Honestly, most days my skin care routine is a couple of splashes of warm water in the morning, and a wash with hot water and a mix of castor and extra virgin olive oils in the evening. Since I hand mix my face wash oil, I adjust the amount of each oil as needed to keep my skin hydrated. In the summer I’ll put a facial use specific sun screen on my face as well.

My routine is pretty basic – cleanser and moisturizer. And I don’t wear make up, so my pores get to breath all day.

    Jenni says:

A gentle wash while in the shower, a dab of moisturizer and some SPF. I’ve had the same routine for well over a decade now and I thank my lucky stars for starting out so young!

    Emma L says:

I don’t really have one beyond cleansing and moisturizing, although the loud sound of age knocking on my door tells me that it is time to implement one. I do religiously drink a lot of water, though – surely, if I stay hydrated on the inside, my skin will remain ever so slightly happy, too?

Wash & moisturize – I also use a balm on my lips & dab a bit of eye cream under my eye.

Nese looks like they make some pretty things! I like their face palettes but I can never figure out if I’m cool or warm.

My current routine needs to be upgraded! I wash my face once or twice a day and use an SPF moisturizer. I also use lots of lip balm. That’s it! Thanks for the opportunity I’d love to change up my routine. 🙂

While I have no fear of aging, I am aware that each year brings the need to be more deliberate in taking care of my face and skin forefront–and that I can no longer relay on “youth” to make up for negligence or laziness!  The most important parts of my daily skin care include plenty of sleep, drinking LOTS of water, taking fish oil pills, and wearing a smile (because the lines on my face should happily display my attitude and outlook on life not my insecurities or anxieties)!!  The rest of what I do includes washing with a nice cleanser, dotting on serum or acne gel depending on “the state of things” and then high SPF moisturizer & SPF lip balm.  Some days or evenings I wear makeup, which I LOVE, depending on what’s happening.  Bedtime involves washing again, and either moisturizer or a fade cream from the dermatologist (I recently have had IPL for skin sun damage) and a nice eye cream and lip moisturizer.  I really try not to pick or obsess about my skin but there are stray hairs to pluck and blemishes to soothe if I’m going to be really honest.  I am thankful for the good, healthy, products that are available and a nice round face that looks younger than my age (38)! Nese’s philosophy sounds perfectly in line with how I feel skin care products should function–to help your skin and present a more polished & appealing appearance!

My routine varies depending on whether it is morning or night, and on whether I need to remove makeup, but generally I cleanse with a gentle cream cleanser (although sometimes if my skin is feeling dry I will skip the cleanser and do the oil-cleansing method instead), follow up with a spritz or two of toner, apply either a facial oil or serum to damp skin, while that is absorbing use a gentle moisturizing eye cream around my eyes, and finish off with a moisturizer on my face and neck.  I also like to do some kind of face mask one to two times per week. I often whip up a DIY mask (usually with coconut oil, yogurt, honey or some combination of the three), but one of my current non-DIY favorites is Phenome’s Blossom Therapeutic Mask.

    Kate B says:

Wow, everyone else is much better at this than I am! I usually wash my face in the shower, though if I’m feeling extra foggy-headed, I might forget. That is it. No moisturizer, no toner, nothing at night. Face masks, serums, creams, anything “extra” I buy just sits because after a flash of inspiration and motivation in the store, I tend to get complacent when back home. I’m sure it’ll all catch up with me someday! I keep trying to coax myself into changing my stripes, but it’s sure difficult!

    Anna L says:

My daily skincare routine is not too time consuming.  Once I wake up in the morning, I wash my face with cool water and get ready for the day ahead.  I use my daily Neutrogena face moisturizer with SPF 15.  It’s a very light, colorless cream.  I will then go and live my day.  In the shower, I use a St. Ives scrub on my face.  Right before I go to sleep, I use Clean and Clear astringent on a cotton, and that really removes all the dirt I didn’t know I had!  I haven’t found foundation or power that fits me yet, so I’ve been sporting an all natural look these days.

    Courtney says:

In the morning, I take a shower and once a week exfoliate my face. Then I after I dry off, I use Garnier Fructis’ BB Cream.

Gentle cleanser, toner, eye cream and spf. I wish I had more time in the morning and more funds to try expensive brands 🙂

    jane says:

it’s really simple, i clean my face with cetaphil and use neutrogena’s pore refining cleanser on alternate days as an exfoliator, then a simple toner and moisturiser from neutrogena’s hydro boost range. i don’t use make up even though i’m in university; i think in singapore it’s quite normal for people to go about barefaced without any obligation to “cover up” so to speak, or at least it’s ok here on my campus 🙂

    Natasha says:

My daily skincare routine is wash, moisturize, prime, foundation and then an exfoliator 2-3 times a week!

I wash my face off in the shower with warm water and a wash cloth. Then I apply a sunscreen/lotion. The end 🙂 Simple is easy.

Wet face, scrub face, dry face, lotion. I have a very (very!) small window of time for myself before one of the babies need something and I do what I can. I wish I could have a spa facial every once in a while!

    Aleta says:

My strategy is very simple… just facewash morning and night. And big hats to keep the sun off my face!

    Susan F says:

I keep my daily routine pretty simple. Cetaphil cleansing am and pm.  A good daytime and nighttime  moisturizer (right now using Lancome, but ready to switch) now that I’m hitting the BIG 62 🙂 – When I use makeup I make sure it has SPF 15 and am careful in the SoCal sun

    Charlotte D. says:

I don’t do much. Just wash with water and moisturize a lot especially during the winter when my skin gets very dry. To pamper myself, I sometimes use steam for my face. My skin feels good and good for my sinuses too.

  23. 23
    cindy says:

I keep it clean and simple! A warm water rinse in the morning shower followed by sunscreen and a cleansing wipe at night to remove the day and then just let my skin breathe all night 🙂

  24. 24
    Courtney J says:

In the morning, I wash my face in the shower using an acne cleanser. When I get ready for the day, I apply moisturizer or tinted BB cream (I like to transition between the two), and I also apply powder to set the moisturizer and cover up acne scars. In the evening, I wash my face again with a different acne cleanser, one that also contains a cleaner for make up residue. I don’t wear moisturizer at night, but I do apply eye cream to stop the skin around my eyes from drying out (that tends to happen during the summer…).

    Bubbles says:

Turning 68 was not monumental birthday, but it does remind me that I need to follow a specific routine to stave off the deep wrinkles and “old looking skin”. I use a facial soap and rotating facial brush in the morning followed by a daytime moisturizer for mature skin. My foundation contains sunscreen so that I do not add to the damage already done by decades of sun worship at the beach using no sunscreen – only coconut oil. Fortunately my skin did not react to all that abuse – I have only a few wrinkles and have had no sun damage to my facial skin. Evenings consist of makeup remover and night replenishing cream for mature skin.

My lip colors also contain sunscreen and I use a gloss comprised of shea butter (SeneGence)

    Emily B says:

My daily routine isn’t unique or interesting. It involves a gentle cleanser, water, toner, and moisturizer morning and night. More than routine, I think the quality of product is most important. I also try to be a good steward of my body. I eat whole foods and drink plenty of water and exercise. I want to embrace my age gracefully and treat my body with care and with the respect due as the miraculous gift that it is.

1.) I start by washing my face with a light cream
2.) Then I use an exfoliating scrub
3.) On every other day I use a black activated charcoal mask for 10 minutes
4.) pat dry, then use a natural rose-water toner
5.) then finish off with a oil-free organic moisturizer

1.) wash my face again with a light cream
2.) Use several products for problem areas, such as a dark spot corrector, or an over night mask
3.) then I get to end it all by using my favorite: natural dead sea moisturizer!

Yes, I know that is a lot of work, but it gives me bragging rights on my skin! 🙂
