Giveaway :: The Peacock Apothecary

{shop :: Facebook :: Twitter}

It’s time for a little truth telling. Until I had children, I wasn’t too conscious about what type of skincare I used. If it was affordable and smelled good, I was in. To be honest, I was also a sucker for packaging, no matter the ingredients. My daughter, however, changed my mind. She had sensitive skin as a baby and my research showed that the majority of the products on the market were, well…not good for the skin. I changed our consumption for the kids out of necessity, I changed it for the rest of us out of sheer knowledge. Easier said than done, though, right? Only if you don’t know where to go. Lucky for you, dear readers, we have a fabulous brand to introduce you to today that will sell you (literally and figuratively) on the merits of natural skincare.

The Peacock Apothecary, created by  Samantha Feld Samuelson and Caitlyn Montgomery, is a line of small batch, hand-crafted skincare based in Los Angeles. This is skincare with an expiration date, friends. Know why? Because it is missing all of those irritating preservatives. This is skincare with a conscious, a natural one. From face serums to body butter, The Peacock Apothecary has everything you need to nourish yourself from the outside. (We already know you’ve got the inside covered!) What better way to tell your body you are grateful for all of its hard work than by treating it well, don’t you think?

The Peacock Apothecary is giving away one $60 gift certificate to their shop to one lucky reader! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Wednesday, September 25th.
Please visit The Peacock Apothecary and tell us: How do you pamper yourself?

    By spending a random Saturday in soft luxurious pajamas with a big fluffy blanket, a chick flick, a glass of wine and snuggles from my puppies. It doesn’t matter what season it is or what time of day, as long as I can do those things I am very happy! Right now i’ve added a fall scented candle to the mix too!  (Although, I do have to have my house completely clean before I indulge…or I end up seeing bits of dust and wanting to clean!)

    It may not sound like pampering, but finding time to get outside and exercise is how I pamper myself. It drastically changes the way I feel about myself and the day and is the time I have to truly breathe, reset and reflect upon everything happening in my life.

    I have two kids, one is a baby, so it’s rare that I get to pamper myself these days. I did get a surprise pedicure last month though! My mom came to spend the day with me and the kids and she gave me money and said “go!” I felt really pampered that afternoon and really lucky. Thanks for the chance to win this generous giveaway.

    Pamper myself… Hmmmm… That’s a word I have not thought about in a while. I do get my hair done every so often, and it is a treat to have a nice shampoo and blow dry. I used to get pedicures all the time but with school, work, and a 4 year old I don’t have much time or extra cash for that. They will return to my life in due time. Until then ill enjoy my haircuts…

    OH ok i think i pamper myself by (very) occasionally treating myself to ice cream! good ice cream isn’t something i can afford very often, both on the wallet and on the waistline :p

    On a very rare occasion, in the still of the evening (my noisy little boys tucked safely in their beds) I read in an overlarge, overstuffed armchair in a warm glow of light until I fall asleep. Oh, it is delicious and like a rare bird that I see most often in my dreams!

    I pamper myself by trying new cheeses. My husband hates cheese (….I know!), so any cheese I purchase and bring into my home will be solely for me ALONE. Because awesome cheese is so pricey, I usually talk myself out of it, but every now and then I really treat myself to something tasty to savor. A ridiculously tasty piece of cheese and a glass of wine, nothing better!

    I pamper myself by snuggling with my two year old when he naps. I love being next to him in peace. I know he will grow up and I won’t be able to do that any more. I cherish our time now while I can still snuggle with him.

    How do I pamper myself? That’s a tough one, since I’m a full time college student. So I really don’t have the time for pampering. But when I do, I like to get together with my girl friends – sometimes we simply study for a test, but other times we paint each other’s nails, do each other’s hair, go out for the night, or if we are lucky, go shopping for the weekend!

    With a pesky 4-yr old underfoot, finding solo time for yourself is not easy. While getting ready for a bath, I pamper myself with a quick drying facemask made from fullers earth. By the time the water is the right temperature, the mask has smoothed and tightened just enough for my skin to feel good again. Works equally well for a quick scrub of hands and feet, too.

    Bubbles says:

    My pampering is two-fold——I enjoy getting my nails done. But more than that, I get more satisfaction in pampering my daughter – with 2 youngsters ages 5 and 2, there aren’t that many “ME” moments for her – so I get more joy out of letting her go to the store, or shopping while I stay with the kids, or for an occasional special treat, go to get a mani/pedi, all by herself. That to me is the best pampering. I should to do this for her more, I think, since I feel the need again.

    Well first, I have to schedule the time, because if I don’t it will never come. I consider running pampering. It’s like a legal drug really. And then before bed I pamper myself by lighting yummy smelling candles and reading.

    I wish I spent the time to pamper myself. Having two kids ,a hubbie,and working …my time is given to others..I know I need to find the balance and that has yet to be done. I do look forward to the day where I can take the time for me and not feel guilty that I should be doing for someone or something else.
