these countries sometime soon.

This past summer I had the amazing opportunity as a 21 year old to not just vacation, but live in South America with my most adored friend Heather.  Not just being a tourist, but calling Ecuador our home. And most memorable food item?: cuy. Cuy: the Ecuadorean delicacy also known as guinea pig. We sadly had to buy a live wriggling little guinea pig and take it home for our house-mom to kill, keeping us outside for the process. Poor little baby – we apologize for your death but appreciate the amazing memories you gave us sitting around the table as a mix-matched foreign family.

Best vacation I have ever been on would have to be when I took my three kids to visit the family last summer. A few rest stops, gas stations and 8 hours later we were at my parent’s house. Got to meet my niece for the first time too.  Family dinners of all the favorites were the best!!

The best vacation I have been on was two years on my “familymoon”  to Mexico, Instead of taking the traditional honeymoon we opted to take my then 10 year old daughter as well as my sister, and her husband and daughter (they never had a honeymoon)   It was amazing for all of to get to spend such quality time together being that we live in different states and to share in the happiness of our recent wedding.  We ate way to much, the resort had 9 restaurants and we tried them all, buffets, Mexican, Italian, French, it was all so good!

I just got married on 7/7 and our honeymoon was by far THE BEST one could have asked for – Oceania cruise starting with 3 days in Rome with stops in parts of France and Italy and Spain ending with 3 amazing days in Barcelona

The best vacation I’ve been on was to Girdwood Alaska in February.  My niece was living there and during my trip I got to go to the start of the Iditarod dog sled race in Anchorage, and also got to steer and ride on a dog sled.  I love snow and cold weather, so I was very happy to experience it during that season.

I’ve had quite a few pretty great vacations, but my favorite one of late was a trip to New Orleans with my husband, babymoon-style. We stayed in a nice hotel, went to the best restaurants, and saw everything we wanted to see. Our theory was that it would likely be our last vacation before conception, and we wanted to really be able to do it up right, so we didn’t deny ourselves anything. Of course, we were in New Orleans, so the food really was the best part. The best complete meal experience was at Commander’s Palace, where everything we ate, from sweetbread appetizers to bread pudding and coffee was spectacular. But the best single dish I ate was the rabbit and dumplings at Cochon….special, to say the least.
