{ please visit simple shapes here }

Chalkboard walls reside in a very soft little corner of my heart. In fact, one of my daughter’s bedroom walls is painted with chalkboard paint and her art installations are inspired and show a much more accurate growth rate than a measurement of her height. You know what else lives in the soft parts of my heart? Calendars. Perhaps it is my obsessive need to document and take notes or the fear of missing the birthday of an important person in my life, but I do not function without a calendar.

What do these two things have in common, you ask? They have the talented team of Simple Shapes in common. Simple Shapes is a vinyl wall art company made up of designers with backgrounds in interior design, graphic design in architecture. Their designs are impeccable enough to stand on their own and they are non-permanent ways to express yourself throughout your house. I am absolutely swooning over the Cute Birds and Branches Decal, eyes searching the house looking for the absolute perfect spot. The marriage of two of my loves (chalkboards and calendars) is brought to life with the Chalkboard Wall Calendar and I’m sure I can’t be the only one. Reusable and functional while still remaining esthetically pleasing? I’m sold.

Simple Shapes is giving away one Chalkboard Wall Calendar with Memo to one lucky winner! To enter to win, please answer the following question by Monday, January 31st.
What would you write in the memo section of your Simple Shapes calendar, to inspire you all month long?
Please begin checking the winners box on February 2, 2011 to see if you’ve won. Good luck!

    I would write what my growing baby to be is doing each week and how big it’s getting, such as at 17 weeks – 12cm long crown to rump, fingernails growing and should be feeling it starting to move! Such an exciting time, and along with the very real pregnancy brain I find I’m relying on diaries and calendars more than ever!

    Be Happy.

    This is something I live my life by, making sure that every activity I do, I do it because it makes me happy, rather than for the money or other motivations.
    Everyone wants to be happy, but seldom do we examine our lives to see what we are doing right, and what we should be changing to live a more fulfilled life (:

    I would rotate between Biblical quotes and random humorous quotes each month. As reminder from the Bible about my purpose is a good inspiration, but a the value of a good laugh or even just a smile cannot be overlooked!

    I would just write my to-do list. I love being able to check things off my monthly goals list and see, in a tangible way, the progress I’m making.
    This would look perfect in my studio, and I could use it to keep myself organized while trying to launch my letterpress printing business (my HUGE goal for the year).
