Here at the BSP, we often find ourselves overwhelmed with inspiration when we learn about our contributors and the good things they do with their work. In fact, the stories behind the products is one of the reasons we love what we do here. Our community is full of amazing individuals pursuing their passion and their creativity and there are quite a few of them who bring even more to the table.
Gracie Moakler met a woman at a grocery store who told her a story about drug abuse and addiction that turned into a tale about redemption. Moakler was so inspired, she went home and created a hand-stamped piece of jewelry for her. Her passion was ignited. As time went on, she met other women from similar circumstances who wanted to learn how to make jewelry and Miriam Designs was born. These are hand-crafted pieces that are born of hope, and beauty, and redemption. It is art with purpose. In Moakler’s words:
Little did I know how much I would learn from working alongside them… like how to laugh until it hurts, to allow hope to conquer my fear, and to experience the healing that comes through a community that loves unconditionally.
That, my friends, is what community is all about.
