In a perfect world, dress shopping is a pain free, joyous experience full of standing ovations and champagne toasts. Truth is, in my humble opinion, shopping for dresses is generally disheartening and disrespectful to healthy self-esteem. It seems “style” translates into less and less fabric these days and since I don’t quite look like a runway mannequin, I find it hard to find stylish clothes that make me feel beautiful. It’s near impossible to have “The Good Life” when you wear clothes that don’t make you feel, well…good.
Ah, Shabby Apple, how I adore thee. You have filled this gaping niche in women’s fashion with stylish and affordable clothes designed by women, for women. These are the types of clothes you can wear from event to event and always look adorable and (dare I say it) appropriate. Knowing there is a one-stop shop for quality dresses does wonders for the feminine side of my good life, let me tell you. Do you want to see what my version of ”The Good Life” looks like? Check out the Headliner Dress, the Navy Lace Dress, and the Highland Light dress. While you’re at it, like Shabby Apple’s Facebook page here to stay updated with current sales and designs and news. Yep, ’tis a good life, indeed. (And Happy 4th of July to our stateside friends! Stay safe!)

I recently had a baby and I can’t find many dresses I can wear to nurse him in. However, I have also lost a lot of weight and really want to go out with my husband after the kids are in bed. It’s our anniversary in a few weeks and I know that I would feel awesome in the mariposa green dress with the petals on the neck line. I’m self conscious about my chest and this one looks modest and feminine without being dowdy. We would go on a walk by the building we got married at and then have a few drinks downtown.
Lovely. I teach special Ed preschool I’m a public school so sometimes it is hard to find clothes that are professional and I can move around in. Therefore I love the paradise sunshine! I love bright colors that flatter!!!
I love all of them, but choosing just one, I’d get: the Ingrid. I’d wear it on a date with my husband. We a new tiny puppy at home, so there haven’t been many dates recently. I think that one would really knock his socks off!
I’d buy the Panorama Purple Blouse and wear it to my job, teaching art!! I love that shade of purple.
I love the Fifth Avenue dress and I would wear it on a date night with my husband!
LOVE the Beachcomber and Elizabeth Island dresses…simple, classy and comfy. i’d wear them…oh every day, and dress them up to go on a date with the hubby in the evenings.
i agree, hemlines are becoming higher and higher and buying dresses that are modest yet pretty is becoming really difficult where i live (i’m taller than the average girl here in Singapore and most “standard” dresses end mid thigh or just below my bum).
my only dress shrank in the wash and threatens indecent exposure when i wear it out on a windy day, so i’d love to get something like the one for my baby dress or the red queen – a dress with a swishy skirt that’s perfect for running about campus decently!
i’d probably buy the El Dorado dress and wear the hell out of it everywhere!
I would buy the Elizabeth Islands or the Headliner, and I’d wear them everywhere. Double points for being machine washable.
I’d get the Roma dress and wear it everywhere! I’m mostly out about town running errands with my daughter and this dress is perfect to beat the heat we have has of late. I’d also love to dress is up with a snappy belt and some fun wedges or espadrilles.
I’d get the 2300 AND 38 INCHES dress! How cute would that be for both work and date night?!
I’ll get the cheryl belt just perfect on any jeans
I love the Metropolitan Blouse and the Gold Fill wire wrapped Swarovski crystal earrings! Beautiful!! I would wear both and my own ivory skirt to my cousin’s rehearsal dinner before her August wedding :)
I love their serenade dress and I’d wear it everywhere! Especially around the house. As a stay at home mom, it’s too easy to let things slide, but a dress like this instantly makes you feel put together…
I’m in love with the tea time dress. love the color and the vintage feel
Without a doubt I would buy a maternity dress. My husband and I are very shortly going to be trying to conceive our second baby. With our first, I didn’t have ANY clothes that I felt beautiful in and it affected my confidence. If I had a nice and versatile dress like “Aphrodite” I would wear it at least once a week. To doctors appointments, date with the husband, story time at the library with my toddler….everywhere! It seems like you could dress it up or down with accessories according to the situation. The perfect maternity dress!
HIGHLAND LIGHT for sure!!!
I’ve got a curvy figure; especially after having my daughter. It looks very flattering and perfect for our (NZ) upcoming Summer.
I’d wear it any time the sun was out- it looks like the perfect length for me not to have to wear leggings underneath. I hate my legs so cover them in leggings.. pretty much every day.
Love it!!
I’m about to start my freshmen year of college and am looking for some hot weather dresses. The Tulleries dress is super cute and would perfectly. I would totally wear it at college.:)
They have so many great dresses and I love how nicely they fit and wash. I love the Ingrid dress and their work out apparel is pretty nice too!
I would get that pair of Zen flats and wear it wherever I go.
I have loved Shabby Apple’s beautiful dresses since I first discovered them through blogland. We don’t get many stores (here in India) selling such a variety of designs and patterns that fit the curvy woman and I would love to own a dress that I could wear often and to most places!

I have been on the hunt for an orange skirt. The Burnt Orange Scholar Skirt is perfect! Love the high waist!
I’m in love with the highland light and I would wear it to a BBQ!
I would get the ferry t and the Francine skirt. I love high waisted pencil skirts! They would be my weight loss goal and when I made It I would wear them out on a (healthy) dinner date with my hubby! Thanks!
I would get the Malt Shop and I would wear it on a date or out to dinner with the girls!
Oh, wow. I’d probably get the Beauty Mark dress (pleats!), as I think it’s the first lovely thing from Shabby Apple I pinned on my Pinterest style board. So, yeah, I think I’ve been lusting after that dress for awhile. And I’d wear it everywhere.
Also, more specifically, I’d wear it for my “A Dress for Tess” post (see the project here: https://www.facebook.com/ADressForTess ).
I would buy the Ski Bop dress to wear at my best friends wedding!
I would buy the Beachcomber dress and wear it to a summer pool party.
I’ve been in love with the Pina Colada dress for awhile so that would have to be it for me! So summery, so comfy looking but fresh and modest. Love it! We have several BBQ’s coming up this summer and I might wear it to every single one! hee hee
I’d order the Overboard dress and wear it teaching!
The A+ for sure! That is a dress you can wear just about anywhere for any occasion. I have a pink cropped blazer in my closet that is screaming to be paired with it for work and a pair of warp around well-worn Moroccan sandals for a day walking through the best sites my beautiful Baltimore has to offer!
I’d love to wear the Oh, Baby! maternity dress to our upcoming shower. The swiss dot fabric is so feminine and sweet. Thanks for a chance at it! <3
I’d get the Academia dress and wear it out to dinner! Thanks!
I would wear the Navy Lace dress pretty much everyday, its the perfect dress to go to work then a night out with friends or pretty much everything that comes your way
I’d get the Crescent Moon swimsuit and wear it on my much-needed graduation/anniversary trip with my husband (we both just graduated). After that, every week to the local swim park with my daughter.
So this may sound a bit morbid, but it’s actually a positive thing… I’d totally use the Ingrid as my “funeral dress”. Every girl needs a dress you can count on for situations like a funeral. I remember when my brother-in-law passed away that everyone was scrambling for something to wear. This would solve the problem, beautifully. Thanks!!
I’d get the “walk the plank” dress. I think I would just wear it some day when I needed cheering up or wanted to feel pretty, not for any special occasion.
I love the Highland Light stripe dress! It would be perfect for boat rides to the Eastern Shore!
I’d get the gold bangle set and wear it everywhere.
This dress, I would wear it everywhere I could!

I am back to prepregnancy weight and would love to feel fresh and lovely. I love the navy lace I’m Late I’m Late dress. Sooo beautiful. I would love to take it for a night out with the hubby!
I’d buy the El Dorado dress and wear it everywhere!! This dress can be dressed up or down, love it!!
I really really love the Elizabeth Islands maxi dress and Yummy Peach earrings! I would surprise my sister with those for her 25th birthday next month. She’s been trying to dress older and accessorize more (so she doesn’t get mistaken for a high schooler anymore)… and I think those would do the trick! They fit her style perfectly too =)
Love way too many of them!!! I would pick the Bijou dress and wear it for a girls night out : )
The Alice dress from the Mad Hatter collection! While I probably would wearing everywhere I’d probably wear it best at our regular Sunday/Sinday Tea Parties.
I would for sure buy one of the gorgeous dresses with a flare skirt. I just started a new job and I would love the feel of it as it whisks around my legs at work.
I’d love the new Blue Eyes dress. The polka dots and vintage styling are just to die for!
I think it’d be great to wear to work, and then switch out the accessories for some bright red wedges and glam jewelry for a night out with the girls!!! Thanks so much!
