{please visit Threadbare Supply Co. here}

Here at the BSP, we are constantly trying to highlight the idea that living the life you always dreamed for yourself is a surefire way to secure the “Good Life.” By pursuing your passion, your creativity, you open yourself up to endless possibility and abundant success. Following your heart always pays off. Always. It is always an honor to highlight artisans who live this philosophy. Artists who have traded “successful” careers to follow their creative paths, to pursue their passions. There is nothing more inspiring, don’t you think?

Sara Lugo of Threadbare Supply Co. left her solid career in advertising to focus on something that made her happy: textile manipulation and metalsmithing. Learning these arts in Italy, Lugo made the fateful decision to quit her job and focus on turning her creative passion into a living. And we are the lucky recipients of her decision. The gorgeous pieces in her shop, Threadbare Supply Co., speak of an age-old tradition of pride in the making of fine art. The Oversized Gem Bracelet and Low Tide Necklace are two particularly stand out pieces, at least in my humble opinion. This is the type of work that is inspired. It is inspiring. It is the type of work you wear while living “The Good Life.”

Threadbare Supply Co.is giving away one Quartz and Dagger Necklace to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question by Monday, July 23rd. Comments now closed…good luck!

    My creative passion is all emcompassing. Sometimes I am inspired in photography, sometimes in graphics and often in home decor. The bigger question to me is what is my creative inspiration, because that often dictates the creative path I meander. The answer would hands down have to be nature and the seasons. In the spring I love to find creative passion from the clouds and grass and the vivid colors. In summer I love fresh berries in anything and find myself fascinated with aqua, yellow and fresh color schemes. In fall I love the feel of wind, the swirl of leaves and the brilliant reds, yellows and earth tones I am surrounded by. In winter I find myself loving texture and deep plums set off by ice blue. Whether it be photography, design, decor or culinary endeavors I constantly evolve through creative inspiration in my environment.

    Believe it or not, THIS WEBSITE is my creative outlet!! I work in the healthcare nonprofit field, so I spend a lot of time filling out paperwork and speaking with patients and healthcare providers. I LOVE my job and it is defintely rewarding, but filling out the same forms over and over again isn’t exactly exciting. I love coming to this site (probably more often than I should during work hours) and being inspired by all of the wonderful artists and the work that they do! I probably would never have come across most of the jewelry, art, etc. featured here if it wasn’t for this website. Sometimes its the little things that make every day worth it 🙂

    I can spend hours and even days making homemade cards for friends and family. For our one year anniversary, I actually pulled an all-nighter making a scrapbook/collage card for my boyfriend! Each card I make has a unique and personal design and I never use templates for cutting out letters.. which is probably why it takes me so long. While it may seem extreme that I spend so long creating just one card, I love being able to make someone’s day with something homemade.

    Although I would never start a card business because I am painfully slow, I would love to turn my passion into a side project by sending cards to strangers, like children in hospitals or deployed soldiers.
