I spent one summer during college backpacking through Greece with some friends. While there are many pieces of advice I could give you (be kind is probably the best), there is one piece of traveling advice that I still adhere to: when it comes to packing jewelry, the simpler the better. See, I learned this one the hard way. In my overloaded backpack, I had included different pieces of large and clunky jewelry to go with different outfits because that was how I rolled. (To my credit, it was 1996. We all rolled a little clunky in the 90’s.) Once my feet were on Greek soil, I wore the same necklace, earrings and ring day in and day out. The rest of the jewelry just weighed me down. Now, when I pack, I only include simple and elegant pieces that I love and that make me feel like the world traveler I have always wanted to be.
Marilyn Brogan of Meander Works creates simple and elegant handcrafted jewelry Each piece is worked from start to finish by Brogan and her philosophy that all materials be from reputable sources coupled with incredible attention to detail translates into the workmanship. As Brogan states, “Fine jewelry should be a work of art, not a mass-produced object cast and created by the thousands in the pursuit of profits.” The Cumulous Earrings are the perfect accessory for your travels (whether that means your sipping your morning coffee on your couch or a leisurely stroll through Paris at dusk.) Had I owned the Stacking Rings, I can guarantee my summer vacation in Greece would have been properly accessorized without having to pack another thing. Lesson learned.
