Friends, let’s talk about simplicity, shall we? There is such a gift in embracing simplicity in that it allows the space for creativity to grow and expand. Since we are focusing our energy this month on the idea of “getting our feet wet” let’s take a look at the metaphor. The idea that we can always learn something new or grow in some way is one that suggests beginnings, a new perspective, a rebirth of sorts. When entering a season of our life focused on new and learning and growth, it’s best to embrace simplicity in all other areas. I find that (most especially) my style reflects a thoughtful, intended simplicity and I walk through my day reminded to be open for change. Might sound strange, but our next contributor embodies this in a way I think you’ll understand.

Husband and wife team Edson Enriquez and Anne Rutt-Enriquez began Limbo Jewelry Design in 2005 and their brand has grown to national recognition. Known for their architectural and simple designs, Limbo Jewelry is a haven for gorgeous work that celebrates empty space and honors clean, organic lines. The Drop Lariat Necklace and Lotus Vert Ring are a couple of personal favorites. Limbo Jewelry Design is a brand that celebrates beauty and expression with simplicity and you can rest assured that your own journey in embracing your beginning will be honored respectfully and with the proper adornment.

Today I’m celebrating a fresh start with work and life in general.  Due to medical reasons, I’ve been off work for a few months.  With the help of my doctors, family, and friends, I’ve been able to return to work and start doing the things I love again.  I’m active again, able to  travel, and have a much more positive outlook on life.  Although there are still rough days, I’m full of hope for the future 🙂

I’m still learning how to celebrate the new beginning that started last month when my husband and I moved from Seattle to St. Louis for him to attend grad school. I grew up in Washington and love the Pacific NW, so it’s a season of reminding myself that I like adventure and pushing myself to find things to love in the Midwest.

I quit my job of 8 years exactly one year ago; I took a big risk in accepting a temp position at a really great company and worked hard to prove I should be hired full time. Two months ago, I was hired full time and my big risk paid off! It was really scary to go from a very comfortable position to something that could possibly end and have to start all over again, again. I feel like that move was the jump start to a really great career and room for advancement. It’s the beginning of great things to come 🙂

Today I’m celebrating a new beginning as the life of a marathoner (hopefully). I never thought I would ever be capable of running one, but now I decided to prove myself wrong and am in the early stages of training for the Portland Marathon on October 5. If – no, when – I complete the marathon, it will be a huge feat and a new, more self-confident, capable, healthy, and successful me.

Every day is a new beginning and I simply make it better than the day before in any way possible.  I’m finding many things to be grateful for, accepting of signs that nature gives me and am officially seeking a creative outlet so that I can do what I love!  Oh, by the way… 40 is a great new beginning, too!

Last night (at 6:37pm to be exact), my family and I moved into a new home.  It’s kind of a major new beginning for me – we’re now living in community with another family and we are working on raising our children together, rather than just in nuclear families.  We all believe in finding ways in our culture to share, to cooperate, and to care for others.

It’s something I’ve believed in for a very long time, but making it real is a whole different thing.  It’s scary and exciting to try out something that I believe in as an ideal.   We all have our own private spaces (even separate living room and kitchen and bathroom!), but we have shared areas in the house as well.

So far, so good! (Although…I did stay up all night decorating the place and unpacking!)

My seven week old is sitting on my lap nursing as I type this, and I celebrate him constantly. I’ve never much adored the tiny baby stage of kids, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I had my own, but I just ADORE him and want to kiss his cheeks nearly constantly. Everything he does feels like a revelation: “Oh, you have a big toothless grin for momma? BEST THING EVER!” “Are you trying to talk? That is the cutest thing!”

(PS, Thank you for offering the ring in multiple metal styles. I have never been one for yellow-gold jewelry and strictly wear silver-toned things. I am always sad when I have to pass on a giveaway because I know I wouldn’t wear the item due to color. Not only is the option of colors great for this ring, the simplicity of the form would make it fit seamlessly into my small rotation of jewelry! Thanks for providing the opportunity to win!)

I am on the precipice of many new beginnings! I just graduated with a master’s degree in social work, so I am about to start a new career that fits my conscience and my passion. Now that I’m done with school, my husband and I are going to start our family and (maybe, hopefully) buy our first home. Plus, I get to begin again with my dad. He recently made it through open-heart surgery, so our family is looking forward to many more years with a wonderful (and incredibly strong) man.

I’m experiencing a fresh start with my family right now. For years, we’ve been separated by distance (though not affection), and now my whole family will be living in one city. I’m so thrilled to have my mother, father, sister, brother-in-law, and niece now within a 10 minute drive. I’ve already spent every day this week helping my sis unpack and organize her new home, with baby cuddling breaks, of course. My parents move in a few short weeks, and I can’t wait!

My dear friend gave birth to a stillborn little girl last week, which has been absolutely heartbreaking. She was full-term and has only passed days before she started into labor. We were pregnant together and my little boy is now 4 months. So this week, I have been celebrating the lives of my children, not taking the blessing of their beauty, and individuality, and vivaciousness for granted. Life is a gift every day. And so is the gift of friendship and helping one another through those heart-rending moments when we feel suspended in suffering and pain. Here’s to joy.

More of a RE-beginning you might say.  I am very happily celebrating my dearest friendship, as my best friend and I have reconnected (physically, as we’ve just moved back to the west coast where she is) after living thousands of miles apart for the last several years.  My heart is so happy to be close again….long distant relationships just aren’t the same.  I had forgotten how much I NEED a friendship like this in my life, and so it’s a GRAND celebration!

I am celebrating as best as one can the huge change in our home…Our oldest daughter will be leaving in three short weeks for college….She was accepted to her dream college on the east coast….On one hand I couldn’t be more proud of the amazing 18 year old she is…I have celebrated and have been taught many life lessons from the moment she was born… A bittersweet moment in time as I close the book of firsts and now watch her write her own. We have a 12 year old who will not know what to do with having us all to herself… Celebrating all the way through this rough ( on my mom heart) happy..sad…exciting..scary time…The bubble ring would be so perfect to give to my oldest as a symbol  that there is no beginning or end to our family .When she gets sad or lonely all she needs to do is look at her finger and know that we are there celebrating her achievements  and our love. has been wrapped into the  bubble ring……she is never alone…..
