Lately, trends have shown that handwritten correspondence is making a comeback. My question is: when did it ever go away? For me, there is nothing like a beautifully illustrated card filled with the actual penmanship of a loved one to cure all that ails me. To be honest, I even like handwritten notes from strangers and have been known to snatch up old postcards written in faded ink from years past. I digress. Do yourself a favor this year and give the chance to give someone a tangible memory. Find a fantastic card and write them a love letter. Whether it be to a partner, a family member, or a colleague, give the gift of love.

Meera Lee Patel is an artist whose work speaks volumes about the kind of life she lives. Only a person who truly embraces doing what you love could bring this much beauty into the world. From one of a kind notecards to gorgeous shopping totes that you will find yourself carrying everywhere, Patel has a knack for the simple, the clean, the stylish. And this 2013 Calendar Tea Towel? Talk about the perfect gift! From start to finish, Meera Lee Patel has something for everyone on your list. Yourself included.

Meera Lee Patel is giving one winner the following prize package: one Super Foods Canvas Shopper, one set of In India I Saw Buttons, one Birds of the Wild Print! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Tuesday, December 18th. Comments now closed…good luck!

I really love the Grateful for you greeting card set… I would send one to grandmother because she is always there for me and supports me, 1 to my grandfather because he works so hard to take care of grandmother, 1 to my brother that is in college and I don’t get to see, and my last card I would frame to put in my baby girls nursery on her wall art wall!

I adore the Birds of the wild print! I have had it bookmarked on my Etsy for so long!!! It’s just such a beautiful print with such vibrant colors and fluid movement. I would love to have it hanging in my office at work to bring a little beauty, whimsy and a sense of freedom and possibility to my windowless little room :)

“falling all around me”: I knee-jerkingly saw it and instantly thought of my very best friend Heather, who will probably read this seeing as though she introduced me to TBSP. Heather Feather. Know you are so loved and I so appreciate our friendship to the point of no-return. This is for you :)

I have a wonderful friend who is making big changes in 2013. She is leaving her safe office job and moving across the company with her love to start up a business in farming. She is passionate about eating whole, healthy foods and I think that the Super Foods Canvas Shopper and maybe even the Garden Herb Tea Towel would be beautiful going away gifts. I would also include some home made goodies from a dear friend who will miss her (that’s me!).

The Wild and Free print reminded me of my son. That description fits my little 6 year old to a tee. What struck me is how beautiful and noble the lion looked. I sometimes wish my son would conform a bit to fit the mold of your average kindergartener, but this print reminded me of the beauty in being a free spirit. Thanks!

I love the “Things I Don’t Want To Tell Anybody // hand-sewn blank journal”…this would be great for one of my co-workers. We both teach high school, so there are plenty of things we want to say about our job (and students, and their parents, and other teachers, and teaching in general) that we really don’t want to tell anybody.

I really love the “Variations on Wings” series. I have been looking for some special prints for my sons room and these are full of the wonder and beauty of nature. We live in a climate that is winter most of the year so I try to bring the colors of summertime inside our house year round for his benefit. He is a boy obsessed with birds and I am sure he would appreciate these lovely prints.

The Birds of the Wild print is so beautiful! If I were to win it, I would probably frame it and give it to my mother in law, who loves birds. She has a beautifully-decorated lake house with lots of neutral colors and I just love the idea of a bright pop on one of her walls! (I would be tempted to keep it for myself just for the lovely pinks and blues, even though I’m not that into birds themselves! But I would probably pass it along because it’d be more perfect for her!)

    Lindsay says:

Very difficult to decide! I think right now what I would most like is the “This Will be Our Year” card. I have a friend, whom I’ve had forever and each year I send him a card at Christmas that doesn’t focus on the holiday, it focuses on all of the amazing things we’ve achieved throughout the year, and I always end it with the sentiment that the coming year will be better yet. I love thinking of all of the new experiences we’ll have!

    Heather N. says:

I would have to say the “I miss you” cards for my best friend Sydney who knows me SO well and knows that I would love the “Falling All Around Me” cards…and that I would read it on The Brightside Project! I miss you best friend, wish we still lived in the same city.

Besides the super foods tote and the birds of the wild print (both for my sister) I love the “howl the fox” post cards. I would gift them to my friend Susie, and hope she sent me one back lol

The Trails Flycatcher print would be perfect for my sister-in-law. She loves birds so much. Her family literally had 50+ birds while she was growing up. One day, there was this dove that was hanging around my brother-in-law’s grill and he was threatening to shoot it, so my sister-in-law captured it during the night, had it tended to at a vet and it now lives with her. She is dedicated to her birds!

Love the Bacon & Beer Festival print. It would be perfect for my brother who happens to be a bacon fanatic!
