Giveaway :: Yellow Button Studio
{please visit Yellow Button Studio here}
Summer is most frequently associated with outdoor activities including water and mountains and sunshine and air. The longer days, warmer nights and all around sense of freedom that summer brings also invoke a desire to stay inside, to nest, to create. For me, summer walks hand in hand with honoring the artist within us and celebrating the beauty and art all around us. This is the season to do what we love, to find our passions. This is the season to celebrate the shade.
Jessie Schneider’s Yellow Button Studio is home to inspired, lighthearted pieces that speak to the very essence of summer. The prints are fun and whimsical and hold the ability to create pockets of cool shade in your home right where you need it. The Feathers print is especially cool, don’t you think? And Schneider’s embroidered pieces are stunningly unique. (I am absolutely in love with the Triangles Original.) Here comes the sun(shine) right into your home and Yellow Button Studio is the cool breeze.
Yellow Button Studio is giving one winner their choice of any two 8 x 10 / 8.5 x 11 prints from the shop! To enter to win, please answer the following question by Tuesday, July 3rd. Comments now closed….good luck!
What is your favorite summertime snack?

watermelon italian ice!
Oh goodness…it’s either ice cream or watermelon – I’m not sure I could choose just one or the other!
Pineapple & ICE CREAMMMM!!!
raspberries fresh from the bush. I can eat them by the bushel!
My favorite are blueberries. I swear I could just eat those all day and skip dinner. Yum!
The ‘cowboy salsa’ that I make, lots of fresh ingredients and if it has my own tomatoes in it, even better!
frozen strawberries!
any ice cream on a stick..the new Magnum bars are a favorite..
any stone (or other) summer fruit.
Watermelon! YUM!!
Frozen yogurt with all those wonderful toppings! I love enjoying it while sitting outside.
Fresh fruit & veggies from the produce stand – this week it’s bell peppers & star fruit.
I love eating fresh cherries out on our back porch. We just fixed it up so it’s really pleasant to hang out there in the evening, I like sitting with a bowl of cherries and my husband and talking about our day!
Frozen grapes! Especially eating them by the pool.
Popsicles!
Chips and salsa or my new fave..raspberries stuffed with white chocolate chips
Watermelon smoothies – so yummy and refreshing after a hot day at the beach or hike!
Love strawberries with sugar. My mom always has a bowl in her fridge. They just taste like summer to me!
Succotash salad is my favorite summer treat! Succotash is just a mixture of fresh summer veggies and herbs – my combo this week is corn, tomatoes, lime beans, and lots of basil covered with a lime olive oil dressing. YUM!
froyo!!!! my favorites right now are Pinkberry and Yogurtland
i can never get enough of summer fruits! raspberries, strawberries, watermelon, cherries, nectarines… mmmm
Root beer popsicles are pure nostalgia for me. I can picture me and my brothers eating them outside in the heat as they dripped all over us.
You know those little ice cream bites that are covered in chocolate?! They’re heavenly!!
Rita’s Italian Water Ice !!!
I’ve been on a smoothie kick this summer, but in the non-healthy category, ice cream is always a favorite!!
Strawberry Shortcake…..made from scratch…yummy!
Smoothies and fresh fruit! I wish we had good fruit year round, but around fall it seems like I’m limited to apples and bananas. I’m loving the fresh berries, melon and watermelon!
Ice cream… specifically salted caramel from Morelli’s Gourmet Ice Cream her in Atlanta.
Fresh peaches from the farmers’ market- the ripest ones that are juicy enough to warrant a dip in the pool to rinse off.
My go-to treat might sound strange, but I’ve been eating it since I was a kid. Every summer my mom, sister, and I picked fresh blueberries from a local farm. The ones we didn’t eat on the car ride home became “Blueberry Surprise” – essentially a handful of blueberries in a bowl of milk with a teaspoon of sugar. I’m lactose intolerant now, but almond milk makes a more than acceptable substitute. Yum!
Water.
I know it sounds a little strange, but I love to keep a pitcher of water in the fridge and fill it with fresh cut lemon and orange. Not only is it bright and colorful in the fridge, but it also tastes delicious!
It has to be a tie between chocolate dipped frozen bananas and nectarines that have been warmed in the sun.
MangoMangoMangoMango. The moment the golden yellow fruit begins to appear in the market, that is all we want and crave. There are dozens of varieties available in India, each more luscious than the last. Summer is over now and the monsoons have set in earnest. The last of the mangoes are still available and we can’t wait for next April to come by again (if only for the mangoes!).
Sno-cones!!! There is a Bahama Sno-Shack within walkign distance of my house!
My favorite snack is still the one my mom made for me when I was little: a cored apple filled with peanut butter – extra chunky!
My favorite summer time snack are pummelos. The best way to describe them would be a grapefruit on steriods. It takes some time to get to the middle, but once you do it’s refreshing, healthful and worth the wait. Plus it serves as a great excuse to take a time out, sit down and catch up with who ever is around…
There is nothing like an orange creamsicle to cool you down on a hot summer’s day – though, when it’s 100 degrees out, I’ll pretty much take anything that comes out of an ice cream truck
My favorite summer snacks are fresh fruit, ice cream, and smoothies!
Frozen grapes! So bad for me, but soooo good!
Cherries!! But I also love ice cream and dacaries
Hah- I may or may not have the “I love you to the moon and back” print as my screensaver. I love it!!!
I will say justttt-about-ripe nectarines and lime sorbet. It’s amazing…
Here in NZ are Summers are pretty lethal (compared to our Winters haha) and the NZ Natural brand of Lime Sorbet is to die for on a hot afternoon.
Frozen grapes! So refreshing, and fun to eat!
Fresh, seasonal fruit, sometimes frozen, sometimes cut up with sugar, sometimes in a smoothie or popsicle!
I love it because it’s beautiful sitting out on the counter AND super healthy!
My dad’s smoked asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and gooey cheese. It always signals the start of summer when my dad gets a’cookin. And by cooking I mean BBQ haha
Corn of the cob, roasted on the grill with the husk still on! It’s the best way to get the smokey flavor. Slathered with butter plus a beer, and I’m set!
S’mores!
Frozen grapes! Yummmmm! Healthy and so delish- especially on a hot summer day!
warm butterfly kisses from my sticky 2-year-old. Covered in popsicle and all! )
Anything frozen and sweet, especially frozen grapes and ice cream! I’m 7.5 months pregnant with my first child and have been hiding in my air conditioned house from the record 100 degree + weather…frozen is good!
Fruit yogurt & ice cream shakes, well….it’s kinda’ healthy hehehe
