There are days when I think my job here at the BSP is to introduce you wonderful readers to artists and brands we love and that is simply the end of it. There are also days when my view of beauty and inspiration is shaken to the core and I have fresh eyes, wide open in wonder. Today is one of those days, friends. What perfect timing, considering our theme this month is “The Art of Beauty.”

Sara Reynolds creates the type of jewelry and home decor that I think exists in a parallel universe. Because she is clearly designing for me and me alone, right? Oh, friends. That is the beauty of art, the art of beauty. Sara Reynolds Jewelry is handcrafted, impeccably designed and speaks to volumes of individuals, not just me. That is the mark of a true artist, don’t you think? Someone whose art speaks across boundaries, both real and imagined. First off, this Brass and Copper Pyrite Ring feels as though it was specifically designed with me in mind and I have to be honest and tell you that this Agate Lacquered Box and just taken the number 1 spot on my wish list (not joking in the slightest.) Do yourself a favor: honor beauty and visit Sara Reynolds Jewelry. Your life will be happier for it.

This morning I woke up tired and desperate for more sleep (a common occurrence with my newborn), but I had two boys jumping on me ready to start the day, so I rolled out of bed and started the day. They always inspired me. We’re homeschooling this year (nerds!), so I feel the onus of their education keenly. But sometimes I feel overwhelmed. Last night, it was my husband’s turn to say our nightly prayer and he prayed that I would have patience with my boys (all 3 of them), and that we would find joy together during the day. That thought has come back and inspired me all day. To let go of the things that don’t matter and revel in this time I have with them and, together, seek joy.

While nursing my son in bed this morning, I spotted the sun shining outside and was eager to take advantage of the weather to take a few product shots for my shop, knowing that the forecast called for clouds much of this week. Since the area I planned to shoot in is only bright enough for a short time in the morning, I was eager to get at it. While mentally running through the list of materials I’d need, I noticed my 4 month old’s hand warm on my arm. It’s like he was saying “hey, be with me right now in this moment.” I stopped my planning and just enjoyed snuggling his little body instead, patting his peach-fuzz head and watching his contented face.
