{like West Coast Sea Glass on Facebook here}

Sitting on one of my shelves is a vintage Mason jar. Inside is a handful of sea glass collected along the coast in Southern California with my daughter. Those pieces of sea glass are not only beautiful; they symbolize my journey in seeking out beauty in the every day. Sea glass, in and of itself, is a perfect example of the marriage of environment, time, patience, and adventure. Each piece is a treasure from the sea, crafted over time and finding a piece at the edge of the sea is the kind of adventure that you remember forever.

Mary Beth Beuke has been a lifelong beachcomber, collecting sea glass of every color and shape. Mary Beth and the rest of the trained silversmiths at West Coast Sea Glass take their most rare and treasured pieces and turn them into jewelry. These pieces are simply gorgeous and bring the beauty of the ocean to your fingertips (or collarbone or wrist, as the case may be.) Whether you have the ability to comb the sand looking for your own treasures or not, West Coast Sea Glass can bring you the beauty. Every day.

West Coast Sea Glass is giving away one pair of Sea Glass Spiral Earrings to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question no later than Thursday, January 24th. Comments now closed…good luck!

This is genius.  I have to say, I haven’t had much experience, but I loved spending summer vacations on the beach in West Palm Beach in FL.

Rare, Golden Honey Oval ring please.

My favorite body of water would be the Mediterranean Sea. Not for the fact that it’s near the most beautiful countries in the world, but because every time I have entered its existence, I have lost something. My jacket flew overboard, my most precious ring slipped off while swimming, my bathing suit top just simply washed away. It’s now a joke that a part of me will always be in the Mediterranean Sea.

I love the Cobalt Blue with Clam Shell necklace…such a lovely shade of blue. My favorite body of water is the Pacific Ocean! Not the ENTIRE part of it but the areas that surround the islands of Hawaii, because they provide wonderful snorkeling, swimming, and beautiful coral reefs for fish to thrive in.

I love the English Sea Foam necklace. It’s the perfect sea color. I grew up on Massachusetts’s South Shore and I love the Atlantic Ocean there in Duxbury Bay. As a kid, my family and i would go out on Saturday mornings and dig for clams and catch Horse Shoe crabs. I loved to spend time walking along the shore looking for sea glass: the sweet flotsam the sea casts up. I love the look of sea glass, it seems to capture the feel of the ocean so perfectly, calm, smooth, and dark-hearted.

The Lime Wedge Pacific Oval Cuff bracelet is my favorite piece–though it was hard to pick!  Though I have lived on the west coast my entire life and have swam up and down baja and in Hawaiian waters, I love the Florida Gulf Coast the most.  It is so warm and buoyant that I feel like a mermaid when I swim there.  Plus, the amazingly blue skies and the dramatic white clouds are supernatural to me–especially watching lightening striking way out over the water from the safety of the shoreline.

I really like the “Rarest Rainbow of Colors” Glass Ball necklace; all things rainbow always draw me in. My favourite body of water is the Strait of Georgia, because it’s got the coolest views no matter where in it you are – all islands and waves and all the colours of blue!

i like the soft cornflower blue ring 🙂

as for bodies of water, singapore doesn’t really have impressive beaches… i would go with wineglass bay in tasmania which i just visited: we didn’t have the time to hike down to the beach (such a waste) so we went up to the lookout instead. and it was totally worth it! Most beautiful bay i’ve seen, with such clear waters and beautiful shades of blue. Nature is truly impressive 🙂

I love the Soft Cornflower Blue ring!
My favorite body of water is the Gulf of Mexico. I have the fondest memories of going to visit Port Arthur with my family as a kid. We would camp on the beach and wake up to the smell and sound of the ocean. It was magnificent! Alternately I loathe the Atlantic Ocean because it separates me from those I love!

The aqua tear drop ring is my favorite. As for my favorite body of water it has to be The Trent Canal system in Ontario we had a cottage on the system during my childhood and now we spend great family time with our daughters boating, tubing and waterskiing.
We are so lucky that at 19 and 16 they still want to spend their weekends with us.

I like the whimsical rare soft blue earrings…

Being from Miami I should probably talk about the ocean, blah blah blah, but no. I am recently enameled with Barton Springs in Austin, Texas. I have never been in there, but it is lovely to look at and I am excited about it! My kids can’t wait.

My favorite piece of jewelry from West Coast Sea Glass is
Bracelet in Blues. My favorite body of water would have to be the Atlantic Ocean, specifically at the Outer Banks, North Carolina. With a handicapped child it was very difficult to get away for family time. The few times we went were so precious to everyone. It was wonderful!

I love the cobalt blue cone earrings! My favorite body of water is the Pacific, especially around the Central Coast of California. I’m not much for getting IN the water, but I like to be on it and by it, and the Central Coast is where my husband and I took our honeymoon, so there are lots of fond memories associated with it!
