{website ::Etsy ::  Facebook}

There are days when I think my job here at the BSP is to introduce you wonderful readers to artists and brands we love and that is simply the end of it. There are also days when my view of beauty and inspiration is shaken to the core and I have fresh eyes, wide open in wonder. Today is one of those days, friends. What perfect timing, considering our theme this month is “The Art of Beauty.”

Sara Reynolds creates the type of jewelry and home decor that I think exists in a parallel universe. Because she is clearly designing for me and me alone, right? Oh, friends. That is the beauty of art, the art of beauty. Sara Reynolds Jewelry is handcrafted, impeccably designed and speaks to volumes of individuals, not just me. That is the mark of a true artist, don’t you think? Someone whose art speaks across boundaries, both real and imagined. First off, this Brass and Copper Pyrite Ring feels as though it was specifically designed with me in mind and I have to be honest and tell you that this Agate Lacquered Box and just taken the number 1 spot on my wish list (not joking in the slightest.) Do yourself a favor: honor beauty and visit Sara Reynolds Jewelry. Your life will be happier for it.

    My husband and I just returned from an all-American road trip to the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Denver and Vail. Then I got laid off. Since I have some free time on my hands, this morning i was cleaning out my travel bag and found 4 rocks I’d collected along the journey: one purple, one pink, one Amber and one ombré quartz… I had forgotten that I’d pocketed them, and seeing them again really brightened my day! I love the way they feel and how the colors and striations look different each time I study them. They’re a great reminder of the places I’ve been and of how amazingly breathtaking nature can be. Best way to wake up: grateful. 🙂

    I’m a single mom, and I sleep with my 5 year old daughter.  (We only have one bedroom), so every morning starts the same:  I wake up and see her beautiful sleeping face.  I sometimes feel very sorry for people who don’t have something so pure and strong and meaningful to wake up to.

    my inspiration this morning was actually comfort. i’ve had a cold and i didn’t want to go to work, but i knew that i had to. my cat, who is normally not very cuddly, climbed up in bed next to me and snuggled with me. i figured if she could overcome her disgust of being cuddled, i could get my rear out of bed and make it to work. sentimental and awe-inspiring? nope. but it got me going.

    I was staying at my parent’s house while my apartment is being painted and my mother left for work in a whirlwind this morning before I woke up. The lingering smell of her perfume at the bathroom vanity wafted through the steamy shower air. My mother never wears a stitch of make-up and her clothing style is quite utilitarian – but every day, without fail she sprays a lovely perfume; she has always marched to her own drum, never waivering. Just the faint scent of her perfume inspires me to be my own person and not conform to whatever “norm” may be.

    The sound of my thirteen year old getting into the shower and getting ready for school as I lay in bed–“just one more minute”. It inspired me to get a move on and made me feel so hopeful, because encouraging our sons to be self-motivated and self-sufficient is our primary goal in parenting!

    Today it was raining outside but ever since I started working for myself full time, I wake up happy 🙂 Today, my six year old son inspired me. He asked if I can read a book to him when he gets home from school. I didn’t know what book he was talking about but immediately said “yes”. His willingness to learn and desire to spend time with me inspired me this morning!

They inspire me not only to work as hard as possible, but to make sure I give them the best life possible whatever it takes. My family inspires me every day to get up and live and work hard! I woke up this morning to a lovely email from my former training supervisor. We both now work at new agencies and she was writing to say hello and check in. She always struck me as incredibly competent, so I was surprised to hear her say how much she doesn’t know in her new position. It was a good reminder that we all, despite our years of work, must continue to challenge ourselves in order to grow. It inspired me to see today as an opportunity to improve on my skills and learn something new.

    Not only today but just about everyday I wake up to remember that I have an amazing fiancee of seven years who has a ten year old son who is just as much apart of me and my family, no matter whom his true Mother is, I will never try and replace or break up the true bond of a mother and son but In the last seven years he has taught me that there are more important things in life, then myself.  I am inspired by him daily to be a better person.  The day he reffered to me as his step mom reminded me that I am doing a good job, and I will continue to be there for him no matter the out come.

    What inspired me at 3:30 this morning was that I had gone to the ER because I had something lodged in my ear (and the Dr found a cyst) and I turned on my radio to hear “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. I turned the volume all the way up and sang along. When I got home I slept knowing no matter what, I am going to be okay.

    I loved the question.  I would like to say it was my new puppy waking me up to go outside – but it wasn’t.  What inspired me first thing today was my son Tanner Hein.  sometimes, as a parent, we feel we have to keep repeating to our kids to do something.  Today i asked for his help with something and after i got done telling him about step 1 and going to check to make sure he did it – he had already guessed what else needed to be done and did so without asking – WHAT A BLESSING!

    I woke up to my little dog barking to be let inside. My husband had let her our before leaving for work. I stumbled to the door and when I opened it was greeted with the first crisp morning of the year. The air had a briskness to it that woke me up immediately and the overcast gray sky made me relax and get excited for my morning coffee. I adore this time of year, and coming inside to my plush blanket, a warm cup of coffee and a snuggle from my pups made the start of the day exquisite.

    My inspiration this morning was the fresh air. We have a new dog, so the moment I heard him stir, I jumped out of bed and whisked him outside to avoid an accident. Once I got outside, it was amazing. A beautiful cool morning (amidst this crazy heat we have been having!), sun just up, birds chirping and it felt so nice to just stop and breathe for a moment.

    The first thing that inspired me this morning was cake.  I promised a friend I would make her son a cake for his 2nd birthday today.  It was on my mind and the agenda first thing this morning (ok- after my coffee)!  A huge #2 was the request and I was happy to make it.  I haven’t worked as a professional pastry chef since before my daughter was born and haven’t decorated a cake in over a year.  I’m not going to lie, I was a little stressed trying to make it perfect, but I was also inspired.  Inspired to make the most delicious and special cake for a special boy. I hope it helped in creating a memorable day for him!

    Also, baking again stirs up lots of creativity and positive energy in me.  We moved to a new state this year and I am thinking about teaching a cake decorating or series of pastry classes!

    What inspired me this morning was my own damn self. I am gearing up to run my very first marathon in 3 weeks. I have continually impressed myself with my dedication, and by how much more I can do than I thought possible. So waking up this morning, while hard, was somewhat easier knowing I was lacing up my sneakers one day closer to being a marathoner.
