{please like Malibu Fox on Facebook here}

I have a confession to make: the bulk of my wardrobe is from mass market, inexpensive, clearance racks in stores that can be found in any city, any state. Granted, a lot of this is for purely practical reasons (I have two small children) and yet…I feel as though I am lacking. My sense of personal style used to speak to my creative side, my fun side. My abundant joy in expressing myself was, often, done through my wardrobe and since I have fallen off that track, I have started to notice it taking a toll on my personality. This realization comes with a sense of relief, actually. To get back on track with abundant style, I merely need to open my eyes.

Danielle Garrow took her lifelong passion for design and created her very first clothing line with Malibu Fox. Combining bohemian fashions with vintage rocker styles, Garrow brings a unique style to the fashion world. Her bright palette and asymmetrical hems harken back to the easy vibe of the 60s and 70s and each piece is able to transition from today to tomorrow and beyond. Friends, you are in for a treat with this one because Malibu Fox’s first collection will debut in stores and on-line in the Spring of 2013 and you have a chance to be at the forefront of fashion! What better way to honor abundance than with a solid dose of inspiration? As far as my personal  “Abundant Style’ board is coming, this Chloe Dress is at the top. What about you?

Black. Brown. Dark green. It’s makes me feel like I desperately need to add some color. Would it kill me to wear pink every once in a while? I doubt it!

    Jenni says:

Lots and LOTS of black, with a few bright colors thrown in. This year I switched jobs and I used to have to wear a uniform of black on black. Now in my new job I love wearing color! I am slowly adding pieces in and love bright pinks and greens. Soooo I get the urge to shop every time I open the closet and I find that pretty exciting!

As my eyes scan the contents of my closet I notice a theme of black and cream. Solids, polka dots, stripes, etc. Then every so often a shot of cobalt blue, neon yellow, or cherry red, hits you like a slap in the face. Black and cream are definitely my style foundation and comfort zone but when I need to shake things up a  bit I do it with a bold bright color because there’s no use in stepping out of the box only half way.

Neutrals! And I hate it! I mean I love it… It’s a complex relationship. I just gravitate towards tan, black and cream! Makes it easy to come up with new combinations I guess, but wish I wasn’t afraid to be that girl rockin’ the sexy red dress!

    Earth tones with pops of color– like a flower garden!  I love it though I do wish I could introduce more patterns & prints– I always go for solids.  The Chloe blouse in the Navajo print would be perfect for example {hint, hint}

    AmyB says:

Looking at my clothes as a whole you see an enormous amount of black but my best loved “statement pieces” are mostly green. Hunter, kelly, sage, grass. I never met a green I didn’t like! I feel prettier in green than any other color because it matches my eyes.

    Courtney J says:

I have lots of blues and pinks! Mostly pale blues and pinks…This makes me feel like I need some awesome accessories that’ll match these colors!

    Suzi C says:

Bit of a mishmash to be honest but my ‘basics’ are black… cardi’s leggings singlets… My dresses range from one end of the rainbow to the other and my favourite dress is a mustardy yellow one with a floral print all over it.. kind of like weedy dandelions. I constantly get compliments when I’m wearing it but just wish I had something to go overtop of it that wasn’t black!

  23. 23
    Christina P says:

Blue. Blue is my favorite color. I also love every blue color – except navy and royal blue. Royal blue is too loud and navy reminds me of Catholic school uniforms. I have very little red…red makes me feel uncomfortable.

    Christy Ann says:

My closet is an absolute rainbow of color, and it makes me happy! I love being colorful, and wearing bright colors gives me a pep in my step! I do notice I have a lot of blue though, in all different shades. Can’t really go wrong with blue!

    msilba says:

Black!  It’s true that New Yorker’s wear a lot of black!  It certainly doesn’t make me feel cheery to look at all the dark clothes, I need some color in my life:)

    Angie says:

Lots of royal blue, lots of sunshine yellow. WAY too much black, obvs.

  27. 27
    Denise says:

A lot of dark neutrals. It only goes to show how scared I am of mixing it up trying bright colors. I desperately wish I knew which colors suit my skin tone though.

Blue. As in, blue jeans. As in, comfy, classic and always in style!

    jessica says:

My closet looks like a rainbow. I even arrange my clothes by color, so really, it looks like a rainbow:) This makes me extremely happy not only because I enjoy wearing a lot of fun colors, but my closet does not have doors so my room always has a rainbow in it!

    Heather N. says:

Definitely gray. Not because I’m a dark and gloomy person, but because I love how it matches with everything during any season!

    Tiffany A. says:

Pink! I have always been a sucker for anything pink! The different shades of pink make me feel different ways… Light pink makes me feel girly and pretty, bright pink makes me feel alive and vibrant!

    Amy M says:

Black is the primary colour in my closet, and it makes me feel wonderful.  I am far more prone to make a statement with blue liquid eyeliner, a striped mohawk for hair, or a shaved head than with my clothes, and my simple black wardrobe (mostly tight fitting t shirts and jeans) helps me do that.

The black is interspersed with some of the brightest fluourescents I can get my hands on, to be fair, and the days I’m decked out in those are some of my favourite days.

  33. 33
    Natalie says:

Blue. I love it how it looks on me, but it also makes me feel boring sometimes. I need to learn what other colors work for me!

  34. 34
    Rebekah says:

I have some color in my closet but mostly black and grey b/c it tends to be the most flattering & can go with pretty much anything which makes my mornings easier but my days & nights not as much fun…I too need a color intervention!

  35. 35
    Kristin says:

Holy cow… everything is black. I clearly need to add some pizzazz to my wardrobe!

  36. 36
    Chryselle says:

Funnily enough, post pregnancy, my closet has either whites or reds in it while ALL my ethnic wear, especially tunics, are black.  Time for a dash of neon, me thinks!

  37. 37
    Ali H says:

Aqua/turquoise/cerulean/teal. Not just any blue but the blue that looks like the ocean back home. Ever since I moved away from the water, I’ve tried to surround myself with that color, to bring a little bit of my seashore paradise with me and add a bit of cheer to my days.

  38. 38
    Sydney VH says:

Grays and browns, actually. They match with basically any pop of color and perfect for any season – count me in 🙂

  39. 39
    Nikki says:

My closet has more grey things in it than any other color, and even though I consider myself a person that loves color, it didn’t bother me a bit to realize that because I think grey is beautiful too! Then moving on to my dresser, I found that my non-hanging clothes are all bright and colorful with lots of turquoise and that made me very happy because I think that is more reflective of who I am!

    Alisa says:

Black is basically my wardrobe.  I feel like it helped promote my lack of social interaction.  I’ve never been good with speaking so it helped me hide in the dark.  However, it’s time for me to just be seen and heard.  I’m starting to add some color, but I still got some work to do!

    monica meza says:

Black, black, black! I adore dark colors, but mainly I’ve been trying to branch out to peaches and corals – which I have been doing, so that color is growing in my closet! I love black, though, and all dark colors in general. Dark colors seem to suit me better!

    Meg T says:

Can we just pretend stripes are a color? If so, it looks like I am set for an eternal nautical voyage! All these stripes makes me feel that if I were ever to fall overboard, I would surely be found (sailor stripes intended purpose). Thanks!

    Anne Hutchinson says:

Black, black gray and when I shopped with someone else a little bit of colour, it makes me feel like I need to step out of my box.

Black. A sea of black. I have some plum (wish I had a little more) and I am thinking I need to accessorize with gold/yellow/orange to really make it pop!

  49. 49
    Sarah says:

Blue, It’s the color I’m drawn to, I always believe I look better when I wear it! I have blue-grey eyes, so I tend to get clothing that matches them. Blue makes me feel beautiful and that I could face anything when I wear it. Blue is often known for meaning sadness. But I believe it means beauty and courage. Blue reminds me of going out on a ride with my family in the small little motorboat we can the “Putt-putt” so blue brings back happy memories! 🙂
