Dear readers, one of the greatest benefits of being a part of The Bright Side Project is the opportunity to find artists who create such beauty that the world is, quite simply, better for it. Our hearts simply shine when it comes to handcrafted goods and the ability to share these makers with you is something we do not take lightly. It is an honor to be a part of this and today’s feature is no exception.

Lindsay Lewis is a metalsmith and jewelry designer living in Chicago. Lewis’ designs are unique and designed to stand out, yet be accessible enough for everyday wear. These are the types of pieces you find yourself reaching for before you leave the house because you just know that your day will be infinitely better because of it. My personal favorites are the Moonstone and Brass Cuff and the Amethyst Cutout Pendant. But don’t take my word for it. Shop at Lindsay Lewis and find the pieces that speak to you.

Lindsay Lewis is giving away one Quartz Crystals and Brass Pendant to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Thursday, June 26th. *Open to US residents only.*
Please visit Lindsay Lewis and tell us: When do you feel the most beautiful? Is it a time of day, an outfit, a place?
Start checking the winner’s box on Tuesday, July 1st, to see if you’ve won!

I feel the most beautiful when I’m standing 14,000 feet high on top of a mountain I’ve just slogged, pulled, and hauled myself up over the last several hours. I may be sweaty, red in the face, and sore, but the beauty that spills down the mountain under my feet and radiates around me in the form of alpenglow on the Rockies is reflected in my eyes, my heart, and my soul. And while the rest of the world sleeps, I have summited and become another part of that spectacular beauty.

Okay- i know this seems totally counterintuitive- but I feel the most beautiful when I wake up in the morning. Something about the start of the day just makes me feel fresh and natural. Comfortable clothes, messy hair and bare feet. It’s when I feel most like me.

I feel most beautiful when I’m around people who I know love me, because I know they’ll love me even if I’m not beautiful, but they do think I’m beautiful, and they tell me how beautiful i am every chance they get, even if I don’t believe them.

I feel most beautiful when I actually have the chance to dry/style my hair and put on a little makeup!  And when I have a nice outfit on…instead of gym clothes or shorts and tees, which is the norm on most days 🙂  The last time I felt extra pretty was date night with my husband.  It was the first and last time we’ve been out together since my daughter was born!

    Alison Guse says:

I feel the most beautiful right before I hit the stage for a performance. After getting all dolled up for an hour plus…after rehearsing and practicing for what seems to be an endless amount of time. It all comes down to the one night of performing in front of a crowd full of beautiful people. In the end, it’s a reflection of me looking at them. They are truly why I do what I do.

I definitely feel the most beautiful when I am smiling or laughing. I think it’s because I am sending positive energy into the world and that makes me feel at my best. It doesn’t hurt that I’ve been complemented on how great my smile is. 🙂

I feel the most beautiful when I’m wearing a piece of jewelry that I made—lots of positive mojo in a sense of accomplishment. Lindsay’s work and success are a great inspiration!

    Elizabeth says:

I feel the most beautiful when I’ve been eating really healthy food.  Both my parents have eating disorders, so it’s been a looooong journey trying to figure out how take care of myself, love myself, and eat strong life-giving food.  So, when I feel most beautiful is when I’m washing my face at the beginning or the end of the day and I notice that I’m strong and healthy – and can be thankful for it.

I absolutely feel the most beautiful at night when I’m singing my kids to sleep. I’m not the world’s best singer, but it’s just what they need, and only I can deliver it—they look at me like I’m their hero for that small little time we have each day. It’s wonderful.

    Sandi says:

I feel the most beautiful right here right now. This time last year I was diagnosed with this crazy rare blood disorder where I developed bruises all over my body. With it came weight gain, hair loss, and bad skin from all of the medication I was taking. I have since recovered and have never been happier and felt more beautiful. Most of my normal self is back, not only physically but also mentally. I literally see myself as a goddess now because of “beauty” that I took for granted before.

I feel the most beautiful when I’m at the beach, or visiting a foreign land – because I am at my happiest.

    Dottie says:

The sun slants into my apartment windows at 3:30 in the afternoon.  The light turns all the rooms golden in the half hour before I leave for my hourly retail night gig. I’m not thinking how quickly time is passing now or how the shift will drag–my perspective widens somehow when the sun finds me in the city between buildings. I stand there feeling strong and capable, as if what I value is worth seeking out. My will gets galvanized: I’m beautiful and smart, and I’m not giving anything up. And then I leave the house.

    Rachel Gray says:

I’m a full time veterinary technician and student, and my free time is extremely precious to me. When I volunteer and donate my time to utilize my skills for the good of animals, I feel strong and radiant. I feel like i’m at my raw, natural state and that goodness, warmth, and beauty comes from within me rather than my physical appearance.  I used to worry so much about how I look, but now I’m less concerned since I know that my worthiness is tied to much more than that.

    Sparrow says:

I feel the most beautiful when I’m in a crowd of people and I look over and see my husband from across the room and he gives me a look like, “Let them all enjoy you for now, but I’m the one taking you home.” We have a secret garden between us that nobody else can enter, that is ours alone and that we share whether we are home slumped on the couch together, under the dog pile of our three boisterous boys, or catching each other’s eye from across a crowded room. Damn, that man makes me feel beautiful.

I feel the most beautiful on Saturday night when I’m getting ready to go out on our weekly day with my husband. Freshly showered and relaxed, my hair is done and I’m wearing a dress he likes. On his arm I always feel beautiful.

    Nikki says:

I feel the most beautiful when I am wearing a dress and dangly earrings, and a little mascara.  I know that the dresses I wear flatter my body (they should, I picked them lol) and the sway of the dangles in my ears makes me sensitive to how I move and fills me with a flirty type of awareness of my own body.  It’s nice to be ornamented and jewelry with a little mascara is the perfect touch–not too much, a little sparkle and polish!

    Monica Borge says:

I feel most beautiful surrounded by my friends and family. I’ve dealt with eating disorder problems and they’re the one’s that helped get me passed it. I own them my healthy beauty.

    Caitlin R. says:

I feel most beautiful after a long day of running around trying to get everyday things done, and then everyone once in awhile my 4 year old son will turn to me mid-day-chaos and say “…Mommy you look soooo cute!” Its probably the one of the best feelings ever.

    Samantha S says:

During my early-morning runs, in the last mile. Objectively I know it’s not likely, because my face is bright red and I’m sweating, but I love the way my body feels in motion–powerful and speedy– and running lets me concentrate on things other than how people might think about me.

I feel the most beautiful when I’m covered in paint splotches. When I’m working on a project and completely consumed with the beautiful mess of it. That is when I feel most sure of myself, the most confident. I find my beauty in confidence and a bucket of paint!

    Maiasatara says:

I can give you one of each! (Although this is a tough one for me because Rheumatoid Arthritis and med side effects are decidedly not pretty.) Time of day – twilight. Sure the light is gorgeous but as a musician, evening always meant a lot of fun doing something I loved. Outfit – black turtleneck sweater, skirt, tights and suede shoes all in a second color. I imagine I’m Cyd Charisse dancing with hot men. Place – the beach. Warm skin, aroma of coconut and water, sounds of children playing, beautiful views and a big cooler of watermelon. All five senses! The best – when I make others laugh. That’s my beauty that has nothing to do with how I look.
