As our month-long focus on abundance is nearing its end, let’s take the time to take stock, create reminders, pass down stories. Let’s honor our abundance with the intention of remembering it. These are, after all, the riches we carry with us. Sure, we could document our lives on lined college paper, but there is something incredibly fulfilling about choosing a book that deserves such weight.

Sarah Crawford creates gorgeous hand-sewn and hand-bound books that are worthy of the moments. Under the banner Renewed Upon a Dream, Crawford  showcases her art through paper that is unabashedly worthy. These are the kinds of black books you buy for someone for their birthday and then end up keeping on your nightstand. This beauty seems perfect for my abundance journal. How about you? Which one would you choose?

Renewed Upon a Dream is giving away one Grey Leather Journal with Lace Edge to one lucky winner. To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Tuesday, December 4th.  Comments now closed…good luck!
Which book from Renewed Upon a Dream would you choose and what abundance would you document on page 1?

I have to agree with poster #1. the owl notebook is really cute, but the christmas journal with the red birds was fun too. I have some dishes with that same pattern idea on them!

I would use it to start a tradition of keeping special Christmas memories with our family from every year!

I love the classic black leather journal. Simple, handmade, and full of empty pages waiting to be filled. What more could you ask for?

Hand torn, a simple string, cowhide leather bound – I cannot think of a book more special to write in when traveling the world, keeping hidden thoughts and observations deep inside.

Gosh, they are all so beautiful – but I love the Maroon Leather & Lace Journal! I would use it to write down something good that happened on each day of 2013, so that when the year is over I can look back and remember all the beauty that I have been blessed  with.

i’m quite smitten with the “Lace on Pea Green Handbound Jotter Blank Notebook” and i think i would record the abundance of my kitchen in sketches of what i cook. i am trying to learn to document by sketch and it would sure look pretty in such a book.

    Emma L says:

The one with the red Christmas birds! I would probably use it to document all the ideas for little short stories that keep popping up inside my head at the most inopportune moments (leading to my “writing box” being full of napkins, post-its, notecards, shredded newspaper edges, and torn-out bits of yellow pages – all with ideas scribbled on them). It would be great to have them all collected in one spot!

These journals are beautiful and this has always been an art I’ve been interested in. Someday I’ll try it out. My eye automatically found the journals covered in the Italian floral prints (http://www.etsy.com/listing/113547901/fruit-floral-handbound-book-or-journal). I also love the journal featured here with the lace detail. I’d cover the first page with my thanks for all things great (My loved ones) and small (a quiet moment by the Christmas tree). Then I’d keep using the journal to track those thankful moments as they happen. It would be fun to look back at and use as a reminder during my down times.

I’d buy the Quarter Leather Jotter with the Metallic Circles in Gold & Teal with Purple Leather. I would write my ideas for art lessons I can teach for my high school students, and reflections on how successful those lessons were (and what I’d do differently next time!).

    Nikki says:

All of the books are beautiful and I can imagine filling each one with either sentimental, witty, somber, or joyous writings according to their styles, but I was most drawn to the Brown Suede Notebook–I was picturing writing a list of my abundant blessings on page 1 and wrapping it closed in the suede cover and buttoning it up with a prayer of thanksgiving.

    Christina P says:

I really love the green & purple clover hardbound journal…I suppose I could write about memories of places I have lived. I wish I had photos of all my college dorms and apartments. And my Grandma’s house, she no longer lives there and my memory is not so fantastic, I wish I had photos and descriptions of all that to remember it by.

I love the lace leather bound in grey jade. It is a really inspiring color and the pearl button makes it look like a hand purse. I love these types of journals that are really fashionable to keep in my purse. Since I am an art student I would be filling the pages with all of my sketches from day to day travel and documenting any of my inspirational mind vomit.

What a gorgeous collection of books! I would use one of these pretty books to write love letters to my son (now 3). Right now these ‘letters’ are random notes, or birthday letters that don’t encompass everyday loveliness very well. Think of it as an extended Facebook status update – reminders of a precious childhood, fleeting moments that are lost too soon. I’d love the Owls book or the one with the pink and orange flowers or ‘the Multicolored Flowers Fabric in Yellow Red Pink & Teal’. These are my favorites, but the others are equally covetable!

    Madeline says:

the leather & lace in grey jade is lovely!!!! i love to keep lists of quotes i read that encourage, inspire, or even kind of scare me… not in a bad way, but in the way that i know i need to take those words to heart & apply them, but then my whole world would be rocked upside down. sometimes it seems safer to write them down & ponder them for a while.

    Erin says:

I love the leather and lace journal in grey jade! I’ve recently been looking for a journal to document meaningful, inspirational and overall simply good quotes (whether from authors, poets, philosophers, musicians or just loved ones), so that I can browse through it when I need a little motivation or a pick me up. So, I would use one of those beautiful books to document the abundance of thoughtful and profound quotes that fly around our heads and in our world everyday, which really showcase the genius and good will of humanity.

  23. 23
    Kate B says:

Oh, the grey jade leather is so beautiful, I’d probably pick one of those books. My husband and I are starting to consider at what point we’d like to start a family. I would love a place to document all of the random thoughts that are bubbling around in my head right now, so I can share them with our kids someday when they are grownups and in the same position.

I love the masculine looking journals, the brown and black leather journals. If I had one, I would start jotting down every time my husband did or said something that reminded me of why I love him so much(which is pretty often!), then give it to him someday. Maybe when we are old, maybe someday when we need reminding, or maybe just because.

    Lindsay says:

I love the Monaco blue leather journal. It’s classy and neat and a beautiful colour that would pop inside a brown leather bag. On the first page I would start it the way I start all journals – with an account of where I am and why I’m there, and how I’m feeling, Halfway down the page it would probably turn into a to-do list, and then revert back to a stream of consciousness!

  26. 26
    Trisha says:

I am a little bit in love with the get rustic notebook. On the first page I would record all of the good things that happened that day, no matter how small. Then I would flip through it whenever I was feeling bad about the world.

    Karleigh says:

The grey with lace as photographed above. I would use it to document my 30 things to do before I turn 30. 🙂 Beautiful books Sarah!

i would choose the grey rustic notebook. its simple and clean, and as a female, i really love masculine esque pieces. ive applied to transfer to a beautiful college up in Main and will receive my admissions decision in a couple of days. Seeing as ive had my fingers crossed for many weeks, i think i can say with confidence, WHEN i get in, i will scribble my excitement on page numero uno of the notebook, and use the rest to document my new college experience

I LOVE the pastel peach swirl design notebook! As for abundances, I am blessed to have an adundance of love in my life. I also have an abundance of pets to love – two dogs and three cats. I have 2 nieces now, but will get two new ones in 2013. I would love that doubling the number of nieces I have would result in an abundance! I am a lucky, lucky girl.

I love the Jotter notebooks. I would give them to my abundance- my six year old, and she would fill the with all the words she’s learning. She’d be thrilled. 🙂

The Grey Rustic Notebook… so simple and sexy. I would love to keep it as sketchbook for drawings while traveling. There’s nothing like a sketchbook that can be (so attractively) strapped closed while in transit.

That little red leather journal is so sweet. I’d start it off with a list of the friends who are such blessings in my life— reading back over lists of things/people I’m thankful for is one way I can always find sunshine and joy despite any challenging circumstances.

    Amy M says:

The Fruit and Floral Handbound Journal!  The abundance written on the first page would be a letter of thanks to the citizens of our world for the abundance of resources they’re provided me from which I can self-educate for the rest of my days — media created by my peers will stay with me forever.

  38. 38
    Karrie Smith says:

Owls Handbound Book Journal or Notebook.  I like this one, although you have MANY beautiful books.  My first page would be about the things I’m grateful for in my life.  I’m in recovery, and without that, I wouldn’t have anything, but the longer I am in recovery I am able to obtain things that were impossible to gain before that.  Abundance of gratitude?  Thanks for the chance to win.  I live right next to Ann Arbor, where Sarah is from 🙂

    Amie Althaea says:

I love the journal with the pink roses… they were my mom’s favorite flower.  I’m overflowing with love and gratitude, today and every day.   Page one would reflect that.  <3
