Let’s talk for a moment about heat, shall we? Here in Southern California, we are in the midst of a serious heat wave so there couldn’t be a more apropos time to celebrate “Endless Summer.” There has been a lot of time spent inside with a controlled temperature and diy craftiness. This is one of those times of year when I take stock of the art in my home and start redecorating and reorganizing. This is also the time of year when I spend a lot of time online looking for new pieces to bring into my home. BRIKA (as we’ve mentioned before!) is a great resource for fantastic artisans and today’s contributor is no exception.

Beth Duffy and Erik Kistel were looking for unique, ready-to-hang art for their home and couldn’t find exactly what they wanted. Rather than waste their time and money on second best, they created their own. Post Studio houses beautiful and bold artwork and home goods that are sure to celebrate the sunshine in your life. This Aqua Map West Print is an absolute must for my walls, to be sure. And this Mounted Diamond Mounted Print makes me feel like this heat wave is only a sign of good things to come. That, my friends, is what art is designed to do. Post Studio has just the design you need.

Post Studio is giving away one $40 gift certificate to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Thursday, September 12th. Comments now closed…good luck!
Please visit Post Studio and tell us: What is your favorite season…and why?
Start checking the winner’s box on Monday, September 16th, to see if you’ve won!

Summer for sure! I love being warm. Where I live, it stays light out until 10 p.m. It’s great. I’ll miss that in the winter.

Holy smokes, those mounted prints coated with resin are just gorgeous! I’ve never seen anything quite like them!

Autumn is easily my favorite season. I love the feeling of relief as the weather turns cooler and the heat recedes. I get to wrap myself up in my favorite fabrics and actually feel *comfortable* in my clothes, rather than sweating in them. Fall also brings most of my favorite foods and cooking sounds enjoyable again, since turning the oven on doesn’t make me want to cry. I love to whip up gingersnaps, stuffed acorn squash, vegetarian chili, and start my mornings with hot cocoa. Also, not for nothing, football is novel and exciting again (I’ll be Over It by the end of November). There are definitely things I appreciate about all of the seasons, but autumn always gets me excited and makes me feel as if I’m starting a new adventure!

My favorite season is summer.  I love the sunshine and warm weather, longer days and extra time spent outside.  I love, love, love walking barefoot over cool green grass.  It just doesn’t get much better than that.

My favorite season is always the one I am in, except winter.  I wish I could say I had a better appreciation of the cold, hard , bitter months, but alas!   I tell myself it makes me more grateful for the other seasons, and I hope it does.  I try to love what has been given to me  but sometimes I need a little help (and perseverance!)

Winter.  I never get over the magic of the Christmas tree with twinkle lights, and candles lit up, even during the day, that make everything glowy and beautiful.  It’s the best time of year for baking, and it’s the best time of year for families and friends to get together over holidays.

I really like Spring because it’s when everything seems and feels new, plus there’s summer to look forward to. The weather is decent, calm, and constantly sunny (I live in CA). I like the connotations of spring too…

My favorite season is fall. It becomes so quite, and the weather is just right. Everything turns orange (which is my favorite color). It so graceful to sit under a tree and read a favorite book while the leaves fall all around you. Fall is also very poetic. It’s very inspiring to me. Plus it includes my favorite holiday! Halloween!

Autumn in New England really can’t be beat! Being able to wear sweaters again is one of the highlights of the year for me! And fall in New England has its own smell – a combo of leaves, fire, wind and chill. Fall is worth the humidity of summer and the freeze of winter.

I love fall – I would love to wear a sweater or sweatshirt all year because it feels like you are wrapped in a blanket all the time. I also love how invigorating it smells like outside and the smell of a bonfire.

    Kadi says:

Maybe it’s just because I live in Florida and am tragically devoid of season (perpetual summer months over here), but Winter is my favorite season. When I’m able to get further North, I revel in the art of snuggling, fireside sitting, sipping spiked hot chocolate, and frolicking in the snow. Sucking in a deep breath of frigid air makes me feel awake, rejuvenated, and puts a spring in my snow covered step. I truly love the idea of celebrating the renewal of life by bringing giant evergreens inside and hanging branches on the door… It’s barren, but beautiful. Can’t get enough.

    Bethanni says:

Winter, the chill in the air, while you’re cuddle under a blanket with some warm soup and a good book. Nothing beats that for me. I yearn for the months when it starts getting colder, and get all giddy with the idea of bundling up to take a stroll in the snow. Snowball fights, sledding, and even the thought of ringing in a new year. It also helps that my birthday is the winter, I think that’s another reason I truly love it.

    Jan Stanfill says:

It would have to be autumn.  I love the change in the light, the crispness in the air and the plate-size leaves that fall in my yard from the trees.  I’m pretty sure there is an art project in the making with the plate size leaves that fall.

    AUTUMN!
The crunch of leaves under my cute new boots, the look of my breath in the air on that first freezing morning, an overcast day filled with lots of rain, making the bright fall colors on the trees glow in comparison, the warm delicious soups simmering on the stove top during cozy weekends at home, warm fuzzy scarves, structured beautiful coats and seep saturated color. I just LOVE the fall!

I live in Alaska and there is only a two week window for autumn. It makes the colors more radiant, the smells more intense and the season in general more appreciated…at least to me!

hmm this is a tough question to answer, because i’ve only ever lived in tropical Singapore, where summer is really endless! so i don’t have much experience to draw from… guess i’ll have to go with summer as my answer. i really wasn’t able to appreciate this season when i was younger because it was always hot (and humid!) but over the years i’ve come to appreciate how this “endless summer” has given me the privilege of seeing flowers bloom all year round, sudden thunderstorms to cool the sweltering heat when it gets too hot, the opportunity to engage in outdoor sports wearing only singlets and shorts without worrying about freezing my toes off… and the chance to chill out with loved ones whenever i want; summer always equates to chilling out for me 🙂

Summer, because I enjoy the beach, the heat makes you feel justifiably lazy but alive and I love all the bright colours people wear, black and grey practically disapear! But towards the end of summer I find myself looking forward to fall. I guess every season makes the other ones even better…!!!

Autumn! It’s just beautiful. The leaves on the trees turning lots of pretty colours, waking up to dew on the ground, the kids collecting conkers, cooking more wintery food and being able to bring out the knitwear again! I just love it!

My fav. season is definitely fall! Fall in the East coast gives you a small taste of all the seasons at once, one day it will be warm enough to wear short, or cool enough for your favorite sweater. You also can’t forget the changing colors and all the fall desert ( sweet potato pie, pumkin pie, pumkin spice cake and cookies, yum!) Fall also brings many oppurtunities for the family to come together with halloween , thanksgiving , and veterans day. There is no reason to not like fall!!

Fall is both my favorite and my husbands. For one, we were married in the fall, so that just solidified our previous love for the season. he first half of Fall is like a mini extension of Summer in Seattle. Some of our best weather is in September! We enjoy some great out door concerts, hikes. Even with all of the sun in September the air just smells different, the mornings have a fog and they make you want to cozy with your love for a bit longer while reading and sipping your coffee. In October as the weather shifts and the chill sticks through out the day I happily welcome back my favorite sweaters and get to work in the kitchen making pumpkin and other squash dishes! You know Fall really does have the best food!? Um..Thanksgiving anyone!?
