Last March, I bought a house that had a few rose bushes in the yard and I started ‘tending’ them. I have no gardening expertise, but these roses are like my children! Now that it’s spring again, they’re starting to grow new leaves, and I couldn’t be prouder!

My favorite flower is the Gerber Daisy and yes, we have some planted in our yard right now.   My husband bought them and planted them in our yard as an Easter gift for me.

My favorite plant is rosemary – it smells good on its own, occasionally has beautiful blue flowers, and adds flavor and antioxidants to everything from gin cocktails to roasted veggies and olive oil cakes. It’s also pretty hardy, which means even I can grow it.

My favorite flower is a spider mum, I love them because they are unique and pretty! I love that they last a long time and they can be spread throughout the house! I don’t grow them, but I really wish I did!

My favourite flowers are lilacs.  The smell reminds me of home and brings me back to my 5 year old self, playing around and in the lilac bush.  It was my personal fort, sometimes even shared with a family of bunnies.   I used to love watching the babies grow up and hop around.  It was such a wonderful time.

When I was a little girl, I loved staying at my grandparents’ house: Papa grew gardenias, and they will always be my favorite flower because of our little ritual: When it was time for bed, he always put a bowl of gardenias floating in water in a blue bowl on the bedside table. He took such care to find the most fragrant, perfect flowers. I remember falling asleep to the fragrance of gardenias and the comfort of knowing that I was very, very loved. That flower and fragrance brings me right back to those wonderful days with my wonderful grandparents! On a side note, my grandparents house was decorated from floor to ceiling in shades of blue (really!) and my birthstone is topaz, so I the blue topaz ring feels very appropriate! I would think of them whenever I wore it, which would be every day! Thanks for reminding me to think of my papa’s gardenias again!
