The Brightside Project LoveBag giveaway (1)

{shop :: Facebook :: Twitter :: Instagram}

We can’t very well focus on “Balance” for the month of May and not address the issue of beauty. If you’re anything like me, you strive to find better, more natural beauty products but you don’t want to sacrifice the beauty in the process. One of the greatest areas where I find myself torn is nail care. I love nail polish. I really do. Truth be told, manicures and pedicures at the top of my personal luxury list. Having my nails done makes me feel pampered and tended to. It soothes my heart and well tended nails make me just plain feel good about myself. The problem was finding a brand that fulfilled my desire to look good and feel good about doing it.

Debbie Leavitt created Sheswai Lacquer out of this very need. Leavitt is a well respected nail stylist in the fashion industry and her quest to live a healthy lifestyle drove her to create her own line. Sheswai Lacquer is 5-free, meaning free from formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP’s. Also, Leavitt is the first to use a wood cap on the bottles, reducing the use of plastic. Sheswai Lacquer offers bright, vibrant, and bold colors with a business philosophy you can stand behind. Not only will you look good, you will feel good. That is balance, my friends.

Sheswai Lacquer is giving away one The Bright Side inspired LoveBag filled with 3 shades ( babe, good vibes, stoked) to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Thursday, May 22nd.
Please visit Sheswai Lacquer and tell us: What is the one beauty product you can’t live without?
Start checking the winner’s box on Tuesday, May 27th, to see if you’ve won!

    Moisturizer.  There are many days I go makeup free and a good facial moisturizer is a must have for glowing, healthy skin.  I like to use a carrier oil, like coconut, jojoba, or sweet almond, with a blend of rosehip, vitamin E, and tamanu oils.

    Okay- I swear I’m not just saying this to win- but the one beauty product I can’t live without is nail polish! I don’t actually wear any make-up and don’t even like to have my fingernails polished. But I LOVE to always have my toenails polished. Even if I have shoes on it makes me happy to know that there is something sparkling and bright on me at all times!

    I love ALL beauty products for how they make me look and feel, but lip balm is my ABSOLUTE  “must have”. SPF protects my lip (and sometimes my nose and the backs of my hands) from sun damage, pure organic balm is also good for moisturizing around the eyes at bedtime and a chapped nose during flu season, smoothing a little untinted lip balm over the curve of my eyebrows leaves them beautifully glossy and smooth.  Love the stuff (but it’s not nearly as FUN as nail polish)!

    I use coconut oil for everything and seem to be able to find more and more uses for it in iur daily lives! Being a busy mama and teacher, I like to use products that are easy to use and won’t harm me, my little one, or my students!

    For as long as I can remember, I have had dark circles under my eyes (it didn’t just come with motherhood), so a touch of concealer under my eyes prevents me from the worried questions of others as to my state of health and sleepiness. (Nope, I’m not sick or sleep deprived or beat up…promise cross my heart). Other than that, I just love beauty products. I’m a junkie. (Hit me with some of that coconut oil lotion! Ah yeah, that’s good!)

    I’m not very knowledgable about “products” in the traditional sense, but I will say this:  I can’t live without water as a source of beauty.  It helps my skin.  It helps my lips.  It helps my hair.  It also helps the inside of me to work better and to think beautiful things.  🙂

    Emma L says:

    (There IS a god. I have been looking at these nail polishes for the past two weeks in my search for less toxic beauty products, and here they are on BSP? It is the magic of the world, I know it.)

    I am trying to create a new, healthier beauty regimen after being scared by the prevalence of toxins in beauty products but I have not yet established a working routine. It is so hard to find good, healthy, sustainably produced products! Currently I am only using coconut oil, which is working well for skin and hair, but ultimately I would like to find some products that allow me to pamper myself in the same way I used to do, in my toxin-ridden former life.

    Moisturizer.  My skin gets so dry and scaly.  Moisturizers help to hydrate my skin.  I pretty much use it everyday.
