I’m trying to keep my wallet pared down to essentials. debit card, costco card and my ikea card. my husbands wallet is so crammed with receipts and misc business cards that it hardly will fold in half anymore. he looks like he has a small dog in his back pocket!

i really need a new wallet, i’ve been using a tiny little denim pouch that’s as big as 1/8 an A4 sheet of paper ever since my wallet got stolen 3 years ago!

currently i have my identification card, driving license, student id, ezlink (for taking public transport), library card, atm card, keys and some receipts in my pouch, along with dollar bills folded into quarters and another even tinier pouch to hold all my coins! it’s amazing how much my current pouch can hold haha.

ah, i also used to have passport photos of myself (for admin purposes), photos of me with my friends and encouragement notes from friends but i lost all of them when my wallet got stolen T_T so now i keep all those photos and notes i have at home, since i don’t have a clear window to look at them anyway 🙁

The normal stuff, plastic cards, change, insurance card, but I also have a lock of my son’s hair from his first hair cut (3 years ago). It’s wrapped in a tissue in the bill fold. I put it there to transfer it home, but never took it out.

My wallet has become a collector’s edition of things I probably don’t need, but that I like to see every day: a Canadian dollar bill, a picture with my dad, some business cards of individuals I met along the way, and a carved wooden coin that my brother and I both carry despite the thousands of miles between us. These are the things that mean the most.

I have some pretty random stuff hidden away: a blank check from my French bank account (old habit and because you never know when you’ll need to write a check), driver’s license, three or four business cards, credit card, loyalty card from two or three shops, I used to have a 20e bill to use in emergencies and I used that today because the credit card machine was broken at the cafeteria, I still have tons of Japanese money because I’m lazy and even though I’ve been back for a week I have yet to take out.

Oh, and I have some good luck charms of sorts – a dollar bill, an old Czech coin, an old franc and some other random coins.

I actually love my wallet but it is falling apart so is in need of desperate replacement. My wallet carries my phone, drivers license, 2 credit cards, medical card, and a $20 bill which is my emergency cash. I love carrying a wallet that holds your phone, makes life so much easier!

My wallet carries the basics… cash, credit card, licence, donor card.  It also carries three library cards so I can grab books whether I’m home or at school a few hours away, as well as a 2 for 1 cupcake coupon that I’m saving for a tough day!

ooooooo. to say I need to revamp/take stock/reconsider what is in that mother-load leviathan is an understatement (somewhere, I can feel my husband nodding his head enthusiastically). here’s a glimpse: a love poem from my first boyfriend (I was 18, I’m now…older), the lyrics to a song about photosynthesis that I learned in 10th grade biology, kashi coupons, my student id (not a student anymore), a baby picture of myself (that continues to look more and more like my boys), a few stamps, the usual suspects (credit card, Costco card, library card, license, and multiple insurance cards from the 6 past insurance plans we’ve had, and…a gift card to Cold Stone (waiting for the right moment). My new mantra: simplify.

Very handsome; I love the turquoise. I desperately need to pare back on all the crap in my current wallet. One thing that will STAY is a love note from my husband before we were married that says many sweet things he hopes I will always remember. <3

Driver’s license, visa, debit card, library card, paper money, coins, 2 lottery tickets for the next drawings, Costco card, Old Navy card, return card of credit for Ross, blood donor card, health insurance card.  I keep 2 grocery, 2 drugstore, 2 beauty shops, husband’s library card, & assorted store coupons in a separate pocket of my purse because I don’t like a cluttered wallet though I do keep gift cards and return cards in it–feels safer having things that = $ secure!!  I usually have a current picture of each of my children but I had just taken them out to show someone and haven’t tucked them back yet.  Also, 4 years ago my grandmother gave me $20 to have folded up and set aside in my wallet for “emergencies” and I try to replenish it if it gets spent, but I used it at the Farmer’s Market last Wednesday when the strawberries were calling my name and I was a few dollars short and I haven’t replaced it again yet. (Thanks for the reminder!)

oofa, that’s a big list. i try to keep it as organized as possible, but i have credit cards, money, ids (my license and my college id. i look way cuter in my college id picture so i use that whenever possible. even though i’ve been out of college for three years – shhh!), coupons, reward and frequent customer cards, and the mass cards from my grandfather and aunt who have passed away. i love knowing i always have a small piece of them with me!

    Jac says:

I actually keep two wallets but one is large and the other is small so no matter what size bag I carry I can have all my stuff ready. All I have to do is make sure to transfer my license to the one I’m using. Other than that each one has a cc, spare change, insurance card, gift cards, and some special reminder of my daughter

What’s in my wallet is pretty boring–only credit cards, discount cards, and checkbook!  A few coins.  I do love pulling out a pretty wallet when paying for something.

    Erin says:

I’ve got all the usual suspects – bank cards, drivers license, appointment cards, and loyalty cards. You’ll usually find several receipts, MAYBE a little bit of cash and coin, and bobby pins in the coin purse. Pretty standard!

    Krista says:

Besides the standard drivers license, debit card, Starbucks card, etc. I have silly things in my wallet like receipts from my trip to Paris last autumn and a two dollar bill I will never spend but just in case of an emergency always keep with me.

    Eve says:

I have cash, coins, and my belly card, my ID, my moms business card, photo of my hot boyfriend, and my no blood card. I am a receipt hoarder. Need space for my receipts! I have to keep them to track expenses for work and if my wallet is too small to hold a small stacks of receipts, it’s so inconvenient 🙁
Currently I am carrying two wallets. I’m tryin to be simplified! Two wallets is just not working. I have a nice new handmade leather wallet from Thailand that I got as a gift so I feel obligated to use it, but it doesn’t fit everything 🙁
A wallet upgrade is just necessity at this point. And honestly, theres no good reason as to y I am not a proud owner of a robbiemoto wallet yet.

License, social security card, insurance card, ice cream punch card, student id card from graduate school, $14, debit card, olive garden gift card, engagement picture/wedding picture/picture of baby girl! I just cleaned out my wallet… I usually have tons of change and receipts but my clean out really for rid of a lot of junk! It feels so good to have it all cleaned out and organized!

My wallet has more than I need in it – credit/debit cards, library card, business cards, store loyalty cards, prayer cards, bandages, a nail file, receipts and more receipts.   Even though I clean it out on a regular basis it still seems to have way too much stuff in it and never enough cash : )

I have way too much in my wallet at the moment… credit and debit cards, cash, drivers license, insurance cards, gift cards, Anthro card, Sephora card, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden membership card, blood donor card, CVS card, Karma Cream (a local organic/fair trade/vegan ice cream, dessert, tea, and coffee shop) punch cards, business cards, receipts, and a lot of fortune cookie fortunes that have made me smile, reminded me of something, or made me laugh. Some of the best ones were probably: “You are eager to share yourself and your possessions,” “The saints are the sinners who keep on trying,” “Get your mind set… confidence will lead you on to success,” and “You are not illiterate.” That last one makes me laugh every time I read it!

    Susan F says:

I have WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much in my wallet right now and thanks for the reminder to go through it and throw away all expired coupons and receipts I have no need for.  I also don’t need so many credit cards and my plastic ‘rewards’ card- entering my phone # works just fine.  I intend to get my wallet down to:  drivers license, 2 major credit cards, AAA card, health insurance card, 1 blank check (just in case) – and cash – my dad always taught me to hide a $20 behind my drivers license and forget it’s there, just in case….

    Jennifer says:

The most interesting thing in my wallet is a blank check signed by my boss. He gave it to me over a year ago to help me with last minute home buying costs. I should get rid of it, because if it gets lost or stolen, I’m screwed. But it makes me smile to know that someone entrusted me with so much and wanted to see my dream house become a reality.

  32. 32
    TLBR says:

The kitchen sink……way too many loyalty cards, license, two library cards (including my son’s which has his scribbled signature from the age of three), AAA card, medical cards, debit card, credit card, children’s police id cards, milk card, bandaid, two Advil, safety pin, hidden birthday money that MIL gave me to spend on myself last year, watch battery(?), three coins of every denomination, stick of gum, and a “Get out of jail free” card (hope I never use it).  Um, think I need a smaller wallet.  And don’t even ask what’s in my purse!

Driver’s license, $25 of cash, 1 credit card, 1 debit card. Library card. 5 giftcards that I should use (two are for Forever 21, one is more Starbucks, another for Barnes&Noble, and one for a local sandwich shop). 3 old receipts (one is from buying gas). My healthcare card. An old receipt that I can use as a giftcard at an expensive clothing store (I rarely shop there which is why I’ve saved it for so long).

I have forever used a little “pouch” as a wallet – one side has license, work ID, T pass, 2 CCs, health insurance card, frequent byer cards and cash. The other side includes floss, a small jump drive, tweezers, bandaids, eye drops, hair tie, powder sheets to take oil off my face, aleve. I’m now feeling really old fashioned.

I love the The Dave in turquoise, what a great color!  In my wallet you would find my metrocard for the subway,  punch card for my local coffee shop, the kids health insurance cards, my debit card and ID.  I try to keep things to a minimum after years of stuffing in every business card, credit card, and coupon I had.  Now I just add them in if I know I’ll need it on that day, makes life so much simpler when I dont’ have to search through 20 plus cards to find what I’m looking for!
