Hello, dear readers. Inherent in the mission statement of The Bright Side Project is the unspoken belief that to “Do What You Love, Love What You Do” is an absolutely essential component in creating a happy and healthy lifestyle. Every now and then, we will ask our contributors to answer a few short questions on the ideas of happiness, creativity and sunshine. We hope these rays of light help inspire you to find the sunshine in your day, today and everyday.
Today we are honored to introduce you to Danielle from Delivered by Danielle.
Please introduce yourself to our readers and explain a little bit about your business.
My name is Danielle Hartman and I’m the artist and owner of Delivered by Danielle. I create and sell decorative prints, invites and announcements on Etsy. I sell prints for every room in the house, but nursery art is my best selling and I have the most fun creating it.
We believe that one of the ways to achieve happiness is to “Do what you love, love what you do.” How does this philosophy apply to your life?
I’m so lucky that I get to do what I love every day. When you love your work, it’s not really work at all. I can spend all day working on something and realize I’ve forgotten to take a break to even eat something. I can work on my business every day of the week and not mind. When you love what you do, it truly shines through.
Our mission here at The Bright Side Project is to spread sunshine on a daily basis because we firmly that life is (still) beautiful. Where do you find beauty and inspiration?
It can sound cliché, but everywhere I look. I think it’s just about paying attention to the little things. When you live in a routine, like most people do, you forget to stop and notice the small things. Spend some time appreciating the way the sun shines through the windows in the morning, how happy your dog is to see you walk through the door, your family laughing around the table. Gosh, this all sounds so corny. But honestly, when you take the time to notice these things, you will find inspiration around every corner.
On a dreary day, what do you do to infuse your life with a little bit of sunshine?
When I’m having a bad day, I just take some time to do something I enjoy. I browse the internet, play with my dog or spend some time outside. Sometimes you just need to recharge.
At this very moment, what are you most grateful for?
I’m so grateful that my business has done so well since I created it in October 2011. It has exceeded all of my expectations. I’m grateful for family, friends and customers who support me. The fact that my work is hanging on the walls of kitchens, bedrooms and nurseries all over the world is still amazing to me.
