Today we are honored to introduce you to Tito and Paty from beyondBeanie (also known as bB.)
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
My name is Paty Lucero, I’m the co-founder and project manager of charitable clothing label beyondBeanie. beyondBeanie is a lifestyle brand which for every purchase made, it helps a child in need in Bolivia.
One beanie = Five meals | One bag = One set of school supplies | One poncho = One uniform
In addition, every product comes signed by the artisan who made it, whom clients can meet and greet at our site beyondbeanie.org
We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?
There is no greater satisfaction in life than to find one’s passion, to fall in love with it, and to work hard every day to get closer and closer to one’s goals. In my personal case, I have decided to set aside a successful career as architect to go after my dream of helping street children and women-artisans of my beloved Bolivia. While the journey has not been easy, I’m extremely happy for the decision that I’ve made. Indeed, there is no greater satisfaction than waking up every day and do what I love.
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly believe that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
Like you, I also believe that life is inherently beautiful. I believe that there is no greater joy and source of inspiration than to see a child smile, which is my driving force to continue with my work, even when things get tough.
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
While it’s true that things don’t always go as planned and that not all days go as good as planned, I prefer to take these challenges to help me to do better and improve myself. Ultimately, my sunshine to keep going comes from my goal to fulfill a greater mission, which is to help street children of my country to get access to meals and education as well as to provide jobs to the artisans who make our products.
What are you most grateful for?
I’m grateful for this life that I have and for the capacity to use my talents and experiences to make a positive impact to the world.
