2013 is all about intention. It’s about putting ourselves out there and becoming the versions of ourselves we are supposed to be: the best ones. Any journey toward self-improvement begins with looking in our hearts and honoring what we find. It propels forward when we pursue our dreams, when we believe in ourselves, when we strive. It also doesn’t hurt to surround yourself with people who inspire you. People who are using their intention wisely.

Sara Horne has been an artist all of her life. While working in retail, she became inspired to create her own jewelry and the Sara Horne Jewelry line grew from there. Each piece is a reflection of her current inspirations and change is an ever present constant. As with any great artist, growth and experience flavor the end result and we, dear readers, are the lucky recipients. This necklace from the Indigo
Collection is simply beautiful and adds just the right touch of earthiness to any outfit. I am also head over heels for the Blackout Collection (particularly this one) and am pretty sure I just figured out my intention for 2013: inspiration.

Sara Horne Jewelry is giving away one Feather Necklace (pictured above) to one lucky reader! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Thursday, January 17th. Comments now closed…good luck!
Please visit Sara Horne Jewelry and tell us your favorite piece. Then answer this: What word best describes your intention for 2013?

My word this year is acceptance. 2013 is going to be full of changes and I’m not going to lie, change scares the crap out of me! So I’m focusing on acceptance of change. If it’s going to happen, I might as well embrace it right!?

My word for this year is Aspire, because this year I will aspire to be a better person and start living the life that I want to live.  I have a fortune taped in my journal that reads “some people dream of worthy achievements, while others stay awake and do them”. my word for 2012 is “grace.” i’ve realized that i’ve been living my life a little too gracelessly for a while now. physically, emotionally and responsively. i intend to work on that this year, smoothing over my rough edges, and helping others move through this world a little more gracefully.

and i’ve got so many words for 2013 but i would choose JOY: being joyful is something that we can achieve by our own choice. i feel i haven’t been trying hard enough to see the good and positive side of everything (at the ripe old age of 20! oh dear) and this year i want to be happy because i know i can if i only choose to 🙂

Favorite piece: Indigo collection, medallion coin necklace

Word of 2013: serenity – my new life in a new city with a new job is entirely way too stressful for one individual. but, i must find serenity in the little things in life: a dandelion growing out of the crack in the sidewalk, that really upbeat song that comes right during the worst of a workout, or an inspirational quote that sticks with you all day long. finding serenity makes those challenging portions that much easier to tackle.

“Presence” That is my word for 2013. As a healer and mystic I was drawn to the Tribal collection, especially image 6, with the dangling pieces. To be fully aware and grounded one must have stability as well as movement…this piece seems quite perfect for manifesting that presence.

Love the indigo beads!!!! My word for 2013 is “light”. I lost my grandmother in 2012 and looking back at the type of women that I saw her as I want to be just like her. She lived life with such a light-hearted love. She never met a person who didn’t become her friend, she never worried about what others thought of her, the laughed freely and the loved everyone who had a kind word and an open heart. I want to live her lightness. Her fire and her love.
