{shop :: Facebook :: Twitter :: Instagram}

I have a vintage clutch purse that is shaped like a giant envelope and made out of brown leather. I use it for my Kindle. I have an array of small pouches in my bag that hold all of my random objects. One for toiletries, one for paper stuffs, one for loose change, and my wallet. Now the wallet is the point of interest here. See, I have gone through many a wallet trying to find my perfect match. With a ton of cards for different stores and rewards systems, I realized my wallet was overflowing and giant. Instead, I watched my husband with his simple billfold eloquently use it to hold the essentials. And I felt inspired. I decided I needed a “traditional” men’s wallet. So I’ve been looking.

Friends, Made in Mayhem is a game changer. Luz Northrop founded Made in Mayhem to bring rich leather and quality construction to the market. (Also, follow Made in Mayhem on Instagram for behind the scenes!)  These leather goods are simple and classic and crafted with perfection. I, for one, think the Luddington New Saddle is exactly what I’ve been missing these last few years. Sidenote: I am absolutely purchasing a Washington Wallet for my husband as well. Made in Mayhem is a brand that fits the family, folks.

Made in Mayhem is giving away one Washington Wallet in Slate to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Wednesday, February 26th. Comments now closed…good luck!
Please visit Made in Mayhem (and follow them on Instagram!) and tell us: What is in your purse right this very minute?

My purse is actually pretty clean right now. I have 2 coupons for Target, a map of the outlets near my house, a ticket stub from seeing the Long Island Medium, and 5 lipsticks. Yup. 5 of them.

I keep my purse clean, only the necessary items. Wallet, cell phone, keys, lip balm, hand sanitizer, sunglasses case, notebook, pen, a small bag for a mini drugstore.

there is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much in my purse right now. It is more of a ‘Tote” burse – in it is A wallet way too big, credit cards I don’t use – probably 3 or 4 lipsticks (which I also don’t often use); Coupons, oversized glass case (for my sunglasses), protein bar, mints, small bottle of water, portable cell phone charger, earbuds and old receipts.  Thanks for reminding me  it is time to clean it out

Way too much stuff – wallet, makeup case (overstuffed), phone, 2 lip balms just floating around, notepad, pen, red crayon, tissues, mints, gum, granola bar, sharpie (never know who you might meet), a leatherman, a whistle, and rosary beads.

I have a thing for bags. SO inside my purse are several bags, my lunch bag, my cosmetics bag, my wallet on a string, and a clutch I use to carry feminine items to the restroom. That’s a lot of bags right!? I also have a small emergency tin filled with bandaids and such, my chapstick sunglasses, work badge, my vitamins, and a little light that goes on when you move your bag around. It helps to see inside your dark bag! I thought it was silly when my friend gave it to me for xmas but now I think it’s pretty genius.

I usually carry a small purse.  In it is a small wallet, lip gloss, small amount of hand cream, some lose change, my iphone, bobby pins, and a few hair ties.  I try to travel light when I can.

(1.) Wallet with bank & credit cards & a library card & health insurance card & blood donor card & money (2.) a pen (3.) 3 keys (1to my car, 1 to the shop where I work, 1 to my parents’ house, my house doesn’t have a lock, so no housekey) (4.) a little leather card wallet with loyalty cards & my husband’s library card (because he is always asking me to get his books too) & an emergency $20 that I carry in memory of my grandmother who always insisted that I should have it and would press money on me when I was without it (5.) a pack of berrymint gum (6.) my favorite sunglasses (silver framed aviators) in a soft case (7.) a loose bank deposit receipt because I got a paycheck today and stopped at the bank on the way home (8.) spf lip balm (also good for smoothing down eyebrows to look more groomed in a pinch) (9.) some beauty/emergency items in the interior zippered pocket: 1 plastic toothpick, 2 tampons, 1 thin pantiliner, 2 mini vials of single use eyedrops, 1 small red heart shaped tin full of papaya enzymes, 1 small white heart shaped tin full of aspirins (both tins a gift from my mother), a mini-mini container of q-tips for makeup touchups or whatever, a blue man’s hanky that was my grandfather’s, 1 lipgloss that goes with everything, 1 rollerball of plumeria essential oil, 1 sample size container of the smoothing hair serum I like, 2 ponytail holders (in case I want pigtails and not just a ponytail or a bun), 1 big bobbypin (if I want to sweep my bangs to the side, 4 regular bobbypins (if I want to put my hair up into a twist), 10 mini hair plastic rings (if I want to make mini boho braids all over my head).  It all looks like a lot listed, but it’s a very light purse and everything is used!  (But I could really use a new wallet, I don’t like being spread between two, and my “official” wallet is wearing out and I haven’t found one I like yet–but I like yours very much!!

Always too much and yet somehow I’m often not carrying the specific thing I’m looking for. Several pens, a rainbow pencil, and a sharpie. A pack of Kleenex. Random mints, tictacs, and gum. My beautiful blue leather wallet. Every ticket stub so far this year, destined for the corkboard of memories. A dozen bobbie pins, a spin pin, three hair elastics, and two headbands. Inhalers and ibuprofen.  Lip balms in four different forms.

I’ve been looking off and on for a bifold card wallet for my dad, since his is so well-loved it’s falling apart. Of course, he doesn’t want just any replacement; he wants that same wallet again. This one looks just right.

i’m currently on exchange here in america, so before i left home i made sure to only bring my essentials: a wallet (and not even my usual wallet, it was a bright kiddy canvas one which i’ve since replaced with a coin purse that has card slots, i fold my bills and stuff them into the card slots), my cellphone, my passport for id purposes, tissue paper, a camera (for touristy reasons but even then most of the time i wind up using my phone), lip balm, house keys that i got only after arriving here… that’s about it! i carry a backpack to school with my notes in it, and the essentials just go in with the rest of the stuff. i never was one to carry around much anyway, and i’ve learnt to pare that down even further when i came here.

    Susie says:

My wallet (which needs pruning!), a small pouch of emergency items (hair ties, barrette, floss, blotting papers, lip balm, microfiber cloth for cleaning eyeglasses, bandaids, ricola, arnica, and excedrin), a baggie with a notepad, crayons, and stickers (emergency pack for the kids!), a self-packing grocery bag, 2 pens, tissue pack, battery pack / phone charger, electrolyte tabs, and a little tape measure.

When I switch to a small purse, I always grab the tape measure, emergency pack, cash, drivers license, and insurance cards. A streamlined wallet design like yours would solve the problem of the loose cash and cards in the bag! And look gorgeous to boot.

    Erin Martin says:

My purse looks like it exploded inside! My wallet, keys, tampons, one too many lip glosses, lipsticks and chap stick (for a total of 6), gum, WAY TOO MANY receipts, iphone case that isn’t on my phone, plastic spoon, hairbrush, my calendar from last year still, 2014 pocket calendar, 5 pens, eyeglass case, agenda and papers from my last Junior League meeting, coupons, cough drops, and a wristlet. I think that’s it! It’s time to clean out the purse!

Diapers, a change of clothes for each of my sons, Buzz Lightyear, cell phone, wallet, 3d glasses, chapstick, a pen, bubbles, a rubber giraffe, some granola bars and a green apple. I uess what used to be a big hobo style purse has slowly morphed into a diaper bag over the last three years.

My wallet situation is a bit of a mess at the moment.  In November someone stole my wallet…and although getting a new bank account, clearing up the identity theft, etc. was a big pain, I was even sadder about the loss of my wallet – it was one that my grandma gave me 4 years ago and made me think of her and smile.
I haven’t had the heart to replace it…so right now…I have a makeshift pouch situation that is *almost* the right size. I have stuffed into it my important cards, bandaids and Neosporin samples (you never know!), and a folded up paper from my daughter when she recently wrote “I love you mom” for the first time.  Also, all those awful receipts I keep forgetting to clean out.  (Blast!)

I just bought a new (smaller) purse, because I felt like I was carrying too much. It has my wallet (with money, credit cards, gift cards, coins, receipts), my cell phone, a notepad and pen, a little envelope of coupons, a packet of aleve, a pad, floss, and a pack of gum. Having a smaller purse forces me to carry less!

Wallet, diapers, stuff to keep my two boys occupied during church services, hidden fruit leather for me, an my journal. My boys say such funny stuff every day I have to keep my journal close so I don’t forget to write down the awesome things they say and do. Today my four year old told me,’mom! You look as beautiful as me!!!.” As a woman several days over her due date, it doesn’t hurt to hear that!

    So much in my purse!
Lotion, chapstick, my wallet, pens and pencils, my bag of emergency tampons, a notebook, my MacBook charger, water bottle, tissues, earphones, a compact mirror, plastic bags, napkins, my planner, a stapler, floss, contact solution, eye drops, and a ton of school supplies that I cannot live without! I’m pretty maternal so I try to keep many things I would one day need, just in case!

I just got back from vacay so gave me the chance to empty all the crap I didn’t need to be carrying in my big ‘tote’ style bag – now it is small wallet with 2 credit cards, insurance card, drivers license and $$.   Down to 2 lipsticks, phone charger (it’s my lifeline), mints, toothpicks, and the perfect place for my cell phone when I am away from the house
