Giveaway :: The Pigment Project

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

There is nothing like a warm day to bring out the desire to feel beautiful, don’t you think? These are the days when I find myself seeking as many avenues as possible for expressing my style and creativity in order to truly appreciate summer. The easiest way to do this is with some accessories. From our tips to our toes, summertime is the perfect excuse to celebrate the artists we love by wearing them.

Jessica Smith and Jillian Eacock of The Pigment Project are artists who channel their creative energy into handcrafting gorgeous beaded jewelry that absolutely sings summer. Smith and Eacock have full time jobs and, like many artists, spend their free time fulfilling their passion. Their earrings are created on a loom and designed with heart and pure creative joy. I am particularly fond of these Chiminea earrings myself but browse The Pigment Project and see what strikes your fancy. These are the kinds of pieces you reach for when you want to feel your very best. What better way to honor the coming of the sun, yes?

The Pigment Project is giving away one pair of Turq Earrings to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Tuesday, June 17th.
Please visit The Pigment Project and tell us: What is something you absolutely love about yourself?
Start checking the winner’s box on Tuesday, June 24th, to see if you’ve won!

    I love that I’m tough and believe in my own strength!  I’ve lived all over the world (I’m now in Oregon), but growing up in Montana gave me a can-do attitude.  My dad still calls me a BMW – a Buff Montana Woman, even though I have a career. It’s all about attitude, I’ve come to think.

    My ability to make people happy without even realizing it is the one thing I love about myself. I’ve been told I have a very calming nature and infectious smile that makes people feel at ease when I’m around. What can I say – I’m just always generally happy and want to spread that happiness around!

    That I try really really hard to be inclusive. My husband is in the AirForce so people are pretty transitory in our lives, but wherever we are, and no matter how long we are going to know someone, even if it’s just for a week, I invite them over to our house for dinner and treat them like friends. It’s important to connect with people and share love and a good meal.

    On a side note…I love that you both love Montana. My dad grew up on a cattle ranch there and now my grandparents live up by Glacier. It is my favorite place in this world and I feel like it’s America’s best hidden gem. It fills me with peace, beauty and awe.

    So it’s an odd thing to think about, but I like the fact that I’m really expressive. My face always shows exactly what I’m thinking, which sometimes got me into trouble when I was little, but over my life I’ve learned that this gives me a certain unusual candor. When I listen to people, my face shows my reactions. People know that I’m listening, and I can’t help it. When I talk to people, my hands are waving around to some extent, and I really like telling stories. I especially love that on a regular basis in daily life, my expressiveness makes people laugh!

    I love that I’m not afraid to work. I got it from my hardworking dad for sure-  he was always working on the horse farm I grew up on and I didn’t really think anything of this until recently.

    i love that I am able to grant a wish to those hospice patients  that I work with..they usually have six months or less to live..and many want to see the ocean, mountains or go back to a special place that holds fond memories..just one last time. I try to make that happen for them.
