Giveaway :: L.A.R.K.
Can we talk about clutches for a moment? They have become a bit of a, shall we say, obsession. Given that my everyday handbag is pretty big (to accommodate kids and life and the necessary accouterments) combined with the fact that I have an aversion to disorganization, I find myself using a myriad of clutches to hold everything. This has also given me a whole lot of pleasure since I’ve realized that there are so many options out there. Needless to say, I’ve become quite finicky in my clutch/bag desires. Only the best will do for The Good Life, after all.
Imagine my joy when I stumbled upon L.A.R.K. while doing some personal searching. L.A.R.K. (which stands for Life’s A Real Kaleidoscope!) is the brainchild of Ching-Ching Ng, a fantastically creative woman who believes that life is meant to be lived in color. Her pieces are stunningly crafted and the vibrant color combinations add a sophisticated yet fun sense of style. I have a strong desire to purchase the entire collection of wristlets, just for variety. Besides, how happy would the inside of my bag be to hold these beauties? Ng also creates gorgeous jewelry that makes a statement (so that you don’t have to.) ”L.A.R.K is a clarion call to stop being shy, stop being a shadow, and stop being boring!” If that’s not a recipe for The Good Life, I don’t know what is.

The smell of my grandmother’s cooking- always transports me back to my childhood straight away
Gardenias in the warm sunshine!
Anything cinnamon or vanilla. Love it.
This may sound weird but my favourite smell is elephant dung – I used to work in a carnival and in my charge was Tiny, an elephant! I spent a LOT of time with Tiny and most of that time when we weren’t giving kiddies rides and taking photos, I was shoveling Tiny’s not so tiny piles of dung into buckets to be sold as fertilizer. Now, long time after, I’d go to the zoo or a circus and get a whiff of that very familiar smell, and I’m transported back to those fun (and occasionally smelly) times with Tiny.
The smell of bread baking on a fall afternoon. Ah! My mouth is watering right now!!
extra virgin olive oil! it smells earthy and wholesome and delicious and sometimes depending on where it was made you can smell other things in it like tomatoes or herbs.
definitely the smell of grass and ground after a beautiful summers rain
the woods on a sunny day after a night of rain
It’s close one between rain coming down in the country and my young sons after a bath.
Sunscreen. I wear sunscreen everyday and I love the smell and it’s become my smell.
the smell of old books. that musty, well loved and read kind of smell that tells you that the book has brought many hours of enjoyment to those who’ve encountered it
the smell of water from a garden hose is my favorite… it always surprises me by digging up a sweet childhood memory or two. that scent stops time for me and reminds me of how blissful and freeing summer break was as a kid.
I love the smell of dryer sheets after they come out of the dryer looking like used tissues. I usually don’t throw them away immediately because I love the subtle yet fresh scent they have. My laundry just doesn’t smell the same or feel as soft without them!
Mint, or fresh ocean air
I love the smell of white bread whenever you first open the package. So fresh and delicious!
xoxo
The smell of the earth on a hot summers day.
The wet rain hitting the dry pavement during the first summer rain. Ahhh.
The smell of the pillows my boyfriend uses. When he’s not there, I find it comforting to snuggle into the pillow and breathe deep.
I have many favorite smells, but my favorite would be the smell of school right after it starts back from summer vacation. The smell of books, paper, pencils, and the freshly waxed floor. Makes me very excited! Like a new car smell!
citrus… anything citrus!
The smell of the misty slat water by the beach. I love how it blows into my face, making my glasses a foggy mess.
My favorite smell is fresh linen or cotton sheets after they have been hung on the line to dry. As the wind passes by them you can smell them and the fabric softener, even inside! Like an air freshener for nature. I always leave a window open in the direction of the wind, so my whole house smells fresh!
Love the smell of fresh flowers that make me happy and energetic
my favorite smell is home. i love my parents house and coming home to it from the city. it reminds me of simpler times and brings me to an instant calm place.
I love the smell of fall leaves. That crisp moment in the fall when everything smells woodsy and reminds you of bonfires, apple cider and smores.
Lemons!! The smell reminds me of so many wonderful things all at once; summer, happiness, freshness, energy, and lemonade of course!
My favorite smell is the smell of fall – specifically of leaves burning and bonfires. It brings me back to my childhood camping adventures and my family’s home on Lake Michigan, and reminds me of nature in every way.
Sun, salt, warm sand and lime.
My favorite smell is definitely eucalyptus trees, we have one in our yard and I like to take of the gum nuts and boils them for a few minutes on the stove and the smell fills the house…heaven.
My favorite smell, oddly, is of my cat! We shampoo him in blueberry coconut flea shampoo, yes tis a very hard job, and after he dries he smells so delish! He will come up to my pillow at night to sleep, and I lay my head against him and breath until I fall asleep!
My favorite smell is that of a baby! Their shampoo, lotion, and oil. They way they smell after a fresh bath! They smell so sweet and calming, and so familiar! After a while, even there clothes and toys begin to smell that way!
The smell of the ground during summer rain and the smell of fresh cut grass.
I can never pick favorites, but one of my favorite smells is the rain when my window is open and I’m sitting inside working on something. Another favorite is the residual smell of cookies or another treat that lingers after I’ve baked something.
There is an herb that grows wild in Quebec, I have no idea what it’s called, but when crushed, it smells a bit like lemon and pineapple. It’s a fresh, green smell. During my childhood, when we went to my grandmother’s cabin, it’s the first thing I would smell as soon as we arrived. That smell reminds me of summer, of vacation. Also reminding me of vacation is the smell of sunblock on my skin.
Wood fires on crisp fall nights. Growing up, we had a fireplace and used it most cold autumn nights. I loved walking up to the house knowing that inside it was warm and cozy.
Sun and lemons
Baking cinnamon and apples. Reminiscent of fall when my sister and I were little, and every day would be apple sauce, crisp, pie, or another treat!
My favorite smell is a bonfire. It reminds me a camping and roasting marshmellows!
