Am I the only person out there who thinks that there is something magical about jewelry? While I go through phases where I leave my jewelry resting at home, I also have pieces that I keep around and bring out when I just need that extra little something to make me feel a bit more like myself. The adornments we choose say a lot about how we see ourselves, don’t you think? (Today I’m wearing my five year old daughter’s bangles so that is saying something.)

Yueh-Wen Chang of Sora Designs creates the kinds of pieces you reach for when you want to feel like the best version of yourself possible. Chang changed her life and left her day job as a senior research analyst working at the Judicial Council of California and pursued her creativity and her change is our reward. Sora Designs is full of one of a kind pieces that complement every mood (and outfit) you leave the house with. I am currently in love with the Personalized Map Necklace as well as the XOXO Kiss Hugs Necklace and the Monogram Necklace. I’m not sure what this is saying about me specifically other than I am in love with Sora Designs.

Sora Designs is giving away one Blush Pink Rose Necklace to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Wednesday, November 6th. Giveaway now closed…good luck!
Please visit Sora Designs and tell us:  What do the adornment you are wearing right this very moment say about you?
Start checking the winner’s box on Monday, November 11th, to see if you’ve won!

I’m wearing a black elastic headband which doesnt say much. I’m a very simple girl and I’m loving the August birthstone necklace(hint hint), the silver infinity bracelet, and the square statement necklace.

I’m wearing a ten-strand red beaded necklace from Ecuador, a country where I have lived for 15 months. I hope it’s projecting a little bit of my Ecuadorian-ness, because I feel that I’m at least 10% Ecuadorian in culture at this point. 🙂

The only adornment I am wearing today is my wedding band. I think this honestly says that I am busy gal and was rushed getting ready today and didn’t have the time to really put it all together 🙂

My dark blue sapphire wedding ring, layered above a ruby & diamond anniversary band–says that I’m colorful and sentimental (ruby & diamond are my two sons’ birth stones) and putting things together that please me even if they weren’t “meant” to be together.  I have also four earrings in my left ear and three in my right, a pair of silver hoops, a pair of aquamarine colored sapphire studs from my grandmother, three small diamond studs –they say I’m a little edgy and also a little sweet.  I love how jewelry is about enhancing prettiness and also expressing personality!

I am wearing a necklace of 4 “European style beads” that I bought from an Etsy shop. I only paid for the beads, and bought some silver chain and jump rings to create the actual necklace part. What that says about me is that I prefer to gather the pieces, and then put something together to either improve or just making something for myself! I loved the beads, and it was pretty easy to create the necklace. Plus I can switch the beads around or combine it with other “European style” beads.

I wear peach colored rose stud earrings. I think they bring out my inner sentimental sweetness as well as a bit of fanciness. They often remind me of a romantic date in a rose garden.

I’m wearing a necklace with a bird pendant.  I love birds and anything that has to do with nature!

At this moment my only piece of daily adornment is my bubbles wedding ring. I love it to pieces because it is a very non traditional ring. On the occasion that my 4 year old will not be in tow, a simple silver hoop is worn with excitement.

The only adornment I am wearing today is my Marc Jacobs gunmetal and rose gold watch.  It’s actually a men’s watch, but I completely fell in love with it when I first laid eyes on it.  Its like me in that it’s useful, yet simple with a hint of flash and class! 🙂

My current adornment is a small, plain sterling ring with “fideo” inscribed on it in tiny letters. “Fideo” is Latin for “I believe” or “I trust,” and I got the ring from a craftsman in my area when I started graduate school (and was learning Latin). It reminds me to trust in many things–myself, other people, my capabilities, the better sides of humanity, and that things will all turn out ok.

i used to swap out my accessories everyday: huge silver hoops, shoulder-dusting earrings etc, but in the last few years i’ve been paring down what i wear to simpler pieces that are classic and elegant, yet still me. i’m currently wearing a plain white gold cross pendant with a tiny diamond set right in the middle of it. my parents just gave it to me for my 21st birthday, and it’s fast become The piece that i put on everyday. it’s very precious because it’s an outward declaration of my faith, which is really the foundation of how i live my life, the very essence of me.

What a fun Etsy shop! I’m especially loving your honeycomb necklace! The two accessories I’m wearing right now are 1) my turquoise-framed glasses, which I wear almost everyday (I pull out my old specs if I’m just not feeling the turquoise, which is hardly ever!) and 2) a headband that I picked up at Renegade art fair in Chicago. It’s turquoise (surprise) and white checked with petals of the same fabric coming down one side. It’s not the accessories that say something about me per se, I think it’s what I pair them with. I am wearing a tee with navy and white stripes on the front and a red/pink/blue floral flowy fabric for its back and also on the front pocket. You wouldn’t think that goes with a turquoise/white checked petal-y headband, but somehow it works! My accessory style says: have fun with fashion and with color and with life!

    Jennifer says:

My adornments say: 1) I’m married, 2) to a man that has enough creativity and style to get me an unusual engagement ring, 3) that my rings make enough of a statement that I don’t need to wear any other jewelry.

I am wearing two sterling silver rings – both gifts from best friends. They are simple and clean, but hold precious memories and significance for me.

I’m wearing a small silver ring with a wood centerpiece. I love jewelry that reminds me of nature. I feel it keeps me grounded, especially when I have to be indoors for hours at a stretch. I love to be outdoors and I find endless inspiration and rejuvenation from the bountiful wellspring of nature.

That I’m sentimental.  I’m wearing what I’ve worn nearly every day since the items were given to me.
A simple sterling silver ring with the inscription “don’t forget”.  Given to me by my boyfriend of one year on high school graduation day as a reminder to never forget that I am beautiful and can do great things.
A Koru necklace. Given to me a year later by the same boyfriend.  A symbol of eternity, new life and growth.
A wedding ring. From that same boy, given 5 years after the first ring.
I am lucky to have found my sweetheart so young in life and I love these items that remind me of things to be grateful for.

I am currently wearing a very small and simple necklace  – it says my children love me. IT is a small reminder that being a mom has many blessings.

    Tiffany says:

That I am a sentimental old soul. I have in tiny diamond earrings (birthstone) that my dad gave me when I was 10. I have only taken them off to clean them, that’s 22 years I’ve worn the same earrings!! I am also wearing my engagement ring, wedding band and a ring my friend gave me from her mothers estate. All of them are vintage (1920’s) with beautiful hand crafted details and all of them remind me of the loved ones who gifted them to me.

    Anne H says:

I am sentimental as shown by my wedding engagement and anniversary rings, as well as my tenth anniversary earrings, which I rarely replace, but I do enjoy finishing a regular outfit with an elegant tough like my multiple strands of pearls with my plaid shirt.

I am wearing my watch. The band is 4 strands of beads that I created. It’s a constant reminder and expression of my creative self.
Roses are my personal emblem, especially since one of my names is Rose.

Currently, I have three simple silver stacking rings that I love.  Two are thin bubble rings and one vine ring in the middle.  I like the simplicity of the bubble rings and vine in between them.  Simply beautiful.
