{please visit Sol del Sur here}

These are the days of long days, warm nights, celebrations that linger. These are the days we respect the sun, honor the shade, and bare our arms. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that the days of summer seem to be marked by the amount of time my long sleeves stay hibernating in the closet. Suffice it to say, my stash of adornments lives a full life in the summer season. After all, there is nothing that accents sun-kissed skin more than the perfectly designed piece of jewelry.

Soledad Proano creates wearable sunshine with her brand, Sol del Sur. Marrying form and function with a signature perspective, Proano’s pieces blend seemingly incongruous textiles and textures in such a way that you feel you understand the science of nature a bit more. The Braided Wrap Bracelet blends intricate craftsmanship with a chic, bohemian simplicity while the Brass and Fiber Braided Wrap Bracelet speaks of the balance between hard and soft elements and the ways in which we wear them. This season, you can wear your balance on your sun-kissed skin from dawn til dusk. These are the celebrations that linger.

    Sort of a bit like the chicken and the egg question isn’t it… haha.

    I like both. Sunsets because then you can go to bed smiling; and it’s the end of the day. Sunrises because you can go to work smiling and it’s the start of the day!

    Sunsets! Sunrises are beautiful too, but I just happen to catch sunsets more often 🙂

    I would say I’m a sunset person because I’m not an early riser. But a few years ago, I was at my childhood cabin near a lake and I got up very early (by accident, of course). The sun was rising and there was fog over the lake. It was all pink and magical. It made me think I should get up early like that every day. I quickly forgot that crazy getting-up-early idea, but kept the wonderful memory of that beautiful sunrise.

    I am for sure a sunset person! I find them beautiful and inspiring with the bright wash of color fading from orange to purple. Although, I do get angry at myself when I sleep through sunrise entirely…it’s a beautiful time of day for photography!

    Sunset for sure, especially in the summer. One of my favorite “simple” things is enjoying dinner and drinks with friends and family in the backyard on a warm summer evening.

    Lindsay says:

    I can only manage to be a sunrise person if I’ve not gone to sleep  yet! I love the gorgeous tones of a sunrise, the fresh feeling of the day, and the solitude, but I rarely manage to be up to take it all in.

    I suppose, by virtue of my sleeping habits, that I must be a sunset person. It’s gorgeous, but you have to share it with the world, rather than keeping it all to yourself, like the sunrise!

  31. 31
    Sarah says:

    Sunrise for sure

  32. 32

    I’m a night owl, so I rarely see the sunrise! However, if I do see the sunrise, it’s exciting because it usually means I’m going on a trip or doing something special. So sunrises are always kind of magical to me. 🙂

  43. 43
    echo says:

    I see more sunsets and love the drama of them, but it is something special to be awake for a sunset… the day starts so calmly and seems to stretch forever.
