Everlasting Spring is upon us. friends. and that means only one thing: dresses. I don’t think I’m wrong here when I say that there is something about the perfect dress that means spring has sprung. ‘Tis the season to break out every dress you have sequestered away during those cold months and walk around open air markets and flower stalls with a wide brimmed hat and an armful of bangles. Problem is, a good dress isn’t as easy to come by as one might think. Specifically, I am constantly on the lookout for well made dresses that are designed with a woman’s real needs and wants in mind.

This is where Shabby Apple comes in. Shabby Apple is an online dress boutique that specializes in vintage and retro dresses. The aesthetic is one where femininity and strength merge with great design to accentuate the beauty in each of us. This Decadence dress is absolute perfection and I simply cannot imagine gliding through spring without this Highland Light number. For whatever reason, spring is the season where I dress myself up in my favorite clothes and head out to the nearest cafe to enjoy the first blooms of the season. Oh, and just for the record, those three dresses featured up there are on my wishlist for heading from spring into summer. From navy to stripes to red, it seems the perfect way to plan ahead while honoring our “Everlasting Spring”, don’t you think?

Shabby Apple is giving away one $50 gift certificate to one lucky winner!  *Open to US residents only!* Comments now closed…good luck!

I ADORE the Alice dress. I think its simply perfect, and of course it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, and all I can do is think of the first scene where she laying amongst the flowers, staring up at the sky as her little cat wanders around her. I would love to wear this dress, and do the same thing. (Expect I would trade the cat for Betty, my little boston terrier) 🙂

For me, the advent of Spring actually means All Skirts All the Time! I have never cared for how my legs look in shorts (and since I’m super-tall, a lot of shorts seem ridiculously tiny on me), so when it gets too warm for pants and jeans, I turn to a vast array of skirts in my closet. From full cotton skirts to skinny pencils, I’m in skirts all spring and summer long! I would love to add the Jetty, the Merry Go Round, and the Crosswalk skirts to my collection!

I could get so carried away creating a new Spring wardrobe at this shop!  I was just complaining to my husband this morning that I have lost my wardrobe in the last few years due to my (beautiful, but sometimes dirty!) children.  So looking at all of these beautiful (girly!!) dresses and skirts was so much fun, even if it was only virtual shopping.  🙂
Since I have mainly tee-shirts and jeans, I was drawn to the colorful and girly clothes.  But the ones I picked still look soft and comfortable, easy to wear as I play with my kids.  And of course, they are all light and bright for Spring:
    -Side Saddle dress (classic!)
-Desert Blossom dress (looks so comfy and yet fancy, too)
-California Sunset skirt (can’t resist the yellow)
-Sugar Cone top (a much more fashionable version of my usual, boring tee-shirts)
-Azira shoes (I would need some cooler shoes to match my newly updated wardrobe!)

Definitely the Little Susie Skirt. Polka dots are so cheery and bright just like Spring should be. I also like the Fisherman’s Find top. It seems light and soft, signs that the sun is shining and the air is warm.

The Soul mate dress from the Something Old, Something New collection is divine. So many of my winter clothes are black and grey, and this dress is the epitome of femininity, lightness, and grace. I’m now longing for floral patterns and pastels. My husband and I are now stationed at a tiny AF base in the middle of Oklahoma and there is no shopping for hundreds of miles (literally, sadly), so I’m excited to find an online shop with such gorgeous pieces.
