{please visit Ten Things Jewelry here}

This post goes out to all of the homebodies out there. The ones who prefer a night in rather than a night on the town. The ones who think that a day spent at home, with the freedom to do as you choose is one of the greatest luxuries of adult life. As far as I’m concerned, I could spend an entire week in the cocoon of my own home and emerge a fully formed butterfly. Perhaps one of the reasons it doesn’t feel so stifling these days is the fact that we have the world at our fingertips. With Instagram, Pinterest, and the world of blogging at our fingertips, it is so easy to travel the world visually without ever leaving your home. But here’s the trick: don’t stay in your pajamas too long. Get dressed. Put on makeup (if you wear it) and accessorize. Even if the furthest you physically travel is your kitchen, you will be amazed how much better you feel if you are ready for where the day takes you (metaphorically speaking.)

Ten Things Jewelry is exactly the kind of jewelry I wear when I want to feel the most at ease with myself. Kerri Jones creates fantastically chic jewelry that speaks of an ease and sophistication without feeling overworked. There is a simplicity inherent in each of her pieces that translates from jeans and tshirts to maxi dresses and pencil skirts. This Emma necklace is made for my perfect “travel” through my neglected bookshelf and this Te Amo bracelet seems like the perfect accompaniment to my journey through some Spanish flamenco guitar and a glass of wine. I don’t know about you, but sometimes my wanderlust just needs the right accessory.

    In India, thin cottons are the only thing you can wear without breaking into a sweat. My block-printed kurtas (tunics) and shorts/capris are my daily uniform. These days, however, my 3 yo has firm opinions on my “day clothes” and if I choose to humour him, you might find me in an outrageous combination of prints and patterns or nightwear mixed with day wear. To him, I look gorgeous. Luckily there are no street-style bloggers lurking outside my door! 🙂

    My brothers old, baggy, comfy sweats and tshirts. Although they are over a decade old, wearing them brings me flashbacks of cheering him on at high school football games.

    Sarah says:

    It sounds silly, but my mother’s old patterned silk shalwar kameez is probably the most comfortable outfit in the world. It’s a silk tree-bark brown with the sweetest gold toned flower pattern, and it’s basically a knee length top with huge baggy pants. everyone should try wearing these things seriously… soooooo comfy!! <333

    Danskin leggings, a long combed cotton tank top from the Gap (something about the combed cotton makes it amazing!), and a gray sweatshirt-like dolman sleeve cardigan.  and fleece socks.

    In the summer I love to wear a white linen dress (it was my mother’s dress when she was my age) with a crochet lace (I made it myself!) on the border. I like to wear it with white underwear. I feel comfy but feminine too 🙂
